In my personal experience the best way to become a competent mathematician is by applying the mathematical theory to answer questions. For this reason my tutorials will follow a structure of a theory recap for the current topic before introducing personalized questions including exam questions which increase in difficulty.
Lessons based around summarising key parts of the course into condensed notes that are more accessible and easier to learn. Routinely work through example questions to show what is needed to achieve high marks. Regular past paper testing to evaluate the pupil's level of understanding in order to pinpoint areas of improvement.
I give lessons to GCSE students and A Level students. For saxophone lessons I do play along lessons including playing and theory using many books and music sheets that I have available. For biology, chemistry and maths I use powerpoints, past exam questions and revision posters that we will go through and talk through allowing you to review the topics taught independently as well.
I feel that the best way for people to learn is to initially identify any weakness and work through problems together, giving them confidence to work through these independently. Following the curriculum is key, therefore it's important to look through examples of past exam papers and current work from their teachers to ensure they are going to achieve the best possible grades.

Medical Engineering Degree Student - 1st Class Honours. I am patient and adaptable to work with every individual in order to help them achieve the best results. I structure lessons around the student and how they learn best and the focus on the harder aspects they are struggling with whilst also revisiting the more straight forward concepts so they are not forgotten.
My teaching method is based upon helping you understand the material being studied, rather than simply memorising or learning content. Understanding is vital as this enables you to adapt to different types of questions which you may encounter in exams. I frequently use past paper or exam style questions in my tutorials as practising questions is the best way to learn in maths and science.

I hope to offer a laidback approach to lessons catered to the needs of the individual, having been tutored myself by various different tutors I hope to pass on their passion for the science. I have a degree in Biochemistry as well as the PGCE which I have recently completed. My teaching method is to first assess each students areas of strength and weakness and to then provide tailored lesson and content to reinforce strengths and to quickly address and knowledge gaps and areas of weakness.
I start each topic with a baseline test before breaking down the content section by section and finishing off with an assessment to check to see if the student has gained knowledge
My teaching methodology involves tailoring the learning experience to the individual student. No 2 people learn the same way so I use many different learning aids such as PowerPoint, games , flash cards and past papers. I also ensured the whole GCSE or A - level syllabus is covered and not only understood but also the student is able to apply the knowledge.
- Classes Each student attends normally for one session per week for one hour and 20 minutes. In some cases, 2 lessons per week can be offered if deemed necessary. Students will typically spend 20 minutes with the tutor discussing the lesson plan and setting goals followed by written and computer based lessons in a specific area.
My teaching style is interactive. In my first lesson, I conduct a general assessment of my students in order to ascertain their weak points. I work on their weaknesses, build them to the required educational standard and bring out the confidence level expected of them.
