Hello. I am 32 year old Irish composer and academic living in Belfast. I froth the cleft between electroacoustic music, field recording, post-disco beat making, and found sound, creating music that fuses together the concrète and the kinetic. - Which subject(s) do you teach? I teach music and English.
I encourage students, initially through discussion then through writing, to engage with language and source materials in a manner that invites them to engage with thier own learning. Student empowerment through practical demonstration and practice is at the forefront of my teaching.
My approach to teaching is determined partly on subject matter to be taught and as well as the nature of the learner.
My teaching method is a practical method by teaching a particular topic and then setting different tests, essays and papers
Preference for 1 to 1 sessions or small groups. Teach different topics for each session, planning activities and work for each session plus additional homework relating to the topic of that session and preparation activity for the upcoming topic for the following session.
My teaching method is to identify what the individual struggles the most with and focus on their weaknesses until they become strengths.
My teaching ethos includes making learning as effective and simple as possible. It's really about creating a rapport between the tutor and the student, and listening to what the student needs. Every student learns through different techniques, and have been a student myself I understand all the variations.
I find it helpful to go over past work with my student and point out where they could improve, perhaps followed by a rewrite of the assignment they struggled with. I can provide lists of tips and advice, and I believe above all in a patient and compassionate attitude towards my student, whilst ensuring they are listening and learning.
I offer tutoring for students of any age, up to University level. I can be flexible with my approach, adapting to suit the needs of each student.
My teaching method is based on you and your needs. I work with my student at what ever level they are at and work at a pace that is most effective for thier academic development. I am a firm believer that anything can be achieved with some hard work and with my encouragement and knowledge I guarantee that my student will not improve thier ability and confidence in the subject of English.
My teaching focuses on passion and enthusiasm -- English is so easily dismissed by people who find it difficult. I endeavour to confer my deep enthusiasm and appreciation for literatures to students. As such, I work on exploring different avenues than those students have already found, to try and unlock greater enjoyment and deeper understanding.
I'm a second year undergraduate student studying Social Anthropology. However, I studied English up to A level achieving a solid A grade. My aim is working with students predominately at secondary level (GCSE and A level) but I can teach younger students if required. I normally start with a consultation with the student to see what they need help with and relevant material for each student.
Allowing the pupil to present their work or demonstrate knowledge or technique then I give constructive criticism, guidance, offer methods and techniques to help them achieve their true potential. I usually give homework or exercises to help pupils retain knowledge on, or practice whatever it is they are struggling on.
I am very passionate about my subject.
I've just graduated from Queen's University with a degree in English literature and modern history. My dream is to become a teacher who can combine a passion for knowledge with a positive student experience. My lessons are based on listening to the student and molding the lesson around their personal needs. I'm here to listen and help rather than force my interests on the student.
To help those who need the most support build confidence and experience in School English. Prepare them for exams and much more.
An avid reader and writer, my primary intention is to awaken in my tutees a passion for the literary and dramatic works studied. I am firmly of the conviction that an appreciation of the artworks analysed will engender more nuanced critical responses of the texts at hand.
Local Editor and Branding Strategist in educated in English to degree level at Queen's University Belfast. Previously a tutor/peer mentor at Tor Bank School working with young students with complex learning preferences.
My teaching method is quite simple. Depending on the age and ability of the pupil we will analyse the course material, set targets and identify strengths and weaknesses to design personalised lesson plans focused on delivering results.
I will first get an understanding of the types of learners that I am teaching and thereafer develop a strategy that will align with their interests. Creative strategies will be employed such as videos, songs as well as other fun and exciting activities.
I am currently studying for BA(hons) in English Language and Literature having been placed top of my year for first year. As I hope to ultimately become a secondary school teacher I am very interested in tutoring and am very patient when working with pupils.

I am a university student in QUB, studying drama and theatre. I have completed ten GCSE's and four A levels, all grade C or above and have a passion for innovitave and dynamic teaching. I went to Assumption Grammar school where my drama teacher often asked me to create lesson plans and teach students at GCSE and A level, when she was engaged in other activities.
Essay plans, step by step discussion of what to cover and what's irrelevant. Will also look at grammar and punctuation. Even those who don't feel they need help can loss marks for simple mistake, I would aim to aid this.
Combining motivational coaching techniques, I offer a fully engaging and personalised service. Typically, for a first session I undertake a comprehensive learning needs assessment, the results of which can be made available to the parent / guardian.
Every learner is an individual. I tailor my sessions to the needs and abilities of the individual student to ensure that they achieve their full potential. When taking on a new student to tutor I ensure that I understand their abilities and where their strengths and weaknesses lie and together we set realistic goals.
My teaching is structured, relevant and offers a lot of support as well as challenge.
My teaching methods are specific to each undividual learner. No two learners are the same.
I have been helping primary 6 pupils with the transfer tests for 12 years. I help to prepare young people with exam technique and to gain confidence in attempting the more challenging questions. An hour a week on a one to one basis makes a huge difference.
I am an A-level student so I do understand the stresses of school and can sympathise to a degree with students, I would prefer to tutor students at GCSE level as I gained quite a bit of experience at this level myself. I am stern when needed and lenient when needed, I am kind, passionate about this subject and willing to adapt to others needs and requirements.
