- Which subject(s) do you teach? My speciality is English Literature, more specifically dramatic literature, and more specifically still the dramatic literature of the English Renaissance. My undergraduate years gave me a good wider grounding, however, and I am also able to teach, advise, and make suggestions to students of Drama, Philosophy and Media Studies. - Tell me about your qualifications.
My teaching methods is doing it. Perfect practice makes perfect. If you learn by book format I equally have those and can teach via those if needs be. But I prefer teaching by being productive.
I base my teachings on the Stanislavski approach, as well as other practitioners such as Meisner and Adler. If there is a specific piece you would like help rehearsing/working on I am happy to do that, including audition prep, or any practical work on general technique. I am also happy to go over any theatre studies or written work if so desired.
I approach my classes and sessions in different ways depending on the dynamic of the people and the number of people in a classroom. My approaches as a teacher are always fair and respectable - with an inclusive atmosphere - however, I will always aim to push an individuals expectation of themselves.
My teaching method for these acting sessions is to spend 2, 5 or 10 hours exploring each of the following drama styles: Naturalism, Comedy, Physical Theatre and Musical Devising.
