I am a patient, friendly and flexible individual looking to tutor children aged 7-18. I obtained my BA History degree from Durham University in 2017, thus I am particularly knowledgeable in this subject area. However, I am also keen to aid learning in Psychology, Latin, Religious Education and/or English. I can also teach primary school children in any subject area.
My teaching Methodology is student focused through presentation of the subject. I believe if students can see it, it will better help them understand the subject and topic easier.
I give lessons up to A-level. I aim to make my lessons as challenging and possible by giving students authentic texts and input. I aim to show students what excellence looks like by using my expertise and modelling outstanding answers and showing students how to construct these.

My preferred teaching methods revolve around collaboration. In ESL lessons, for example, I might provide a set text like a poem or a film extract. I am a student at Colchester Royal Grammar School, currently studying A-levels in History, Biology, Geography and German. I am offering tutoring for GCSE students (years 10 and 11) having received grade 9s (top grade) in my GCSEs.
A wide range of teaching methodologies is my moto by being flexible and responsive to student's needs. Patience, challenge and inspiration are key to getting the best results for students. I use a mix of traditional and modern strategies including use of modern teaching technology.
I am an enthusiastic and passionate teacher. I can tutor on humanities and social sciences. I have worked both with higher education and school level students. I believe teaching is about empowering students using their strengths. Knowledge must come from their own development with the content and having me as a catalyst to this process.
I'm professional in nature, but also believe that it is important to mix up teaching methods as all people learn differently. My plan for first sessions is to work with the student so that we can both find out what works best for them and to address their strength and weaknesses within the subject and to map out a plan for future sessions.
I am a friendly teacher who believes students will do well in a subject if they are taught by a patient, warm, fun and friendly tutor - which I am. Students are so pressurised to do well in a subject that a lot of them do not even want to do, they were forced to do it, so for them to do well they will need an understanding teacher that can relate to them with care not force. This is what I offer.
