I teach others in the way I teach myself. I take on a holistic approach based on embodied experience and bringing into awareness the 'know-how'. Concretely, I deliver lessons as short but intermittent presentations to leave out space for questions and discussions between one topic to another.
Teaching is based on knowing the needs of your students and working with a range of ideas in order to support these needs. It is hard to describe a general methodology when every student is different, and I feel that my experiences give me the ability to recognise these needs and make content accessible, engaging and interesting based on individual needs and interests.
I'm professional in nature, but also believe that it is important to mix up teaching methods as all people learn differently. My plan for first sessions is to work with the student so that we can both find out what works best for them and to address their strength and weaknesses within the subject and to map out a plan for future sessions.
I am an enthusiastic and passionate teacher. I can tutor on humanities and social sciences. I have worked both with higher education and school level students. I believe teaching is about empowering students using their strengths. Knowledge must come from their own development with the content and having me as a catalyst to this process.
I'm Bethany. I'm 21 and based in Colchester. I've completed a history GCSE, history A-Level and now completing a history degree. I like to make learning history fun. I love discussing the incredible parts of history that many people don't know, or maybe the more unusual aspects.
My teaching method is inquiry based critical analysis of topics from contemporary perspectives that enhances students' learning skills. I base my classes notes on slides and appreciate discussion.
I am a friendly teacher who believes students will do well in a subject if they are taught by a patient, warm, fun and friendly tutor - which I am. Students are so pressurised to do well in a subject that a lot of them do not even want to do, they were forced to do it, so for them to do well they will need an understanding teacher that can relate to them with care not force. This is what I offer.
I'm a young, friendly and passionate history student who has recent experience and knowledge of taking GCSE and A-Level exams in humanities subjects, and I am keen to pass on my experience to others and help them succeed.
I am a student at Colchester Royal Grammar School, currently studying A-levels in History, Biology, Geography and German. I am offering tutoring for GCSE students (years 10 and 11) having received grade 9s (top grade) in my GCSEs.
I provide online tutoring to impart advice on content and technique to help you better understand and like your subject. The tutoring sessions can be totally tailored to your needs; you just tell me what you want to get out of the lessons, and I'll help.
I am a history graduate, specialising in German history but with a keen knowledge in other early modern areas. I will be offering an arena for a debate, based on readings that will be provided. This would be an opportunity to expand your knowledge and understanding of this period, assisting you in writing a great essay.
I am passionate about history, I particularly enjoy research, including one research project I did which has been used by a historian at Oxford University. I teach by working through past papers, guiding students through the approach to an exam, particularly with regards to writing a good essay. For music this may also involve analysing pieces of music and teaching theory.
