I was a very successful Head of Department and since retirement I have been giving private tuition. I am familiar with all the major syllabi including Edexcel, OCR and AQA. The feedback from students I have taught has always been great . - Which subject(s) do you teach? I teach A Level Chemistry and GCSE Science. - Tell me about your qualifications. Chemistry Degree. A.R.I.C.
- Which subject(s) do you teach? I teach SATS Science, GCSE Biology, Chemistry and Physics, and Biology AS level. - Tell me about your qualifications. Food Science BSc, Secondary science PGCE (Teacher Training). I graduated from Reading University with a food science degree followed by a teacher training course (PGCE).
I understand how sometimes teachers and experts in the field use methods that make the subject difficult and so I offer a much more relatable way of learning and overcoming problems. I have only recently been through the course and so my knowledge is fresh but also deep.
I like to teach what I'm sure I know, so although I have A-level knowledge of chemistry and maths, I only feel comfortable teaching up to GCSE level because I'm confident that I'll have all of the answers. I structure my lessons to first make sure the student first has a good understanding of why things work before teaching how they work.
I feel confident in teaching Maths, Biology and Chemistry up to an A-level standard. My lessons consist of a variety of things. I try to make my lessons as fun and effective as possible as I am passionate about my teaching and giving my students the best support and teaching methods to suit them.
My teaching method is based on the current GCSE curriculum and teaching it to students and helping them in areas they need help in. I will target weak areas and will teach them and help them to understand it through examples and test them after with questions.
I like to have time interacting with students, talking to them and not just using words but pictures. You should show children and take them step by step and then give them questions to do at the end of the class and at the beginning of the next. It's all about practice so if I keep them recalling the information and show them how to answer, they'll do well.
I use different ways of tutoring to suit my tutee's learning styles and prepare thoroughly. I believe that encouragement is key and am very supportive. I feel that all students can achieve with the right guidance, appoach and attitude. I do not give up easily and and willing to always give the best of my ability to the job in hand.
My teaching will heavily be test focused, when I think you have made progress in an area I will put together a range of questions for you to complete. We will complete some tests together but most tests I will set as extra work to do until our next meeting - I trust you will complete these tests under exam conditions unless otherwise stated.
I am currently a PhD student at the University of Nottingham analysis chemical composition of diesle deposits. I am looking to gain teaching experience and help others with their education in science and in particular chemistry, however can cover biology and physics.
I use my strong chemistry/science subject knowledge, as well as practical experience of working as an Analytical Chemist in the scientific industry to make students interest to learn science subjects.Over the last 5 years successfully, made a group of lower grade students (grade D" )acquire grade B in GCSE exam.
As a teacher I am a nice and calm teacher as long as you try as hard as you can. I am an organised person so my lessons/ tutoring will be prepared before hand and I will be able to inform you about what the lesson will be on, when it will be and if you will have to do anything before hand.

Trying to make my passion familiar to everyone who needs it. Firstly we get through all the theory stuff and explain it so the pupils can go on to practice as soon as they catch the idea of the chapter. Everyone makes mistakes.. They are the chance to improve yourself! I prefer someone to correct them on his own but I am always eager to help when it is needed.

I can give lessons to all levels from school to uni. My techniques consist on solving the main problems of the students by focusing on them. For example, by trying the student to see the subject with other eyes, another point of view, try to encourage to like the subject. How? By solving the problems the student has with it.

Hola! Being an overseas masters student, I've had some pretty amazing diverse experiences in learning and teaching styles in a few countries. As a student, I know that understanding the underlying concept of any process in science is the key to gain an expertise in that section.
I obtained 9A* and an A at GCSE, and I am predicted 2A* and 2A for A-Level. I tutor children from primary school level to GCSE level. My lesson structure involves a mixture of actual teaching of the topic, some hands on question practice, and (dependent on the age group I am tutoring) a few subject-related games at the end to consolidate the topic.
