When tutoring, understanding your students is key.
All my lessons will be built around what the student feels they need to work on. My approach is simple and effective. Review/explain material then extend to practice questions and finally to exam preparation. This method is the style of teaching used at my university and the method I use to prepare for all of my exams. It has been effective for all of my past pupils.
Firstly, I am an A level student studying Mathematics, Further Mathematics, Physics and History (I know, an odd deviation but I love it). I achieved 12 A*s at GCSE level and decided that I should probably help others study for their GCSEs by educating them in the various methods I used while also learning myself, news ways to study and educate.
I’m easy to go with what you want to be taught. I try and make it as fun as possible. I have only taught primary level but could do early secondary too. I enjoyed teaching the boys tricks that their teachers hadn’t to make maths easier for them.
I am understanding and willing to help the students to improve on any work they need help with up to GCSE level. I have little prior experience but I would explain the methods and go through examples and then ask the student to practice the method and help them if they got stuck at any point.
I can give lessons to GCSE or A-level students in Chemistry, Maths and Biology. Lessons will be focused around the student and what they most want to work on. Everyone is different and learns best in a variety of ways so lessons will vary but will aim to be helpful and informative but also enjoyable.
I have a very good understanding of the national curriculum and an excellent knowledge of all the subjects I teach. With that I can go into as much and as little detail as needed. I always find a way of linking subjects together and I break everything down to a simple explanations.
I try to cater to the students needs, by understanding their strengths and finding ways to relate their favourite subjects to Core subjects. I tutor primary right the way through to Alevel. I also tutor Music plus the flute, piano and voice.
My tutoring is ideal for those students that would like to get into the grammar school of their choice by passing the 11+ examination. I specialise in the Maths and Sciences where I'm currently predicted 7 & 8's (equivalent to A & A*). My techniques as a tutor is to make learning exiting and to pass on my level of enthusiasm onto those who I teach.
I am a postgraduate statistics student at the University of Warwick, and I primarily give maths and stats lessons to students from 12-22 years old. I have a first-class MMath Mathematics degree from the University of Bath.
I want children to enjoy their learning, finding it challenging and stimulating. The light bulb moment is what I strive to achieve.
I help A level, GCSE students who want to achieve the best grades they can in maths/science-based subjects. I like to work through questions in order to identify what skills need improving. I like to try and explain difficult-to-remember or understand concepts by simplifying them into fun mnemonics.
My name is Benjamin Bowers, and I recently graduated with a 2.1 from Durham University in Arabic, Economics and Politics. I provide Maths (and Arabic) lessons to students up to GCSE grade. My preferred method of teaching is for students to bring along topics which they are struggling with, and to work through problems with them. I will also provide worksheets.
I am a New Zealander taking a gap year to work and travel in Europe. My teaching method is relaxed but comprehensive. I am I visual learner so I like to use drawing, diagrams, and pictures to help explain. Our lessons will be based a structured plan of what precisely what material you need to learn and when this must be achieved by. I will tutor anyone up to Year 11.
I am an undergraduate student in Physics at Imperial College London, having just finished 2nd year the structure and content of the exams you are taking are still fresh in my mind. My lessons are tailored to suit the individual, whether you want to go over content taught in class or try practice questions with a little guidance.
I do not believe there is a single formula or method to teach students because there is just so much individual variance and I cannot in good faith give details of a teaching methodology. However, understanding the students abilities, likes and dislikes and thought process are things i use to build a system that helps the student achieve their goals.
I am currently an intern with GE Aviation and a MSc Software Engineering at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University. I've completed my BSc in Aerospace Engineering with an addition Minor in Applied Mathematics.
My approach is pupil focused. I will adapt to the needs of the learner. My aproach will assess where a pupil is at. Then work on how best to help the pupil make progress. I also hope to enspire passion for science learning in the pupil.
Enthusiastic, knowledgeable and qualified to teach all areas of the New Primary Curriculum, I provide interesting and engaging lessons designed to appeal to children aged between 5 and 11. I strongly believe that all children can progress given the right environment, and am pleased to be able to facilitate this.
Young, enthusiastic and hungry to improve your learning, I am passionate about helping pupils to reach the highest possible standards in both Mathematics and Economics. I appreciate each student learns through different methods and as a recent Graduate I appreciate this and adapt accordingly to enable students to be the best they can be.
I think the best way is to discover the student's learning style, as everyone is different. From there I can adapt my approach based on what comes most naturally to each student, but I think regular repetition is important for virtually everyone and making sure the student participates as much as possible and has their own input rather than the teacher speaking all the time.
I tutor Secondary, GCSE and A-level pupils in maths. I believe that with hard work anyone can learn to enjoy maths. I can run my lessons from my home or the pupil's home. As every pupil is different, I will adapt my teaching style to the what I think would benefit the pupil most.
Each student is individually different, like I needed an alternate approach to teaching because of my better visual-learning ability, I will adapt my lessons to how the individual learns best. I also understand how important patience is when it comes to teaching so students will not be exposed to unnecessary pressure.
I like to approach the teaching and tuition of both maths and statistics by allowing pupils to gain an understanding of the methodology behind each topic and question type. I believe that once this is understood and mastered, pupils are able to face any question posed to them, inputting the given data set into the methodology that they know so well.
I am adaptable to the tutoring desires of each student and would tailor my teaching accordingly. I can offer specific exam technique targeted tutoring for the science subjects, breaking down how to do past paper questions as I have always found this the method for exam success. If an understanding of the theory is the primary issue, I can break subjects down and start from first principles.

I prefer to teach with the more traditional pen-on-paper style, as I believe this translates best further down the line with regards to exam preparation. I also believe teaching one-on-one is optimal however I am capable of teaching small groups of 2-4.
