I have always been deeply passionate about English language and literature, I'm sure I could read before I could walk! I obviously have my favourites, but I will read and analyse every and any book put in front of me. I have written more short stories than I've had hot meals, and am currently working on my debut novel (among several other pet projects).
MY teaching method is to get to know my pupils to understand which method is best suited to them. I like to build a rapport with pupils and make lessons interesting whilst also concentrating on content. I like lessons to be structured but with an informal nature.
My teaching methodology is subjective to each student and their needs. In general, I would base classes around a core text and ask questions to develop a conversation and help a student develop their own unique interpretation of the work which then can be used to aid assessment. I would also focus on essay structure and exam to technique to help each student achieve excellent results.
My teaching methods are most suitable for those within Key Stage 4 (GCSE) or Key Stage 5 (A Levels/BTECs) as my background in education primarily focused on teaching these groups.
