August 2018 Update: University placements of my current Year 13 (A Level) students: 1) AM A* in Maths year 13 August 2018 Update (secured place to study Medicine at Cambridge) 2) Four others have been offered medicine at Liverpool, Cardiff, Leeds.
I always begin the first class doing 2 things: 1) getting to know you- this builds a strong rapport between us, 2) giving an initial assessment to see what level you are at and what specific topics we need to work on. After that, all lessons are based on previous classes and what you personally feel you need to work on in that particular lesson.
I am offering maths lessons up to the level of A Level Maths and Further Maths. My teaching style will mostly depend on the how the student learns. However, in general, my approach is to find out the student's weak spots and working on those first, and providing many questions as practise makes perfect.
My teaching methods are very simple and straightforward. I tend to usually teach on a one to one basis but can also do group teaching. I structure my lessons in a way so that I can get you to perform to your highest possible ability.
Before anything, I like to spend some time trying to understand what kind of learner the student is - from there on,I focus mainly on the fundamentals and ensure that he/she comprehends the relevant steps required to get to the final answer. Then I ask the student to complete some example questions and also like to use past paper questions, so it increases their confidence.
An articulate Academic Professional with a proven track record of positive contribution towards learning, teaching and development of the young and adult learners. I have also acquired a deep knowledge of National Curriculum & motivating my learners and inspired them to do well in their studies. - Classes One to one and group classes.
My teaching method entails asking lots of targeted and personalized exam questions and questioning steps the student takes for example "why did you add the powers?" to encourage cognitive thinking and training for maximum brain retention. I am also able to give full exam papers near to the students exam time for practice.
I prefer to give lessons to students in primary school up till year 8 as well entrance exams. I prefer to first find out how much the student already knows and how confident they are in each topic of their curriculum and then carry on from there, making sure they get lots of practice on their weaker areas.
I begin sessions by asking them what they are currently studying in class at their school and what problems they may be having currently so that they don’t fall behind on the basics. From there, I can build on that foundation and help them excel in their lessons and get into the secondary school they would like to go to.
My teaching method is to go through the topics and give questions as well as clearing doubts but also making sure that the student knows what he is doing rather than just using a formula which he/she was given.A okay mathematician can use a formula an even better one can make their own formula.
I like to approach topics in a structured way, whereby for my student to understand the basics and build onto harder questions that can have many steps or tiers. This normally leads to a natural progression of the question and builds the confidence for them.
I base my teaching on whatever the student finds the most challenging, and then branch out from there, covering each topic in depth. I focus on ensuring that the main topics which are the hardest and are worth the most marks, are fully covered first.
I plan every lesson beforehand; integrating exercises that begin covering the basics and eventually involve critical thinking/ harder questions. I teach according to the student's learning style. Every lesson, my students receive homework that exercises what has been covered in lesson so that areas of uncertainty can be identified and corrected.
About me: I am educated to degree in Mathematics and specialised in Mathematics. I concentrate my efforts on 'private tuition' in which I have had considerable success and find stimulating and rewarding. I teach Maths up to A -level (New Curriculum), GCSE (New 9-1) Maths, IB, IGCSE and Maths entrance exams, Physics (up to GCSE), Chemistry (up to GCSE).I am tutoring in the UK over 10+ years now.
My teaching methodology is starting with the basics at first , this allows me to have an understanding as to what level everyone is at and what I need to focus my teaching on.
My teaching method is quite simple as I teach each topic separately and by fully covering it rather than addressing questions from a mix of topics.
I am a Second Year Computer Science student at King's College London and am especially enthusiastic in tutoring Maths, Physics, and Computer Science. I have been told that I have a mathematical brain, and was even the team leader at the Cambridge Mathletes event when I was in year 6 where I led my team to a silver medal.
I assess students weak areas and build upon these areas until they can answer any question with confidence. Support is also included outside tutoring hours to help students maximise practice time and address any areas needing clarification or assistance.
Students have different learning styles. I am able to quickly identify these and adapt the lessons to suit the individual. I am very patient and understanding and will adjust rate of teaching to ensure students grasp concepts progressively.
The topics that require the most support will first be identified before using a range of methods, including of clarification of key facts and question practice will be employed to solidify understanding and increase confidence.
My teaching methods will be focusing on making base very strong in maths ( counting , relating, mix and match etc...), so that it will help student to be very quick and confident in numbers.
I believe the best way to prepare for an exam is to tackle some past papers from the relevant exam board, identify the weak areas and then work back over those areas to strengthen understanding.
My teaching method is to go through a topic in detail until the student is confident with the particular topic and then work on answering different questions on that topic. I also like to recap past topics at the beginning of the lesson to ensure that topics are not forgotten.
I base my teaching around the students and target areas of improvement keeping the relevant specifications in mind, with the ethos of nuturing a problem solving attitude.
While teaching, I use tact, patience and persuasion to understand students’ psychology, develop rapport and build strong relationships with them to have effective two-way communication and make lectures more enjoyable.
So what are you waiting for… Tutoring Experience: • My most recent students excelled in Maths and Further Maths, getting equal or higher grades than predicted by their schools . • I have copious experience in teaching students, relatives and friends through 11plus to A Level and above.
I will base the classes how my students want to be taught. If they want me to explain theory, I will find the correct resources and create a plan to go through with the students. I am able to do 6-8 hours intensive revision sessions too. If students want me to help them with homework I can work with them and explain the methodology to obtain the correct answer.
My name is Varun and I offer maths tuition up to GCSE level. My approach to teaching is very simple, to do well in a subject or test you must not just be able to absorb information but actually understand the content, only then can you guarantee success. I am very charismatic about the subject I teach, which I feel is required to be a successful tutor.
I teach maths and English to students age between 5 to 15 years old who attemp to pass their exams with good grades and achieve high results for their future academic life. My main aim is to make the lessons more interesting for the pupils by using maths and English computer tests as well as my own written tests, depending on the pupils' level of understanding.
I teach with empathy as I have experienced the stress of being a student myself. I am a friendly person and I work towards creating a helathy bond between my tutees so they are comfortable and can approach me or ask me for help whenever help is needed. I also take pride in helping students do well, so I tend to push tutees beyond what they think they are capable of.
