Member of the Royal Society of Biology and The Tutor's Association. - Which subject(s) do you teach? I like to base my teaching on the style the learner finds best. We initially agree on the way the learner wants to progress in the subject - which topics to cover first, what kind of resources to use (so for a visual leaner I would use a number of diagrams and images to explain any processes/concepts) and the length of time they would like to spend on each area.
I approach each class with a specific topic, the topic is taught visually with picture references if this is the learning style which suits my pupil. If a more verbal style suits the pupil I will dictate and verbally explain. I am very flexible with my teaching methods. Each topic is broken down into sub topics if appropriate to ensure proper understanding is gained.
I have been teaching over the past 5 years, with my class sizes ranging from 5 pupils to 15. Every student I have taught, have passed all of there exams (All of which were at degree level).
I am a PhD student at Leeds Beckett University. I teach science subjects to secondary school students and undergraduates. I used an interactive method of teaching to help students learn better. I enjoy using diagrams, pictures and daily life activities help my students understand their subjects better and apply it to the appropriate context.
Undergraduate Medical Student at University of Leeds offering Biology lessons to Secondary School students studying for their GCSES/ A LEVELS Enthusiastic tutor with determination to bring out the best in my students and help them to succeed.
I try and tailor my teaching style to the individual so that the syllabus becomes accessible and enjoyable. Usually this requires a dialogue prior to the first session which involves me discovering what their strengths and weaknesses in the given subject are.
I'm currently studying in my second year at Leeds Beckett University towards my Biomedical Science (BSc). My route is specific to physiology and pharmacology, which medical physiology, genetics and pharmacology being my foremost focus.
I am a recent Biomedical Sciences graduate who has studied Maths for most of her life. I graduated in July 2017 with 2:1 in my BSc (Hons). I have studied Maths up until A-Level and Biology well into my degree. I am able to tutor kids from primary school all the way through to GCSE's. In my GCSE's I was within the top 20 highest GCSE results in my school; I got 1 A*, 11 A's and B.
My teaching methodology is entirely dependant on the students I am working with. I always ensure that I vary the type of activities between reading, writing, answering questions and presenting and I always include a more fun and creative aspect to each class.
I'm a third year medical student at the University of Leeds, and I teach biology at GCSE and A level. I really enjoyed biology at school, securing an A* at GCSE and A level, and I love to help students understand the fundamental concepts to make biology interesting and intuitive, rather than a rote-learning exercise.
I have tutored on a range of different subjects and often helped students with revision methods when they have struggled. I try to structure my lessons around problem areas and delve into the particulars of what the student is struggling with.
I teach GCSE biology to many students. I begin by teaching the content at a pace decided between the student an I according to his/her needs. I then consolidate the information by carrying out regular examinations. This allows me to determine and focus on the gaps in knowledge.
My teaching method would be structured logically, to provide a good grounding for more complicated concepts. I advocate interactive learning through various techniques involving memory tests, drawing and diagrams in order to commit information to memory. I aim to teach GCSE and A-level students in a fun and methodical way, focussing on understanding rather than memorising course content.
I believe in an individual-based approach to tutoring. Everybody is different, and thus everybody learns differently. In the first session I would gauge how best to go about teaching you, and prepare my lessons accordingly, focusing on topics or techniques that you find most difficult.
I start off with basics and build on what the student already knows, then we can embellish this information and apply it to questions which may make us think about the knowledge in a better light. After that, we simplify it all and think up creative ways to remember the information.
I like to break down my subject areas systematically, and divide each topic into sections, highlighting 'problem areas', then tailoring these to specific exam questions. I respect that not all students are auditory learners so I like to use visual aids to help supplement content where possible.
I am enthusiastic about my subjects and I hope this makes my tutorials engaging and fun. My tutorials will be tailored to you and your needs. If you are struggling with a particular topic we can work through lots of example questions until you have grasped it! I believe that everyone has a different way of learning and we will work together to find a way that suits you.
I am a second year student of Biological Sciences at the University of Leeds with 2 years of tutoring experience. I am available for exam support and general subject help for primary and secondary level school students struggling with biology.
I am a biology lecturer and have taught all three sciences at GCSE level but my specialist subject is biology which I can teach up to A levels. I have 10 plus years experience in teaching at secondary and FE colleges and have taught a wide range of students with different learning needs. I have offered one to one tutoring to GCSE students and A levels so they can achieve high grades in their exams.
I base my topics based on the student's needs. I focus on helping them understand the basic concepts of the subject and kindle their thinking. Use of recent examples help the students relate more easily to the subject. Moreover, I tend to include small assignments at the end of some classes to encourage independent thinking.
My teaching method is you will tell me the topic you are struggling with and then tutor you based on what you are struggling.
Currently studying a Biomedical Science degree. I will work with you on what you need to learn. I've been through many qualifications and I know how hard it can be, so I can provide support and encouragement too! We can go through past exams or I can teach based on the objectives you have.
Base my classes on major topics taught during my academic career. Using simplistic terms to explain biological functions and theories. Can also help with research techniques, reports and dissertation writing, and presentations.
I am 18 and currently study human biology and the university of Hull. Aspiring to study medicine. And have 2 years experience in tutoring.
Hi, I'm Ellie - I have just finished my A-levels; taking Biology, Chemistry and Psychology. I am really easy-going, approachable and enthusiastic about learning! would love to teach mainly English, maths and sciences up to GCSE level.
I am a student teaching sciences and maths to students at GCSE age or below, teaching through example, model answers, thorough exam analysis and practice. I am very calm and patient, with a strong ability to make things easy to understand.
I have done private tuition before to many family friend and their friends. I have taught young children how to read and write as well as do mental arithmetic. Most of my students come for 11+ preparation, Science and English GCSE and Biology A-Levels.
I will teach according to the style that suits you best whether that be through traditional methods or in other ways.
My lessons are usually enquiry based, and not teacher spoken. I will facilitate a student rather than spoon feed, through a range of activities such as games, silent debates and pop quizzes. I try to focus on areas that interest my students as these areas tend to lend themselves to build confidence in students to improve the rest of their subject knowledge.
