I start my planning by considering the students' needs and their best method of learning. I am an expert at diffentiation and ensuring that all the students are comfortable and confident in the classroom. I use a variety of methods so students are motivated and challenged embed learning with lots of progress checks.
My teachings methodology is really personal to the student, but I like to make it as engaging and interesting as possible because as long as the student is enjoying what they’re doing, it’s very rarely seen as a chore.
An experienced English Teacher at The Portsmouth Academy until the end of May 2017 and English Tutor. I was awarded a Grade 1 by OFSTED in 2015. Committed to personalised learning, my lessons are stimulating and pacy. I ensure that my students can achieve their grades and that they really enjoy their learning experience.
My teaching methodology is to create content rich and exciting lesson plans to encourage the students to enjoy learning. My background is Business related having a business degree prior, however I have found my passion working with children in Hong Kong following completing my Tefl certificate to teach English abroad.
The teaching method I use is discussion methods, where I will explain then start a discussion on the topic to get information and make sure everything is clearly understood. Also brainstorming ideas and get a representation of what is understood before going on to teach. If reaching a group, give them some time to discuss ideas.
I give lessons to generally GCSE aged students however I am open to more flexibility (to teach from Key Stage 2 - A-Level). I adopt a student-centred approach and focus on aspects of learning that students are concerned with specifically. I adopt my style to the student's individual needs and how they learn best. (practical learning, note taking etc.
My method revolves around building confidence in core presentation skills and English. Using close text analysis, something not expanded on until degree level to help make any text easy to grasp alongside how to use the gained knowledge to gain marks in an exam context. I aim to teach my students the skills to tackle any presentation or essay with extreme confidence.
My lessons are for primary school aged children, getting them involved and enthusiastic! I love children to be involved in their learning, using lots of practical lesson plans.
I am a health care professional educated to Master's level and have extensive experience working in the NHS and Private sector. I am also a published author and write educational books for adults and children.
I have had many lovely compliments from my students, including "very unexpected", but for the most part they have described me as warm, caring and fun. Online, my help is described as "very effective.
- Classes We carry out a free assessment for every student. After that we can see exactly what each child can and cannot do. We design an individual programme for each child to help them in their weak areas. Each week we see where they are successful and where they need more help.
My teaching method is built upon having a calm atmosphere to maximise engagement. By actively listening to students, I can identify where they are struggling and help accordingly. Students tend to know themselves where they need help! I believe that practice makes perfect and nothing can replace getting stuck into the work.
My teaching method is simple: identify the student's learning style (oral, visual etc) and create an appropriate style to best support the individual. I like to make work fun and include activities. I have always conducted lessons 1:1 and find this personal approach is hugely beneficial.

I treat each class differently and adapt my teaching style to suit the learners. Generally, I like to create a friendly and approachable atmosphere where the student feels comfortable asking any questions and guiding their learning. I'm happy to teach any age-range, up to University level.
I believe individuals all have different learning styles and prefer to structure a lesson around how people enjoy learning, definitely as much 1:1 time as possible!
All lessons are taught on a case-by-case basis and tailored to the specific student. I am currently studying A-Levels, and so am willing to tutor up to this level; I also offer to teach those who are wishing to learn or improve a second language, regardless of whether they study it formally.
