My teaching method is determined partly by the nature of the learner. On one to one sessions, I engage with the learner to figure out topics they find challenging and need help with. I ensure students are comfortable and by starting with simpler questions on topics, I build up learner's confidence.

My teaching method is designed around offering real life examples to base abstract theory on. Children and young adults often struggle with abstract topics (famously algebra) I design my lessons to entice their curiosity, prove the real life worth of a topic and promote mathematical reasoning, problem solving and a deeper understanding (or maths mastery).
I am a recent graduate with a Bachelors of Mathematics (Hons.) from the University of Leeds, Class of 2017. As I have only recently left the education system, and hence have not long completed the different levels of schooling, I believe I am very well placed to offer up-to-date advice and solutions to students. I am offering advice, support and help to students of all levels, A-level and below.
I focus on embedding a higher understanding of mathematical theories and concepts, using the most efficient strategies, which encourages independent learning and promotes problem solving abilities.
In my personal experience the best way to become a competent mathematician is by applying the mathematical theory to answer questions. For this reason my tutorials will follow a structure of a theory recap for the current topic before introducing personalized questions including exam questions which increase in difficulty.
I currently teach Maths in schools from y7 up to GCSE. I can tutor with any maths topic up to and including A level, due to achieving A* in both Maths and Further Maths at A-level. I believe the best way to revise and learn is to work through examinations questions, but I am open to any other method of learning and will teach any topic you feel you need help on.
I can provide one to one or group tutoring for students at KS3 and/or GCSE level. My main focus for all sessions is to ensure that the student is making progress and enjoying learning. I will do this by adapting each session to suit the students preferred learning styles and topics necessary for their development.
- Classes Children follow a programme, the starting point being determined by an initial assessment. The maths programme is pure maths - from number recognition to GCSE algebra. It includes topics such as shape, time, measurement, area/perimeter, series, etc. We will also help with applied topics as required. We can provide practice papers for school exams (KS1, KS2, GCSE).
I cater my teaching methods to each client. Everybody learns differently so I have a wide variety of skills that are able to help each individual student. I give lessons to people doing A levels and GCSEs within my subjects.
I can very easily adapt my teaching style to the style that is best suited to the student. I work well with children, taking great satisfaction from them enjoying learning and seeing their progress. I am able to create an inspiring learning environment even though the lessons are online. I aim to make the lesson memorable by keeping it fun, colourful and engaging.
My teaching method usually revolves around taking a different approach to the type of question by creating a fun way that the solution can be remembered easily. This is done by songs, rhymes, or actions. For exam revision, I can provide a wide range of professionally created flash cards and offer my own ways of learning.
My teaching method is to assume my pupil needs to understand the very basics before moving onto anything further. We take things step by step at your pace. I am a good listener as well as a good teacher and am aware each pupil is different and requires a different approach.
I believe that the key to learning is finding a way that works for you no matter your age or experience. I will take time to understand your personal strengths and weaknesses so that together we can create lessons which are not boring. In the past this has included turning formula into songs and learning through using multiple senses.
Adaptability (flexibility, adjustability, versatility, re-evaluate the student’s objectives as they progress) Energy (motivation, enthusiasm, interpersonal skills) Openness (accessibility, availability, involvement, empathy) Humility (respect, discernment, acceptance) I give students individualised attention that they don't get in a crowded classroom.
My teaching revolves mainly around the student. I believe everyone should and can be able to do Maths to a good standard and look for ways in which is beneficial to the student depending on their learning technique such as interactive, images, text and videos.
During any session I will identify the problems the student currently has and find relevant questions (past paper or otherwise) to help explain, and eventually, overcome the problem. I primarily will use questions and past papers but am open to any techniques the student believes may be helpful.
I have had a love of and enthusiasm for Mathematics since an early age and like to enable others to understand the concepts. The format of lessons I provide will be flexible according to the requirements of the student. - Which subject(s) do you teach? I teach Mathematics and Statistics. - Tell me about your qualifications.
I started tutoring in 2012 and in 2015 I became a full-time private tutor. I graduated with a First Class BA(Hons) English Literature from Edge Hill University in 2014 and have a full DBS.
I like to be an open and supportive tutor so that you feel confident to ask questions and take things back to basics before attempting the more challenging problem solving questions. My lessons are interactive and enjoyable with the main focus being depth of learning.

I use a mixture of paper and computer based technologies in my approach as I find the contrast is more motivational. I begin by identifying key gaps in knowledge and then develop a program to address the individual needs of the student.
Tutoring gives me the chance to tailor make my lessons to match my students needs. I start by assessing my student so that I can plan my lessons in advance based on each child’s individual needs.
I have only recently completed my degree so I am looking to start tutoring and gain some experience in the field. I strongly believe maths can be understood by anyone it just takes the right way of explaining things in a way that the student understands.
I am willing to teach anything from secondary to A Level, and will be flexible according to the needs of the student. My lessons could involve explanations of the concepts involved in a particular topic, working through examples and going through tests/student's work.
I have recently completed an Integrated Masters degree in Chemistry at the University of Leeds. Throughout my time here, I have been able to develop excellent communication skills through regular group work and presentations, meaning I can explain difficult concepts in a straightforward manner.
I have taught GCSE Mathenatics as a freelance tutor for over ten years. I also teach on a supply basis in local FE colleges in the Northwest of England. I use the internet to help students understand requirements of the exam.
My teaching method is flexible to the student, I can adapt my teaching style to how the students learn best and what gets the best out of the students!
