I employ the philosophy: ‘learn & enjoy learning’ to my teaching practice & methodology. I recognise the importance of helping each trainee to develop their individual potential & learning style. I feel that hard work & a sense of achievement are factors that provide the most conducive atmosphere for rapid & effective learning.
I teach people at many levels from beginner to advanced, i'm holding one-to-one lessons where we practice our reading, writing, listening and speaking skills. A lesson usually lasts 60 minutes and i'm also sending my students some homework because they need to study more than 60 minutes a week to reach their desired goals.
I have taught children, teens, adults and seniors. It is important to discuss needs, expectations, goals and timeframes at the start, whether it is one-to-one or a group environment. I like to help students by first establishing what they have learned, what has been difficult, and how best I can help them.
I base my classes on what I learnt in university and on what I think are the most efficient course books and material. I think knowing the basics is very important, we have to build everything on that. I am willing to practice as much as you need for you to understand everything perfectly.
I love music, languages and helping people. Therefore I find teaching a very gratifying experience. It makes my day when I see my students with a big smile on their faces. - Which subject(s) do you teach? Cello, Spanish and English as a Foreign Language. - Tell me about your qualifications.

There was a time when I too was a pupil, afraid and frightened by the looming threat of exams and tests. Exam time can be stressful, but school doesn't have to be all doom and gloom. With a bit of help, careful and considered one-to-one instruction and guidance personally crafted for you and your needs, school can be a lot easier.
Trained as a teacher at Cambridge University, UK. TESOL trained (Trinity College, London). Native English speaker. 20 years teaching experience including to speakers of other languages. Qualified Head Teacher in the UK. I am looking to start a new online venture, teaching young children to read and write in English. No English is required from the learner, we will start from the beginning.
I believe that learning a language should be fun, and approach each class with this in mind. Your sessions will be tailored perfectly to you, as I will use our first class to find out what you want from English, what areas you should focus on, and generally just getting to know each other. I am adaptable to you, so whether you want conversational classes or more structured help, I can provide it.
I concentrate on functional English. Not all subjects in a language are equally learned at the same time. You might really need one part and have no interest in how to explain your extended family. I want to know what you want to learn now and what can wait. I like to find ways to use topics you enjoy to learn that vocabulary and grammar.
I believe in the interactive approach to language learning, which means my lessons also strive to maximise the amount and variety of language used by students in various contexts. The lesson plans can be fluid and decided by you. I teach all levels, so please feel free to get in touch.
I have experience in teaching English to teenagers, running workshops with mature students and engaging in conversation to further language knowledge. I am enthusiastic about languages and more than appreciate the privilege we English speakers have. Thus, I believe encouragement and discussion help with learning the many conflicting rules of the English language.
Having studied and taught languages for many years, I understand what constitutes a good language lesson. I believe that lessons should be student driven, and highly interactive. My lessons are interesting and fun! I focus the materials around the students interests and goals.
I always cater my classes to my students and their needs and interests. I take time to get to know my students, to ask what they want from our lessons, and I go from there! I have given many successful classes this way. I feel that all English lessons need to be student centred. I give my students the tools they need and then give them as much free practice as possible.
All lessons are planned according to the needs of the student. I prefer to combine a guided discovery approach with a more traditional approach of teaching, practising, and reviewing. All English skills (reading, writing, speaking, listening) and systems (vocabulary, grammar) are taught, using authentic materials as much as possible.

As a child growing up I loved learning by having fun. I have taught children fire safety, math, and English and guitar and enjoyed making them laugh while they learned. Participating by listening, speaking and writing helps the kids to combine their existing knowledge with new material. Visual aids and conversation help to strengthen the process of learning while having loads of fun.
My teaching 'philosophy' is based on two principles: (i) help your student to master the basics and then (ii) design a working programme that fits his/her unique personal needs. For some people, English is a means to a purpose while for others is a purpose in itself; having different motivations, their learning journey requires a different kind of support.
I am a very student centred teacher. Having taught students of all ages, the key to success is to understand your student, listen to them, get to know them, and then adapt your teaching according to them. My lessons are varied but targeted, we focus on prior knowledge and how to build on this moving forward. We set targets and then acknowledge attainment of these targets.
My lessons are fun, engaging and effective, using relevant subject matter to introduce grammar and vocabulary, and to practise it in an open and non-judgemental environment. I tailor my lessons to individual students, their needs and objectives, and provide work that is challenging but achievable.
I have studied to become an English teacher at the West Thames College in Isleworth. The Cambridge qualification I have studied for is called CELTA ( Certificate to teach English as a Foreign Language to Adults). I have passed the course with a PASS B.
My teaching method is based on building confidence and making sure the student realises their potential.
