I am a recent graduate with a Bachelors of Mathematics (Hons.) from the University of Leeds, Class of 2017. As I have only recently left the education system, and hence have not long completed the different levels of schooling, I believe I am very well placed to offer up-to-date advice and solutions to students. I am offering advice, support and help to students of all levels, A-level and below.
I focus on embedding a higher understanding of mathematical theories and concepts, using the most efficient strategies, which encourages independent learning and promotes problem solving abilities.
In my personal experience the best way to become a competent mathematician is by applying the mathematical theory to answer questions. For this reason my tutorials will follow a structure of a theory recap for the current topic before introducing personalized questions including exam questions which increase in difficulty.
I currently teach Maths in schools from y7 up to GCSE. I can tutor with any maths topic up to and including A level, due to achieving A* in both Maths and Further Maths at A-level. I believe the best way to revise and learn is to work through examinations questions, but I am open to any other method of learning and will teach any topic you feel you need help on.
I can provide one to one or group tutoring for students at KS3 and/or GCSE level. My main focus for all sessions is to ensure that the student is making progress and enjoying learning. I will do this by adapting each session to suit the students preferred learning styles and topics necessary for their development.
- Classes Children follow a programme, the starting point being determined by an initial assessment. The maths programme is pure maths - from number recognition to GCSE algebra. It includes topics such as shape, time, measurement, area/perimeter, series, etc. We will also help with applied topics as required. We can provide practice papers for school exams (KS1, KS2, GCSE).
