My approach to tutoring is to consider every student as an individual and to make learning fun. I have a passion for the subjects that I teach and I try to enthuse my students too. A happy student is a more productive student and I endeavour to make my tutoring sessions a highlight of their week, rather than a chore.
Tutoring Approach SATs & 11+: Dr Puri mainly help students in solving sample paper questions. He helps students to develop technique to solve questions using short and long method (when possible). If the student is particular weak in a topic, a full lesson dedicate in confidence building in the weak areas.
I am really passionate about teaching and create a learning environment that gives the chance to really learn and apply the knowledge. I think the education's key is not just transferred what you know, it supports the learner to set and achieve their goals using appropriate methods for a particular individual.
I am not another teacher, I have had recent and more importantly personal experience with GCSE's and so have mastered ways of understanding, explaining and revising the syllabus. I will work together with you, and the exam specification to go through exam questions and techniques for high grades. I'll also teach tricks that i used during my own exam.
I discuss with the student and parents their goals, the school's scheme of work and analysis/results from practice papers before creating a bespoke plan. I ensure to link topics to the real world and other topics to make them more interesting as well as discussing exam techniques. My teaching style is adapted to the student's learning style, e.g. using visual resources if a visual learner.
Understanding is always better than memorisation. True depth in understanding eliminates the need to remember facts/processes/tricks/examples as much, which makes an exam a whole lot less stressful! (I talk from experience!!!) My aim when tutoring is always to foster this depth in understanding and not simply to get a student through an exam on their capacity to retain information temporarily.
My teaching method involves understanding where a student is unsure of a topic and teaching it in detail from the beginning to ensure that they have a clear understanding of the whole topic.
I teach Maths to Primary school children and Secondary school children and also cover the 11+ and 13+ exams for selective schools. All my students have developed a love for Maths.
So what are you waiting for… Tutoring Experience: • My most recent students excelled in Maths and Further Maths, getting equal or higher grades than predicted by their schools. • I have copious experience in teaching students, relatives, and friends through 11plus to A Level and above.
1) recognising the pattern , concept or rule being applied. 2) Model applicable situations and exam style questions. 3) Have you repeat the pattern, concept or rule with similar exam style questions.
With 43 years professional experience I tutor in all major subjects of Civil Engineering. Examples: 1) Hydraulics 2) Concrete Structures 3) Steel Structures 4) Mathematics 5) Management 6) MICE qualification I live in central London and accept students to my teaching space. I do not visit students.
In my opinion the most important part of tutoring is the relationship between the tutor and the student. If there is a strong and respectful bond between the two, there are guaranteed results of progress for the pupil and the tutor! Rewards and a positive learning environment also play a lead role in a child’s progress.
My teaching method is very calm and structured. I prefer a step by step approach to problems. I always go through a theory together with the student and perform a few example exercises, before supervising the student as they practice themselves.
My teaching values and methodology is Fun, Interactive, Engaging, Specific, Accurate, Practical and have Attention to Detail. I teach according to what is required and promote interest in the student themselves allowing them to work independently and in groups.
My method of teaching encourages learning by heavy practicing; I truly believe anyone can learn Mathematics at a higher level through consistent, constant and thorough practicing.
With an innovative and systematic model of teaching, I have developed methods of ensuring that students grasp the concepts completely. While teaching maths, I aim to give students a head start on their peers by teaching unique tips and tricks to further their understanding.
Subsequently I have worked with Years 2 to 6 in primary schools, as well as more teaching of KS3 Maths in secondary schools. As a class teacher I have become skilled at teaching, planning, assessing and levelling children, as well as organising and assisting duties and tasks.
My teaching method is such that I break down the topics into the most simplest way possible so that even the students who are struggling to learn would be able to learn. I'm very determined and passionate about helping others that I would not easily give up until the student fully understands a topic.
My teaching method depends on the experience of my tutees and the difficulties they have with their studies. For those who have grasped the concepts before in school lessons, I focus on exam technique and practice questions.
I always begin the first class doing 2 things: 1) getting to know you- this builds a strong rapport between us, 2) giving an initial assessment to see what level you are at and what specific topics we need to work on. After that, all lessons are based on previous classes and what you personally feel you need to work on in that particular lesson.
I offer individual private tuition in Mathematics and English for KS1 and KS2, and Mathematics for KS3, and preparation for entrance exams. I check what the student wants/ needs to improve in and going out of that and using exercises, home works and learning techniques/ strategies I help them to gain confidence and start working hard but with ease solving the so called "problem" independently.
I am a UK qualified mathematics teacher with twelve years experience in UK secondary schools at all ability levels. I help students, via online lessons, to find their way with maths, to achieve their best goals in the subject through a solid grasp of techniques.
I start teaching with the extreme basics of the subject, giving a thorough overview of what's going on and slowly approach towards the practical use of the subject. I pre-plan things to teach and the medium of teaching is English.
I base my lessons on improvisation and base the progression of each lesson on the understanding shown by the student. I prefer to discuss verbally at first, then move to written examples. My priority is to develop an understanding of the concept over achieving the correct answer to specific questions without understanding the process.
Each lesson I will teach in a way to fit the needs of the pupil, these may include: - Staying ahead of the Syllabus taught in school, by teaching the syllabus on a weekly basis, allowing the pupil to have a better grip on a topic by the time they are scholastically introduced to it.
Always start with a puzzle. This has served me well teaching from primary level to A-Level. The lesson should always start with a problem that draws the student in and gets them thinking. Really thinking. Playing around with numbers, concepts and different approaches is the corner stone of mathematical creativity. This is the base, from which, the rest of the lesson can flow from.
My method is fairly simple: first I approach basic understanding of topics, focusing on areas of weakness until I am satisfied that my student has good comprehension of the subject area. After this I focus on exam technique (this is, after all, where most marks are gained and lost).
I assess each student's academic capability and formulate specific lesson plans to achieve their goals by guiding them to their highest potential. I write the objectives and goals with the student and use various learning styles to make the lessons entertaining as well as educational.
I know exactly what it takes to help your child achieve the grade they aspire to whether it be a Grade 9 or 5. I am very skilled in knowing how to approach different questions depending on your child`s current skill-set. I choose the best ways to make sure they remember.
My teaching method begins with finding what my students problems are and where their difficulty lies. From what i get, i start there and write out objectives to make sure each one is ticked of towards the end of the session. Moving on, i would ensure the topics are understood and get straight into problems from different sources.
