I offer Tutoring to A Level and GCSE history students. I am an energetic, engaging and patient teacher who structures lessons around YOU. I will always adapt my lesson plan to help you the best I possibly can, which will include exams, exam practise, knowledge recaps and revision techniques. I aim to make tutoring fun and rewarding for you so I can share my love of the past with others.
I create an inspiring and challenging environment for each student, responding to their individual needs, abilities and interests, and personalise teaching plans accordingly. Dedicated and ambitious, I aim for each student to build confidence and achieve their full potential.
My method of teaching is developing a series of notes as a main guide, and then developing on those notes through the session, accompanied by a PowerPoint presentation. I base my teaching method on the same way my teachers did through my time studying at A-levels, and how my current tutors take classes now.
I'm very happy to give lessons to GCSE and A level students, particularly A level students who may be interested in applying to Oxbridge. My lessons are flexible to my students, but I prefer to study history by theme, and look at politics primarily through institutions and ideologies.
My approach changes from student to student. Generally, I find an informal approach yields the best results. I am incredibly passionate about history so I will be as keen to explore the period as the student; help them find any gaps in their knowledge and try to fill them together.
My teaching mode is interactive and l try make sure that my student is involved and also able to ask question as l believe the more questions you ask the more you learn. In addition l try make each lesson a different experience by adding new ways to ask questions such as bringing articles relating to the subject matter.
I'm a patient, encouraging and reliable tutor that gives History, French and Spanish lessons to GCSE level. In history, my main GCSE areas are Medicine Through Time, Norman England, Germany (1890-1945) and WWI. In lessons I relay my knowledge through clear explanations and information sheets that I made when revising for my own GCSE exams, in which I achieved the A* equivalent (grade 9).
I believe students can exceed their expectations if they are shown how to succeed. Many students underperform due to a lack of confidence and my aim has always been to build confidence through small winnable steps that leads to success.
I am a firm believer in fostering original thought, alongside recognising the need to utilise this knowledge in a way that compliments the mark scheme. I believe that how one answers a question, is just as important as the content of the response. Therefore my lessons are divided into two broad areas, content, and exam technique, which is often the hardest part of studying History and Politics.
I base my lessons on J. A. Comenius methods - "School as a game" - learning through simple “nature’s way”, that is, learning based on having fun by connecting gained and new knowledge instead of memorizing.
My teaching method is I build up from what the student had been doing themselves is cue cards work then we’ll work with that. I will create an overview of the things we are going to go over so that we can see what to focus on, at the end I’ll go over the work and ask corresponding questions.
As I am a Master's Ancient History and Archaeology student, I have the independent skills necessary to deliver concise lesson plans that will greatly benefit any potential student in a quick, methodological and effective manner. I am also able to pinpoint exam technique which is a crucial element for success.
My particular skill set lies in essay-writing, revision and exam preparation, as these are all skills which are being refined throughout my degree. While the essay style that I teach is especially applicable for A Level exams, it is also useful for those studying at GCSE - though I am certainly able to accommodate for students at Key Stage 3 or below.
I tutor GCSE humanity subjects (History, English and Geography). My teaching method as an essay based tutor is to make concise notes on each topic and note key events/dates. Once the necessary knowledge has been covered then I like to focus on exam technique. Watching videos can be very beneficial aswell, especially for visual learners.
I firmly believe in a mixed teaching methodology, blending visual, written and oral elements to suit the needs of the pupils.
I aim to teach through grasping the strengths of students and working towards enhancing those and improving weaknesses to ensure a comfortable and fulfilling experience, where I want to build the confidence of the student so they feel they can approach any academic task with belief in themselves and with the ability to do brilliantly.
I am currently working in research and development for the Asphalt Industry. I will give lessons to those who are currently preparing for KS3 and GCSE Geography or related subjects. I have several years learning Geography up to Degree level. I can teach on a one to one basis or a small group (no more than 3).
My teaching method is perfect for those who depend on one on one sessions. I like to identify from the student a specific area and then delve into a variety of specifics and details that are relevant to their question. I typically will ask them to answer some questions verbally to see if they understand what I've been talking about.
I love being a part of the learning experience for young people as they take on board information and process its often varied meanings. Believing it important to teach using a variety of methods to engage learners and prevent repetition when studying.
My teaching method is highly individualized. I start by assessing the skills the the student has already and comparing them to the skills the student needs to have in order to succeed. I then design lessons that will help them gain those skills. I do a lot of hands on work, such as primary sources and writing skills.
I conduct a Needs Assessment Analysis with tutees to try and gauge their learning styles and previous knowledge. I then approach each topic being taught within the subject area using guided discovery strategies, whereby students not only learn to take responsibility for their own learning, but are simultaneously taught how to learn.

A focus on building confidence in key universal themes and ideas coupled onto which detail can be attached. This is coupled with highly specific exam technique practice to hone the skills required to succeed. An overview of the time period or topic will be created with course specific details filled in later.
I can cater to various students but my primary audeience would be children/ secondary and A-level students that wish to gain a greater understanding of these topics from a comfortable start and exploring further into these subjects depending on their grasp on the information they are given.
The lessons I provide will match your syllabus, but I encourage students to push themselves further, so they are not only able to pass their exams, but most importantly become better historians. History is not a difficult subject, but is often made complicated by a single style of teaching, however students need to try out a multitude of methods to find out which way works out best.
My teaching method seeks to improve three aspects: Critical Reading Skills, Comprehension, Reasoning and Writing. My listens involve reviewing relevant reading materials (provided by you) or sample texts I provide. We will work on breaking down and analyzing the structure texts. The next aspect will involve writing sample arguments, by learning how to write structured outlines.
I approach each topic with my student’s ability and style in mind. I work with them on the lessons they have covered in class and I reaffirm their knowledge with the aid of the course work book and my own resources . The lesson will be structured and tailored to the student’s specific needs . I tutor all ages and levels .
I tend to focus on exam technique and study skills. Making information memorable and accessible to anyone, and making sure that a student knows how to answer an exam question can make any subject 100 times easier. Different techniques work for different students, and I see the importance in being able to adapt to particular needs and attitudes.
I want my classes to be open and friendly, and based on discussion around a particular topic. I am a friendly and personable person, and create an environment where the student can feel relaxed and able to ask anything they want about particular subject.
I prefer my teaching to be fun and engaging. Rather than learning in a sedentary manner, I find the most positive form of teaching is through digestible chunks, which are tested through games at the end of the lesson.
