I have worked in research and teaching (agricultural colleges), I am also an examiner for biology with OCR and CIE - Which subject(s) do you teach? Biology - Tell me about your qualifications.
Hi, I'm a 22 year old lab technician working for a leading surface engineering company providing me with practical and theoretical knowledge to enable me to tutor you more effectively. My lessons will be structured by going into detail with regards to the subject matter and continuous tests to ensure it is learnt.
My teaching method consists of taking each topic and breaking it down to the basics; making things nice and simple so even complex concepts can be understood. Then as the student’s understanding grows, more in-depth knowledge can be built up.
I can teach up to a group of 4 students, in order to be able to make the lessons more personal and engaging. The lesson's structure depends on the students' way of learning (visual, auditory or kinaesthetic) and is focused on certain topics at a time.
I have over 15 years experience preparing pupils for GCSE in physics, chemistry and especially biology. I have also been a private tutor for A Level Biology for quite some years. I work flexibly and assess your preferred learning style and areas for development before we embark on the revision journey! *NEW* some new slots available from end of June 2018 as current Y11 and Y13 pupils finish exams.
I base my classes on the student as an individual and how they learn best. By first making an action plan and then using lots of varying resources. As a student myself I really have a lot of experience of being taught and how I would like to be taught.
My way of teaching is to get the student to interact more. I'd like to teach them on the things they need help with rather than everything.
Every individual is different. I deliver my lessons in simple terms and making sure every individual understand the topics.
Whether you are looking for long term lessons to build confidence and reinforce understanding, or if you need some revision and exam practice on the lead up to exams then our expertise and friendly approach will help you on the way to success.
As a tutor, I would describe myself as being patient, adaptable and dedicated to the job. I'll do whatever is necessary to ensure continued progression of my tutees. My teaching methods rely on resources of the highest standard, tailored by myself to be, in my opinion, the most useful form for teaching and revising.
Each individual is unique and requires a slightly different teaching style. After experiencing some of the best and the worst teachers and trying different learning styles, I believe I know what makes a good lesson.
I am currently a 4th year medical student at the University of Birmingham. I use a simple three step cycle of learn -> revise -> test to ensure knowledge is continually being reviewed through exam questions. A calm and adaptable approach ensures I can connect with my students.
The aim is to be deep learners rather than being surface learners. This will mean that lessons would be given to evoke consolidation where the student will learn a topic and they would be tested on it many times to make sure it helps them in the future.
My method is to see what the student's areas to focus on are using a test made from their current exam specification's past papers. I would then provide focused 1-1 tutoring, that is engaging, thorough and developed both knowledge and understanding of the topic.
Love to correlate my teaching methods with the personality of my students. I am qualify to teach in primary and secondary schools. I have experience as a teacher trainer and I am qualify to teach to adults. I can teach Biology and all the subjects correlated with, Maths, Science and French for primary school. Also I can teach English as a second/foreign language to all stages.
I don’t have a teaching method, it depends on the student and what methods are easy for them to learn and remember information
I help A level, GCSE students who want to achieve the best grades they can in maths/science-based subjects. I like to work through questions in order to identify what skills need improving. I like to try and explain difficult-to-remember or understand concepts by simplifying them into fun mnemonics.
I am a New Zealander taking a gap year to work and travel in Europe. My teaching method is relaxed but comprehensive. I am I visual learner so I like to use drawing, diagrams, and pictures to help explain. Our lessons will be based a structured plan of what precisely what material you need to learn and when this must be achieved by. I will tutor anyone up to University level studies.
I like to plan my lessons so that students get a chance to build up their confidence in a topic in order for me to then stretch and challenge them in different and interesting ways. I use a variety of different tasks and activities to keep the lessons engaging and to allow students access to the information in different ways.
