My teaching method is fun first, because if you aren't enjoying a subject then you can't fulfill your potential. I focus on the individuals strengths first, then hone in on certain weaknesses to help the individual excel to new heights. I try to pass on as much knowledge as I can, as I feel it is my responsibility.
I base my classes on aiming to improve the overall writing style of the student. I aim to create a relaxed and friendly environment in order to achieve the best results. I tailor every class to suit the specific needs of the student. Previously I have helped to provide revision resources and help tackle sample essays and exam questions.

I am currently a first year medical student, having studied at Tiffin Boys Grammar School (Kingston upon Thames) throughout all my secondary education.
During my lessons, I first seek to understand what areas require focus and support, ascertaining our starting point as well as the student's preferred learning style. I then plan each lesson focussing on these needs. I will prepare the learning resources we will use, tailoring each session to the students individual learning style and educational goals.
As I am only a college student myself, I am looking to give lessons to children ages 5-16, who may be struggling with revision or content for upcoming exams. My method of teaching is focusing on one topic at a time, using exercises and colourful revision posters, and finishing lessons with an overview of the subject to kept the content remaining fresh in their mind.
I am extremely passionate about Literature and seek to enthuse my tutees by engaging them with the texts through relating them to their own experiences and reference points so that they feel confident in accessing challenging content. I always find ways to make lessons interesting for students as I plan my lessons in detail using the AFL (assessment for learning) method. I think education should not be a burden on students and it is the teacher’s responsibility to keep students engaged.
My objective as a teacher is for the student to learn and adapt the teaching style to the students ability and needs. After successfully studying educational psychologists, there is a lot of theory that can be utilised with the diverse range of children.

I often base my classes on some of my own previous lessons from primary school which have moulded me into the person I am today. I thrive on two things; challenging the students; and better so, being challenged by the students.
I begin tutoring by assessing my student's initial level compared to other students of that age. I then try and stretch the student to see what the potential to improve is and discuss with the student and their parents about what would be the best way forward in tuition and about the goals we will set together.
