Italian is a rather complicated language, but it's not impossible! Whether it is in preparation for a holiday in the sun or a University course, my lessons will give my students the ability to learn the basics of conversational Italian in just a few weeks. My lessons are structured in two parts: reading/writing and conversation.
Language is connection - and it gives me great satisfaction to see how my work as a teacher of German, Italian and English languages enables my students to achieve the ability to make that connection with other people in different parts of the world. I always aim at keeping students engaged in my lessons, giving them the support and tools they need to improve.
I use modern techniques for teaching. Teaching a language is not just about the grammar and I always try to make my students speak as much as possible during my lessons. The final goal is learning to communicate with othe people.
I firmly believe that the best way to learn languages is by communication and immersion in the culture of the country from which the language derives, and for this reason, my lessons focus both on speaking and literature on culture, providing a well-rounded approach to language.
I’m an enthusiastic individual, and I believe that to learn one has to be both disciplined and passionate about what they do.
I am willing to tutor GCSE and A level Italian, encouraging students to learn through conversation and acting out real-life situations.
I based my lessons on a comunicative approach. It emphasizes the learner’s ability to communicate various functions, such as asking and answering questions, making requests, describing, narrating and comparing. task assignment and problem solving are the means through which the communicative approach operates, two key components of critical thinking.
My teaching method is firstly understanding how the student learns best and adapting my own way of teaching to his/her way of learning. Learning a new language can be challenging; however, based on personal experience, if this is done in a fun way and whilst also learning about the culture, it becomes a lot easier and in no time you can become fluent in it.
I am extremely passionate about languages and I want to share this with High School Students in order for them to understand the important of languages and how fun they can be to learn! I really want to use my language skills to help pupils succeed in their exams.
I set my teaching depending on the person who is before me. This is why before commencing with any teaching itself, I get the students to take a couple of questionnaires (with ethical protocols and data-protection documentation being provided) which will help me get a better idea as to their most effective learning way.

Hi!! I'm Donatella and I am a qualified Language Teacher. I am dedicated to my work and my approach to teaching is based on active learning experience. I believe the best way to learn is to enjoy, that's why each course or session will be tailored to your individual needs and interests.
My teaching approch is very much on encouraging you to use your language skills in life conversation. I believe that focusing on verbal communication skills quickly builds your confidence and your enjoyment of the new language. I am familiar with the use of IT and I strongly believe in its effectiveness in languages.
I can help pupils with all the four areas of the Italian language in preparation for their exams: reading, writing, listening and speaking. This applies to both GCSE and A level exams. I had a year abroad in Italy and I am confident in the language.
I use interactive lessons for all courses. When teaching language I tend to only speak in that language and to deifne unknown words in that same language so that students can get used to the accent, pronunciation and challenges of learning a new language from scratch.
I usually teach in my native language , Italian .This is the most direct and quickest way to learn a new language .I can use also the traditional method with a text and explanations in English .It depends really from student s preferences. I give lessons at all levels and my students usually learn very quickly .My lessons are relaxed and fun .
The most effective way to learn a new language is by immersing oneself in it.
Italian mother tongue, very friendly and highly professional, experienced language tutor. Worked for journalists of NEWS International in London and many private students. I normally achieve excellent results.
I give lessons to beginners who want to learn Italian. my lessons will start off easy and gradually become slightly harder.and the end of the session I will give a quiz on the topic thought and will go over anything that was misunderstood.
I love the idea of sharing knowledge and skills with students. I see tutoring as a mutual exchange of ideas and experience. In my lessons, I try to adapt themes and topics to students' personalities and needs and to make my lessons always challenging.
The methodology I use depends on the level, the age and the purpose of the student. With younger students, It is important to be fun and creative: I use videos and games. Adults, generally, have a professional purpose or they want to be prepared for a special holiday: I focus on the specific vocabulary and the necessary grammar.
My teaching methods depend on the student I teach. I like to plan my work before I start teaching, so that productive work can be done by myself and the student.
Tutoring based on correct grammar and practice (listening to videos etc.) of real Italian (often halfway between Italian and dialects), origin of Italian and English words when they come from Latin, Italian culture and arts (i.e. songs), traditions, cuisine, geography, fun facts, politics etc.
I always try to attend to students learning methods and do not stick to one approach if I can tell the student is not responding to it well. How enjoyable the student finds the work is always a main priority of mine, as this will make the work a lot more approachable and will help retain the information.
My teaching methodology is really flexible based on the student choice. What I would do is to create a study plan , write it down with all the different points and goals to achieve during the course and discuss about it with my student and deciding together what kind of methodology to use.
