Depending on how old the student is and their level of knowledge i approach things in multiple ways. For younger students, the focus should be on understanding the subject and its relevance. For older students who are similar to myself, the focus is on interpreting exam questions correctly and answering them with the needed amount of detail.
I use a combination of teaching methods so there will always be something that works for everyone. I prefer using powerpoint for passing on key information to learn. I will also use discussion based sessions to ensure full understanding and meeting of the aims so exam technique becomes developed and reinforced gradually.
I aim to adapt my teaching methods for the needs of my students to ensure they all make the best possible progress!
My teaching methodology is to breakdown the lesson into introduction, key words, key themes, case studies, key thinkers etc. I use interactive methods to ensure that the student has engaged with the lesson structure.I will ensure each session is centred around the individual student, their needs and their abilities.
I recently graduated the University of Sheffield with an honours degree in Geography and am looking to work with students 11-18 and enable them to achieve the grades they want. A in Geography GCSE and A* in Geography A level. I aim to be able to create a positive learning environment with a friendly atmosphere, and encourage students to embrace the holism and synopticisty of Geography.
Hi! My name is El and I recently graduated from the University of Sheffield with a 2:1 degree in Biology. I can offer lessons to a wide range of students- from primary to undergraduates. If you're willing to learn then I'm happy to be of assistance! I am a big believer of learning being as enjoyable as possible and so aim to make your experience exactly how you want it.
My methods of tutoring are very hands on, I will engage students with activities and tasks that will both teach the content as well as inspiring interest in the subject. I will cater the sessions to each individual student, their needs and their abilities, as well as developing a relationship with the student which means that I can gain a deeper understanding into their academic needs.
I am a current Undergraduate Student at the University of Sheffield who is interested in teaching the subjects I studied at A-Level to other students (Economics, Geography and English) I am happy to teach up to A Level standard but prefer working with younger students.
