Hello I'm Carrie, I have a degree in French and a Master in Translation. I have also lived in France for two years and work with French markets for many years. I teach students both on an informal basis, over coffee or even Skype and I also help students prepare for exams including GCSE, A-level or DELF and DALF. (I develop a personal plan or every student depending on their needs and goals).
My teaching is based upon what the student knows and doesn’t know. From learning vocabulary in a fun and engaging way, to learning grammar.
I would base my work and topics on the material provided by the student from school and on the examining board's curriculum. From experience I know that some teachers like focusing on certain topics to prepare them more for the exam and ignore certain things on the specification and I could fill the gaps and explore the diverse topics.
I tailor my lessons according to the individual needs of each pupil and to the curriculum of the particular course/exam-board under which they are studying, identifying the areas in need of improvement and devising an individual strategy to combat them. Lessons for extra-curricular purposes are also available to all levels.
I am an aspiring language student who has just completed A levels in French, Spanish and English literature and is awaiting results. I take a patient and compassionate approach to teaching modern languages as I appreciate how difficult they can be, particularly in the transition from primary to secondary school.
Hi! I've just returned to Belfast after 7 years living in France where I taught English to children and adults, both privately and within schools, as well as offering English immersion holidays for French children. I also tutored teenagers in English and English Literature and succeeded in improving the student's results in schoolwork.
I teach French at all levels, whether it be over a coffee or at the home at an affordable price. I adapt my teaching method to each student and work hard to achieve good results. I focus on the core areas of reading, writing, listening and speaking.
I know what its like to feel out of our depth with a subject that can sometimes be very hard to grasp. What I like to do with students is develop an understanding of how they approach subjects. With this we can then tailor and personalise my teaching methods according to their needs.
I usually start with basic questions to evaluate the level and the needs of the student (grammar, vocabulary, comprehension) and then try to provide exercises on an interesting topic to help improving general skills. I also like to end my lesson with a very short expression (oral or written) to practice.
I was born in France and moved to Belfast 3 months ago, We always spoke English and French at home as my husband is from Belfast. In my private life, as a Mum of a bilingual daugther, I learnt how to constatly translate everything. I will base my classes on your needs. First we will test your knowledge and then build the course to help you achieve your goal.
I’ll provide direct hands-on training in my one on one sessions and make sure there is a dynamic bridge between theory and practice!
I am a final year university student, studying French and Spanish. I am enthusiastic and hardworking and will help you to achieve the best that you can in different language areas including grammar, comprehension and vocabulary. If the student wants work corrected outside of the lesson time, this will cost extra depending on the amount of work.
I can give lesson from A1 to C2 level. Hello, As a person who has been graduated with an AFL (applied foreign languages) bachelor degree and a Master degree specialized in International Marketing, I am vigilant with accent, orthographe and grammar. Lesson structure: A1: work on the bases of grammar, orthographe, accent. Reading, writing, understanding.
French is especially hard to get from reading, that's why it is critical to practice it often and to compare what is written to what is said; thus my method bases on plenty of reading to drive to plenty of speaking!
During these hours, I want you to speak French. Sounds like obvious, but it the most important thing. We can speak about what you want, but we will do it in French. Thanks to this we will debriefed our dialogue and you will have a vocabulary list for the next time as a base for our work.
I give interactif courses based on books, through listening and speaking also writing, sometimes through videos conference depends on students choice and availability
I'm an English native who tutors in French. My students are of all age ranges and capabilities. I adapt my lessons to the needs of the student but typically focus on all aspects of language: listening , reading , speaking and writing.
I will use French as much as possible to make it easier and easier for you to understand, and speak as the time goes on. I will use the provided lessons from your school at first and see how good you are, then depending on your level we can work on them or use French music, books (I brought Albert Camus with me so you will have something difficult to read, and you will improve super fast).
I am passionate by my language, country and culture and I love to share it with my students during my classes through grammar, conversation, writing, videos, informal classes at the museum, yoga etc. I use different supports (books, videos, plays, writing) to make you learn meanwhile enjoying the process.
My teaching method involves games, songs, cover write repeat, activity books, watching French TV shows or movies and reading books. I devise lesson plans and organise what homework will be given.
My teaching methods consist mainly of focusing on exam stategies and development of linguistic comprehension through different learning techniques.
I am a French mum of 3 children, I moved in Belfast 2 years ago, my english is not too good ! lol But my french is excellent ! I can help you for Grammar, conjugation, pronunciation, vocabulary... With children, I use a pedagogic methods through games and drawings... I am not a teacher, I will adapt the several methods depending your age, your personality , your level and your target.
I always adapt myself to the students. I find their centre of interests, what they like and would teach from what they can easily understand. Everybody have in their minds, existing patterns in various fields. My approach will be to reach my students on their own patterns with Q/A and establish a common ground where they can learn to speak and write French "en douceur".
I try to focus on listening and speaking skills,as these are the areas where pupils lack confidence. One to one tuition develops oral fluency and competence. In between sessions, I set written and listening tasks as homework.I support students via e-mail.
I base my classes on what the individual needs help with whether it be total beginner level (primary) or more advanced and make it as relaxed as possible as I know not every student thrives in a classroom environment and prefers something more calm.
I approach each topic with time and patience in order to relieve pressure from the student. I specialise in individual tutoring as I like to ensure that progression is being made.
