My main aim is to make history and politics relatable to students. By using popular culture, including Doctor Who and James Bond, for instance, I try to breathe life into the discipline making the learning process memorable and engaging for students. Lessons will encourage students to use the past to make sense of the present.
I have been teaching for four years now, and have been a marker for the Scottish Qualifications Authority for two years. I work by ensuring my students feel comfortable and know what they want to achieve, I then get to know a bit about them and how they like to learn before setting up a plan to help them achieve their full potential.
My method consists in stimulating the student through the critical thinking. The philosophical method makes possible to approach any topic within Humanities and beyond with a renewed interest. Questioning everything is the key to the more complete understanding. The focus is always on the student's needs and the lessons are every time differently tailored on these necessities.
I am a student at the University of Nottingham, I study Contemporary Chinese studies. I graduated from the University of York with an MA in Medieval History in 2014 before going into finance. I have recently quit my job and plan to return to university in the next year for formal teacher training. When teaching I tend to focus first on building a solid base understanding of the topic before introducing different schools of theory and close source analysis.
My name is Christina Coe and I am twenty three years old. I graduated in 2015 with a 2:1 (Hons) degree in History from the University of Reading. My lessons are tailored to fit the tutee's needs. During the first lesson, I get to know the tutee's strengths and weaknesses by working on areas the tutee wants to improve. Then I will create a plan that you are happy with.
I am a passionate teacher and historian. My philosophy to teaching is simple: it should be enjoyable! I want to convey my passion for history to inspire others to learn. I am currently reading for my PhD in British colonial history.
My tutoring for those working towards an exam has a three-fold approach: understanding, past-papers, and essay technique. Firstly, I want to make sure that that core topics for exams (as per exam specifications) are thoroughly understood and relevant facts or quotes are memorised.
I am mostly skills based as to ensure one is not just learning the curriculum but has a wider understanding of why a particular topic matters. I believe that learning is something to be enjoyed, however, this does not mean a student should not work hard.

I enjoy helping GCSE students tackle difficulties in their work, by identifying what they most difficult and finding practical solutions to these. As a visual learner myself, I particularly find it is helpful to teach using mind maps and timelines, but I believe it is most important to identify the best way that an individual learns and adapt to that.
I give lessons to students at secondary level, for both GCSE and AS/ A Level history subjects. I think the best way to teach is to understand what marker's are looking for. We will do this through engaging with source material and working with improving analytical writing, beneficial for both coursework and examinations.
It is impossible to learn the whole of history's curriculum; however, there are specific ways to apply the knowledge and formulate sound historical arguments. I provide tutoring to improve an individual's exam confidence and technique, so that they can feel proficient when entering in to an exam.
Hi, I'm Ryan, a friendly and reliable history student at Swansea University. I have always found teaching one of my natural abilities and love sharing my knowledge with others. I tend to have a more interactive approach to most of the teachers I've ever met simply because I understand that not everyone learns by just writing information out of a book.
