I am a full-time independent private tutor. I am a retired teacher of physics and mathematics, and have worked as a private tutor since retirement. I call myself Christine's Maths & Physics Tuition. I tutor because I love doing it.
I am a patient and enthusiastic teacher and I enjoy working with students of all abilities from GCSE up to further maths A-level. I use lots of example questions when teaching, as the most successful way to learn mathematics is through practise.
I am happy to give lessons at any level from those completing GCSEs to finishing their first year at university. When teaching physics I am a firm believer in problem based learning and aim to use examples to illuminate any key concepts whenever possible.
I start by sitting with the students and together we work out their strengths and weakness. I listen to their preferred style of teaching and then I use this information to create my lessons. I generally start with the students weaknesses to help bring them up to a more comfortable position. I fully believe the students preferences are the main priorities to help with their learning.
Hi! I'm currently an undergraduate studying Mathematics and I believe that tutoring should not only be beneficial to getting better grades but also be fun! - Which subject(s) do you teach? Mathematics, Physics, Italian, Business Studies and Science - Tell me about your qualifications. I am an undergraduate student studying Mathematics at a Russell Group university.
-Provide the students with a wide variety of study skills tailored to their individual needs. -Enhance understanding of the subject and help the student develop an interest towards the subject. -Able to provide assistance and feedback before the submission of coursework -Intensive revision before exams focused on past papers and exam techniques.
I am careful to understand the needs of individual students; taking time to find out about how they prefer to work and establishing learning techniques that help them. I am keen that students engage with the curriculum in a way that enables them to understand the wider context/relevance of it.
My teaching method is mainly based on practising questions. Initially, I will teach the topic and will go through examples with the student in the lesson. Once a basic understanding has been established, questions will be given to test their understanding - which will be gone through during the same lesson.
I find that focusing on weak areas is the most effective area of teaching. By going through issues that a student has had with questions and finding where the problems arise from, then working on fixing these issues leads to a stronger and more confident student.
My teaching method is to practise one topic at a time through explanation and practice questions, find any issues within that topic, and then address those issues until the topic is fluent to the student. This can, and often does involve discussing alternate methods or explanations for concepts.
My name is Daniel Simpson, I am currently studying Mathematics at the University of Nottingham and I teach GCSE and A-Level Maths. My standard lessons normally range from 1-2 hours and are split into 2 sections with a five minute break in between. I normally require a topic the student would like to work on before the lesson so I can prepare resources.
My classes are tailored to the student. I will target my classes towards what you specifically struggling in, attempting a range of different teaching techniques to find the best method for you. I feel the best way to learn maths is to understand WHY, rather than just to know how. If you just learn the method, you can easily forget it.
My teaching method is through exercising and clear example explanations. I try to adapt my explanations as much as possible to the student/tutee.

I've taught a student at primary level, a student at GCSE level and a student taking their A Levels so have a broad range of practice tutoring all levels. I structure my lessons based on each student. Everyone is different and prefer different approaches. However they want me to teach them, I will go with that and try my best to help them.
I like to approach tutoring in a structured and logical manner. I first request information from students about progress in their studies, what material they have covered, where they are struggling, and I use this to devise sessions tailored specifically to individuals.
