I base my classes around a starting point, and see where the interests of the students lie and go from there! My main interests and research lie in American History - however, my degree has exposed me to a great deal of other areas of history and politics.
My teaching method is very trust based as I will teach and assist with any questions the student has about their course and will give assignments but i expect my students to be trusted to work independently and have the courage to ask questions, know how to ask for help and hand in work or complete tasks within deadlines.
My lessons are aimed at GSCE and A-Level students, in particular towards perfecting coursework. Since many different subjects are covered in History courses, I tailor as possible to the needs of each individual student. That said, I focus on methodology and written ability.
I approach each topic or concept with the student in mind, I'll help them wherever they need me to, and I'll do my best to ensure they understand it well. I keep a relaxed atmosphere and the structure of each lesson will revolve around what the student needs.
My teaching method is fundamentally collaborative. The pupil and I will identify the areas which need the closest attention and work together to create a comprehensive overview of their subject in accordance with the curriculum and exam specifications. The most important thing a pupil can take away from our sessions is a growing sense of confidence in their ability to master the subject.
I base my teaching methods on the student once finding out exactly what they aim to achieve from our sessions, and once learning what their weaknesses are in regards to studying History. I can help with coursework and essay structures, homework and primary sources, as well as giving an overall lesson on their topic.
My teaching method is to approach each topic individually. One brush is not sufficient when covering History topics. Some require a broader approach, looking at key themes over periods of time. Others require a more in depth look into specifics in order to truly understand events.
Discover Students individual strengths and weaknesses..encourage always ..give exam technique guidance, model answers full content notes and organised question spotting.Essay planning,Examiners reports, remote tutorials and remedial visits.Essay marking service.note evaluation and revision planning.UCAS and Personal statement planning.
My method of teaching is to teach to the level the person learning is at, and build from there. It is important to have a goal to aim for, and to understand where you are in relation to that goal so that appropriate lessons can be planned out .
I teach from KS3, up to and including, A-Level. I base my lessons around the knowledge, strengths and preferences of the student - some students love writing, others prefer to use diagrams, others prefer video clips or podcasts. I get to know my students well so I can understand their learning styles.
My teaching methodology is adaptive depending on the subject and the person/people, and whether I'm teaching 1 to 1 or in a group. Sometimes teaching outdoors is more engaging and effective, sometimes in a focused indoor classroom is more appropriate. I can be imaginative and creative to make the subject interesting for students so that they are motivated to continue.
My methodology is to highlight areas which you struggle, identify the level of knowledge you have in the area, explain and enhance understanding using new materials and verbal explanation (sometimes reading is not enough) of the area and then test using verbal questions and writing tasks
i am a history student looking to tutor people at GCSE level and possibly A level, the tutoring would act as a sort of revision mechanism to aid learning and ill help people grasp ways in which to help memorise key dates and important information to remeber which will help aid when it comes to essay writing and exams
Dedicated and certified history teacher and journalist, with masters degree and 17 years of work experience in schools and media. Have a passion for education and journalism. Committed to student success, with excellent verbal and communication skills, willing to accept challenges.
I can provide tutorials for any level from A Levels to post-graduate. I aim to ensure that not only do my students have a good grasp of their subject, but also that they develop a good level of critical thinking, and where applicable are able to apply what they have learned to real life circumstances.
I am a very patient and rounded facilitator who likes to be in the know of things so as to keep my lesson up to date and interesting.I mainly base my class/lesson on the KWL strategy(K- what you know, W- what you want to know and L- what did or have you learnt). The above gives me an clear view of how well my students are grasping a lesson and what improvement is needed.
I like to teach through conversation and memory exercises. I have created a number of unique resources to encourage fact recall, but also to improve knowledge and ability in structuring essays in a way that impresses examiners and boosts grades.
I am available to tutor students at any level up to A-Level. I can easily adapt the way I tutor in order to suit the individual. However, I predominantly use visual aids and step by step guides in order to achieve the end result.
To pass on my knowledge as effectively as possible! I will spend as long as it takes to get to a level where both the student and tutor are comfortable.
• Teaching GCSE History, AS and A2 History and Government & Politics • I am a big believer in visual learning. History and Politics can often become too abstract so I like to visually represent the connections between ideas, events, etc. on a piece of paper or whiteboard to give a much clearer picture.
I am an A-level student studying Modern History, Law and English Literature. I am currently look to offer history lessons but can also offer tutorials on the other subject. My method of teaching interactive yet note taking, I present different styles of revision including mind maps, flashcards and extensive notes.
As a university student, I am always writing essays and know just how hard writing can be. I offer tutoring not only in content, but in the writing of essays themselves. I believe in the importance of alternative learning methods, including tasks, videos, and audio.
I'd say I'm very straight to the point, but not overwhelming. I'm a big fan of fact sheets, so summaries will be sent accordingly, as I have always found short notes to be helpful from lessons. Frankly, I'd take a somewhat informal approach to tutoring, whilst still providing you with the information you need.
When you contact me I will run through an initial session to work out what you believe are your weaknesses, and also to chat about how you find the subject and and what you are looking to gain from tutoring sessions.
Depending on subject of teaching I chose my methods of it. In history and philosophy I prefer to use a dialogue and method of conversation instead of just remembering dates and historical facts. In all studies i prefer understanding prior to blindly knowledge of facts. When in comet so some sports activities and fitness industry I always chose experience and examples over theory itself.
I give lessons to all levels of capability, approaching each section in a methodical way. Setting out each theme in terms of exam applicability. I am a rather calm person and am very flexible in adapting to what your personal issues are.
I work very interactively, and make sure the student directs the areas we study. I am a very relaxed and cheerful person. I pride myself in being approachable and helpful. I am very adept with computers and have first-rate research skills.
Firstly I only ever teach one to one where I would initially test the person on their chosen subject and through discussion ascertain level of knowledge, cognitive function and effectiveness to their learning methods. Everybody learns in different ways be that through physical actions/experimenting or more orally and lecture based.
My teaching method is based on providing knowledge and making sure it retained. I do this by using short reading exercises followed by quizzes and activities. I also provide my students with engaging academic papers to read in their spare time, which I believe helps them to develop an academic writing style.
Friendly and down to earth with a pinch of humour thrown in. My lessons will be engaging and supportive and will tackle all aspects of geography. I can look at essays or go through some exam practice. The student is at the heart of the learning and will lead the lesson to areas in which they feel they need extra study support with.
