I am a full-time independent private tutor. I am a retired teacher of physics and mathematics, and have worked as a private tutor since retirement. I call myself Christine's Maths & Physics Tuition. I tutor because I love doing it.
I am keen to tutor students just starting secondary school maths all the way up to those taking their final Levels. My aim as a tutor is to help students gain a more fluent and natural understanding of mathematics so they can quickly deconstruct problems and find efficient and beautiful ways of finding the solution.
I like to teach by first understanding students weaknesses and building confidence through repeated tasks and working through until secure in the mind. This means constant revision as I will be revisiting things to ensure topics stick in minds. I find math comes fairly easy to me so I feel that I am able to sport peoples problems easily and help them with efficiency.
Hello. I have plenty of experience of tailoring and adapting maths & science tutor sessions to individuals, am friendly and like to get the best out of my tutees in an informal but effective atmoshpere.
I have experience of tutoring one to one as well as small groups. I can accommodate learning difficulties; dyslexia, dyscalculia and ADHD. I have a supportive and empathic learning style and use kinaesthetic teaching tools as well as traditional paper based methods. I can work to any exam board and follow the curriculum. My students get good results in a supportive teaching way.
I am a patient and enthusiastic teacher and I enjoy working with students of all abilities from GCSE up to further maths A-level. I use lots of example questions when teaching, as the most successful way to learn mathematics is through practise.
I provide a personalised service aimed at delivering results based on the needs of the learner. Consultation with all parties concerned helps deliver these results.
My teaching method is very friendly. I think it works best if the student chooses a topic they are struggling with, then we go through it and then do some questions on it. I find that if the students find their own resources/use revision guides with practice questions in, it is a much more efficient lesson. It also teaches the students how to get resources.
Every single child is different. I like to work with the students strengths to engage and further their mathematical understanding.
With new students I will test them accordingly to their syllabus. From there I will pick up on what they are struggling ,go through individual topics ,practice and giving exam style questions. I always get the best out of my students and tailor my teaching dependent on the student.
The teaching will be within which criteria’s you are most struggling with and contain the basics of each topic and progressing up to the higher level of your selected topic, there will be a wide range of different activities depending on how you wish to learn whether it is more visual or practice based. My aim is to work round how you best wish to learn.
As a Primary Specialist I have indepth knowledge of the Primary National Curriculum. I am happy to provide tailored tutoring to KS1 and KS2 children including SATs practice. I have strong maths knowledge and can tutor up to GCSE level. My lessons use a range of concrete, pictorial and abstract representations to support full understanding of a range of mathematical concepts.
I am happy to give lessons at any level from those completing GCSEs to finishing their first year at university. When teaching physics I am a firm believer in problem based learning and aim to use examples to illuminate any key concepts whenever possible.
I will do worksheets provide on what they are doing in school at the time. And i will also help with there homework.
I specialise in advising on how students can get from a B/C to an A in order to apply to top University courses. It is hard work for both of us but I am able to support and motivate students. I am also very familiar with the questions that students have not asked and are often too nervous to ask in class for fear of appearing stupid. Most students in every maths class think the same.
My teaching methodology is working through exercise books one on one and offering advice and support, plus creating flash cards and fun activities to help memory. Students are free to ask for help on any of their topics they're finding difficult.
I graduated from the University of Bristol with a first class master in chemistry this July. I spent the third year if my studies in France where all my exams, lectures and labs were in French. I have therefore obtained a professional level of French. I tutor chemistry from primary level to undergraduate. I tutor maths until A-Level and French until GCSE.
I believe in connecting theory with the practical application and governs my subject around practical applications and examples related to day today's life.
My aim is always to make sure the student understands, different people understand at different rates and i am there to help and aid the student always. i can help the student understand as i have been helping student who struggled before so i kind of know how to approach the student in a way to make the mathematical questions seem simple and easy.
I ask in advance to the student what is the topic that needs to be covered in the next lesson in order to prepare the lesson in advance. I provide a theoretical explanation of the subject followed up by practical examples and exercises.
I am a Ph.D. holder in Civil Engineering, under fully funded Scholarship from Schlumberger Foundation. I was among 33 women who were selected for this scholarship among 500 applicants from all over the world that was one of my best achievements during my study tenure. I am in essence someone who is passionate about teaching and research and this dedication led to my Ph.D. degree.
I am studying Mathematics at the University of Manchester and am in my final year, I have specialised in Pure/Core Mathematics and Statistics. I offer my services to anyone wanting to improve their Maths level from Primary age to last year of A-Levels.
- Which subject(s) do you teach? I teach SATS Science, GCSE Biology, Chemistry and Physics, and Biology AS level. - Tell me about your qualifications. Food Science BSc, Secondary science PGCE (Teacher Training). I graduated from Reading University with a food science degree followed by a teacher training course (PGCE).
- Classes Classes are 1 hour and 20 minutes in duration and are broken up into discreet 10 minute activities (including computer, written and practical) to keep the learning fun. Each pupil (in a maximum class size of 5) works on their own learning programme based on their strengths and weaknesses (measured as part of a free educational assessment).
I like to teach what I'm sure I know, so although I have A-level knowledge of chemistry and maths, I only feel comfortable teaching up to GCSE level because I'm confident that I'll have all of the answers. I structure my lessons to first make sure the student first has a good understanding of why things work before teaching how they work.
My method of teaching is to understand my students unique need and provide and explain solution to the problem. Every student is different, therefore understanding how they pick up things is really important for me in order to teach them.
My teaching method is based on the students requirements.
First of all, I find out from students their particular concerns and make them feel at ease so that the learning process becomes enjoyable. I believe in building a good foundation in Basics, i.e., fractions, percentages, decimals, equations, factorisations etc. and plan a course of action for exam revision stressing on solving Past Papers. This method has worked with my students.
My teaching method involves very high interaction encouraging the students to ask many questions as possible. I can structure the classes as per students syllabus or as per their own needs.
I am in the final year of my BSc Hons mathematics degree at the Open University. I struggled with maths in primary school so I had several years of maths tutoring in order to ensure that I passed GCSE maths. My tutor showed me that maths was not impossible and I decided to take it again at A level along with Further Maths AS.
