When teaching the lessons will be fun and engaging we will focus on a new skill ever lesson but if more time is required on one certain thing multiple lessons can be used. I am a fun person and will try to make even the more boring lessons exciting for you.
I love to play guitar i started playing when i was 9 i also know how to play piano and drums
Starting with the basics - basic chords, finger positioning, scales, etc. Then once you're ready, I believe the best way to start playing and make sure you keep at it is to play songs that you like, that aren't too difficult. Starting from there getting progressively more and more complex, into slides, bends, broken chords.

Hi there. My name is Rob. I have successfully taught students ranging from 6 to 60 years old. My lessons are conducted in a relaxed and friendly manner, and my approach to teaching varies depending on what the learner's needs are and what they want to achieve.
Whether it's electric or acoustic, rock or pop, I base my lessons around each student and their preferred tastes in music.
The approach I use is based on Kolb’s experimental learning cycle. The concept was developed to reflect the fact that learning is an on-going and continuous process. It stresses the need for practice and feedback so that the process comprises of a continual series of circular patterns based on experience.
With my lessons, everything is tailored to your needs and what you ultimately want to achieve from your learning, such as learning songs or improving technical ability. I believe in encouraging ear training from an early stage alongside teaching an instrument to really get the most out of your relationship with music.

I have been playing music since I was 5 years old when I got my first music book, 'The Disney Book', any child's dream for wanting to play all the tunes I had heard on my favourite Disney classics! I had already completed my Grade 8 at 15 years old, and my performances include Beethoven's 'Fur Elise' , Rachmaninov 'Prelude C Sharp Minor' and 'Liszt Etude Un Sospiro' along with others.
I am graduate of Leeds College of Music who specializes in performance and composition. I aim to inspire and enthuse students of all ages, from just starting out to years down the line. My lessons will include the essential techniques of guitar playing and look at specific genres of the students' interests. I can also help with song-writing and will tailor the lessons to your own goals.
I like to teach how my students like to be taught. The best results come when the student is enjoying the lesson. Theres no point teaching scales to someone who doesn't want to learn scales; or teaching metal to someone wanting to work through classical grades. If you want to learn covers of songs so you can sit in your room/go to an open mic and sing some songs; I'm more than happy to do that.
I am capable of teaching all levels from Beginner to Advanced Tailor made lessons to suit your individual needs. Use of Kodály method if requested.
My teaching method is based on working with each student on what they really enjoying playing and listening to. All the exercises and techniques are based on their favourite music style which always makes their practice time more enjoyable, keeps engaged and inspired to continue their musical journey.
I will teach the songs YOU want to learn, show you more challenging songs in styles you enjoy playing to aid your progression, and work on techniques to begin your songwriting journey. I have recording equipment available at my home, and can travel within 10 miles of Leeds City Centre.
Lessons will be centered around each student's inherent learning style, but the main focus will be on developing your individual musicality across the genres you prefer while also obtaining a clear grasp in the theory behind it. Any skill level on the instrument is welcome.
I believe in the importance of enjoyment, of igniting the passion that has lead you to consider guitar lessons. Whatever it is you want to learn, I'm committed to helping you achieve that. I am also serious about technical improvement, and want to help everyone realise their full potential. I specialise in blues, pop and rock guitar playing, but am not limited to these styles.
My teaching method is to focus on natural sounds and inner breathing, articulation, pitch, note bending. I am a degree level musician that would love to help you get to where you need to be in terms of study and practise.
I have a calm, attentive teaching style. Listening to Students needs to find the best possible way to achieve their goals. Wether working through books, learning songs for gigs, improving technical ability, musicality and understanding if music. I intend to keep lessons fun, interesting and challenging to ensure students can be the best player they can be.
My aim is to teach you whatever you want to know, whether its a simple song or a theory lesson. I usually leave it up to the student to guide me on what they want to be taught, I find this keeps the lesson relevant and relaxed, thus meaning that each lesson is personalised to your own taste helping you achieve your goals quicker.
