My aim to make maths simple and fun to learn, the key to this is with the use of showing the relationships and patterns between numbers to help improve mental arithmetic skills as well as working through the best way of solving problems.
Through my experience assisting fellow students I have found the most effective method is to break down the areas of difficulty allowing students to understand the background behind the method so they can effectively apply it to problems and exam questions.
My teaching method is to introduce a topic, given students insights in to its applications, model examples for best practice and coach them through problems before have explore questions
My teaching methodology is repetition. I like to teach a method and complete a few examples myself , then we would complete some together and then give I would give practice questions in order of increasing difficulty to the tutee. This helps me to see how well a concept has been understood.
I have a physics degree from Cambridge and am passionate about maths and science. I teach maths and physics to A level and biology and chemistry to GCSE level. I enjoy working one-to-one in person when possible as I find this works best, but if you are not local to Horsham, we can use Skype instead.
I teach by grasping the basics first and then breaking down harder topics into manageable steps.
To understand the level the pupil is at, work on areas that need improving within the curriculum. Engage and motivate the pupil to enjoy the subject by introducing step by step tutorials. Help the pupil problem solve by themselves, and introduce other methods to understanding the subject matter.
My teaching method will vary with each person, depending on how they prefer to learn will change how I teach. I can also teach well from what I learnt was effective.
I prefer to adopt a teacher-centred approach and feel the best way to learn is from providing direct instruction and guidance whereby students can listen and watch. I enjoy to plan ahead of lessons and follow a specific structure during tutoring. That said I am flexible and am very open to feedback from either the students or the parents.
I am a A-level student about to start my second and final year of Maths Statistics and other subjects. I attained an A in GCSE Mathamatics on the AQA board. I would prefer to teach in person where I could use text books, past exam papers (best for GCSE students) and online resorces, for example mymaths.
I will teach lessons to anyone under 16, who needs maths, physics or computer science help. We would start off by identifying the areas in which you would like to improve in, and by the end I will make sure you have learnt what you wanted to.
I am in my final year of sixth form and have had over 6 months of experience teaching a range of ages. I offer lessons in maths, going over homework or difficult topics covered in school. I have had training in all aspects of the curriculum and can teach concepts in visual and engaging ways for the best understanding.
I am currently on my summer break from University where I study Mechanical Engineering. I achieved an A* in all 10 of my GCSEs, as well 4 A*s at A Levels, and I hope this demonstrates my understanding, depth of knowledge and work ethic, which in turn makes me believe I have the skillset and experience to help you with any problems you may have.
I go topic by topic and make sure the student has mastered the content and has plenty of practice in each topic before they move onto the next to ensure there are no gaps filled. I always encourage the student to practice, practice and practice as this is what gets you the A*.
I will go for an interactive teaching, continuously evaluating the comfort level and learning difficulties that my student may have and clear it. After each lesson we (me & my student) shall solve some relative problems together starting with the easier ones and gradually moving up the standard.
I have recently finished my degree in Mathematics with Actuarial Science at The University of Southampton, where I graduated with First Class Honours. I am primarily offering one-to-one tuition, although I would be happy to teach in small groups upon request.
I am on my GAP year before going to leeds uni, having achieved an A* in A Level further maths. I am able to provide students with summaries of topics that they are struggling with and go through questions that they can't do, explaining how they should tackle similar problems in the future.
I attend Oxford University where most teaching is done in small group tutorial teaching, and this is something I aim to mimic in my lessons. Typically, we start by discussing in detail a topic. This is the period where your understanding of a topic improves, giving you an opportunity to write notes and to see exactly what the examiners want you to write.
I am 19 years old and have been working in childcare for a few years now, Mathematics was always my strong point at shool and I would love to help young people reach their highest potential!
I am offering tuition to people in KS3, GCSE students and Alevel students (I am also able to offer advise on university admissions tests having sat the MAT myself). I adapt how I tutor each student to what suits them best.
I am a recent graduate, who enjoys vibrant and student- led tutoring sessions. I like to sit down with my tutees and get a measurement of their confidence and skill levels, before delving into specific topics. I try to make my sessions fun and interesting, and encourage wherever possible.
I help identify areas students are weak at by producing a test for them to do and then help them to understand the regions which they are weak at. Go through the topics the students don't understand and explain them as clearly as I can.
Different people have different ways of revising (e.g. making mind maps, watching revision videos or reading straight from the textbook) as our brains work and retain information in various ways. I have previously had tutors for my studies so I know what a tutor should and should not do. I am here to help for the student so that they can ask questions that they necessarily cannot ask in class.
I am a GCSE student who can give easy to understand maths lessons to primary school children. I am a patient and motivated person who wants to help others achieve their full potential. I can help children on the things that they find difficult in maths and help them understand the topics better. I will first see what ability your child is at then give appropriate worksheets.
I like to try and make my questions and teaching style fun and engaging for all the students. I like to get to know the students as people rather than as students as I believe they will learn better like that.
I am a part qualified actuary who also has a teaching qualification and experience. My lessons will include listening to my students needs and assessing their weak areas with guidance and pratice in answering exam level questions. My approach will be friendly and encouraging.
Find the real underlying problem of understanding and sort that out. Often comes down to missing definitions of words and symbols. Students say I'm very good at explaining things they haven't understood. Patient and friendly with a light touch..
I teach all aspects of Maths, including algebra, fractions, decimals, percentages, ratio, geometry, trigonometry, arithmetic, statistics, averages, graphs etc. I can tutor anyone from 5 to 50, but I mostly help teenagers with their GCSEs, A Levels, SATs and ACTs. I tutor the three main subjects that people seem to want tutoring in; Maths, Science and English.
