Hello! My names Ryan Upward I'm a guitarist from Weston-Super-Mare who is looking to start teaching around the North Somerset area! I have been playing guitar for 9 years and have been gigging around North Somerset in a variety of bands playing all different styles of music from metal, rock and Blues to Jazz and funk.
I always believe that the hardest things to play on the guitar are the things you start with. Once you have passed a certain phase of learning, everything gets much easier. I aim to get you to understand how the guitar works instead of memorising music so you could have your own 'voice of play'.

It doesn't matter if you are a complete beginner or experienced, you only need to be 5 years + and I can help you become a competent guitarist.
I base by lessons in response to what the students are looking to get out of the guitar. Whether it's refining skills before an exam, working through grades or play your favourite song, the most important thing is to love what you are doing.
I'm a first year Music undergraduate looking to teach guitar to anyone. I play all styles, acoustic, electric, jazz and classical, although have a preference for electric. I predominantly teach face to face, although am willing to do online tutoring.
I believe that each student learns in their own way. The most important thing is to recognise how to engage the student of all levels and hopefully inspire them to re-engage with their instrument on a regular basis. I have been teaching for many years and enjoy the discovery of music with my students, this leads to mutual and ongoing creativity between teacher and student.
I like to teach in a way that can see rewarding progress for the student quickly, as learning an instrument can be challenging, I feel it is important to always make the lessons and target areas fun and at the right level, as it is supposed to be enjoyed.
I tailor lindividual lessons for my students. Each lesson will have a recap/test, some fretboard knowledge and applied theory. My students like having a split lesson - they can learn/tweak certain guitar techniques, expand their own playing and applying it to a song/tune at the end of each lesson.
My lessons content depends on the level and the ambition of my students. I can either make you discover music at a basic level in a fun way or train experienced musicians with a more technical content.
I am an experienced musician and guitar teacher. I love teaching and helping people get as much out of the instrument as I have. My lessons are tailored to the individual but can cover a wide range of subjects - technique, theory, improvising, specific songs/styles. My approach is that your learning experience should be fun while getting you playing the music you want to be playing.
