I like to teach through conversation and memory exercises. I have created a number of unique resources to encourage fact recall, but also to improve knowledge and ability in structuring essays in a way that impresses examiners and boosts grades.
I am available to tutor students at any level up to A-Level. I can easily adapt the way I tutor in order to suit the individual. However, I predominantly use visual aids and step by step guides in order to achieve the end result.
To pass on my knowledge as effectively as possible! I will spend as long as it takes to get to a level where both the student and tutor are comfortable.
• Teaching GCSE History, AS and A2 History and Government & Politics • I am a big believer in visual learning. History and Politics can often become too abstract so I like to visually represent the connections between ideas, events, etc. on a piece of paper or whiteboard to give a much clearer picture.
I am an A-level student studying Modern History, Law and English Literature. I am currently look to offer history lessons but can also offer tutorials on the other subject. As a university student, I am always writing essays and know just how hard writing can be. I offer tutoring not only in content, but in the writing of essays themselves. I believe in the importance of alternative learning methods, including tasks, videos, and audio.
I'd say I'm very straight to the point, but not overwhelming. I'm a big fan of fact sheets, so summaries will be sent accordingly, as I have always found short notes to be helpful from lessons. Frankly, I'd take a somewhat informal approach to tutoring, whilst still providing you with the information you need.
When you contact me I will run through an initial session to work out what you believe are your weaknesses, and also to chat about how you find the subject and and what you are looking to gain from tutoring sessions.
I give lessons to all levels of capability, approaching each section in a methodical way. Setting out each theme in terms of exam applicability. I am a rather calm person and am very flexible in adapting to what your personal issues are.
Firstly I only ever teach one to one where I would initially test the person on their chosen subject and through discussion ascertain level of knowledge, cognitive function and effectiveness to their learning methods. Everybody learns in different ways be that through physical actions/experimenting or more orally and lecture based.
My teaching method is based on providing knowledge and making sure it retained. I do this by using short reading exercises followed by quizzes and activities. I also provide my students with engaging academic papers to read in their spare time, which I believe helps them to develop an academic writing style.
Friendly and down to earth with a pinch of humour thrown in. My lessons will be engaging and supportive and will tackle all aspects of geography. I can look at essays or go through some exam practice. The student is at the heart of the learning and will lead the lesson to areas in which they feel they need extra study support with.

My teaching method is very patient, efficient and I like to be quite relaxed and relatable with my teaching style to students. My lessons are interactive and help students relate content to everyday life, which I believe is especially important when studying a subject such as psychology.
I can cater teaching methods to each individual student as everyone learns differently. I can also cater the periods I teach to suit the qualification and different exam boards. I shall try to keep individual study to a minimum during sessions, and prefer to promote discussion in order to promote self-discovery and reinforce ideas.
I've normally given lessons to school-age pupils.
I structure my educational programs by clearly defined goals and targets for the prospective student. Through different levels of program, each student can assess what works best for them and thus how I can offer them the best experience possible. Entry level, Intermediate, and Advanced programs are all on offer.
Previous experience in tutoring GCSE Level German has shown me the importance of tailoring teaching methods to the individual student and the way in which they learn best. By being knowledgeable in a wide field, I have an advantage over most in regards to what I can teach. Keeping fit and active allows me to learn and absorb more, and not forgetting it makes me a happier person all round! I already work with younger people in a church environment. I help them to discover who they are as individuals and also consider some bigger questions.
I tutor primarily GCSE and A Level students in history, geography and am willing to consider general studies and other subjects under the humanities arch. I am currently in my first year of study of (BA) History and International Relations, and having received an A* in History and an A in English at A level, am keen to provide aid for exams I have recently excelled at. My lessons will target the needs of individual students, be skilled focused instead of content focused, as I believe this will improve on work already being done for these subjects.
I specialise in improving students' essay writing and grasp of the key elements that facilitate this. I achieve this by helping students analyse different types of essay questions, their respective demands and how to think through and plan their response to each question before writing down their answer.
The heart of any good education is a passion for what you are learning about. Politics, Sociology and History are the beating heart of the human story and with my tutelage we can together improve not only your grades but your perspective as well.
I take great satisfaction from helping to guide children and young people encouraging them to think for themselves. I believe that young people should be taught, when appropriate, how to think and not what to think, while of course following the curriculum. I have a Masters degree in Contemporary History and Politics from Birkbeck College, University of London.
My method of teaching is based on an active and participative method with the student in order to make the material as interesting as possible and allow the student to more easily retain. It is also based on my personal experience and the many hours of lessons that I have already given in Belgium.
