I am a Biochemistry PhD student at the University of Oxford offering lessons in maths from primary to A-levels standard. I have plenty of tutoring experiences and believe I could help pupil that struggle with a particular topic (or topics) or pupil that wants to challenge themselves.
My teaching methodolgy is that i teach by ppts/pen and paper.
My lessons include many illustrative examples, use of metaphores to make complex concepts clear and many student-led discussions and questions
I'm friendly, relatively easy going and I understand the struggle! I'm a big fan of the Biosciences, but I'll be most helpful for Mathematical concepts since that's where my experience is. Discussion is the key to a depth of understanding! Depth of understanding will help you to adapt in an exam situation, as every oxford undergraduate will probably advise you.
I strive to establish a connection between myself and the student, trying to make teaching a two way process. I can deal with children of all ages and am very communicative. I am strict although my goal is to make the student curious and engage them. My students end up loving the subject we study together. Tangible improvement to student confidence.
Although I am 'officially' advertising as providing GCSE and A level tutoring, I am also open to those who wish to pursue different qualifications, or no qualifications at all! I believe that the learning journey is personal to each individual, and I will strive to work with each student to establish their goals before we start work in earnest.

I am an enthusiastic teacher and I like planning fun, interactive and informative lessons. I can approach questions in many different ways to help students have a good understanding of the work, by adapting my teaching methods to match my Student’s capabilities, as I understand each individual learns in different ways.
I have a great enthusiasm for teaching and encouraging my students to reach their potential at every level of education. I take great care to prepare my lessons and tailor my tutoring methods to the needs of each student. - Which subject(s) do you teach? I teach Maths, Physics, Chemistry and Arabic at key stages 2, 3, GCSE and A-level.
Maths, Physics, Chemistry, Computer Science/ICT, Mechanical, Electrical, Civil, Computing Engineering lessons to GCSE, A2/AS-levels, University undergraduate, Masters and PhD students. Approach to teaching involves understanding of the student needs and catering my lessons/tutorials according to those and this method has always proved highly successful.
I teach Maths and Physics through problems. I do not focus on teaching how to solve specific exam questions, instead i will focus on a diverse set of problems on a topic aimed at broadening the students problem solving skills. I make sure that the student see's a solution on his/her own by giving helpful hints without eliminating the necessary thought process.
I like to be methodical and thorough, and at a pace that suits you.
I tend to begin initial lessons by going through a past paper and seeing what the struggles are with, or if the pupil has particular struggles I start with them as I am not concerned with what is already understood. Throughout the course of teaching, I try and cover as much by producing my own worksheets with multiple examples to provide maximum understanding.
With teaching, depending on the student's preference, I either like to go through the content book with them and explain and give other examples of anything that they don't understand or need further explaining on. I also like to go through test papers with the student, and as we're going through the paper, answer any questions raised by the student and explain the questions they get wrong.
I am an MPhil Economics student at Oxford university and give lessons in Maths and Economics to students upto Undergraduate level. Can give lessons online or at my flat in Cowley Road, Oxford. Very thorough with concepts and I ensure a planned teaching module with ample of practice tests.
My teaching method revolves around the main idea that the key to learn a topic or idea is to understand how and why it was developed in the first place and then just practice its application! This follows the basis for my lessons in maths, physics and chemistry on all levels.
I like to tailor my approach to suit the needs of every individual. It is entirely up to the student to pick a topic that he/she needs help with and I will make sure we go through problem sets until sufficient understanding is obtained. I do not prepare teaching material.
I am an undergraduate chemist at the University of Oxford. I've tutored for a few years, and last summer wrote and illustrated online A-Level, GCSE, and KS3 chemistry courses for a social enterprise. Lessons would be flexible, aimed at either supporting topics as taught at school, or at targeting weak areas as identified by the student.
My teaching style is very informal, and somewhat resembles the setting of an Oxford tutorial, which is also the typical style of an Oxford interview. Getting comfortable with this type of academic engagement is more crucial to success both in interview and in university life than being the most impressive candidate on paper.
My teaching focuses on understanding the concepts and not only memorising them.
I've tutored high-school students, middle-school students and university students. I base my classes on understanding deeply the subject and I expect my students to exercise a lot with me and at home. My goal is to make the student feel confident about his/her own abilities, to make him/her feel completely independent.
Hello mathematicians or "I'm a pupil get me through maths" people :)... I am a MEng Mechanical Engineering Student! My Grades: GCSE Maths: A A level Maths: A I am a sympathetic teacher that wants to know what is holding you back in maths; How I can get you through these barriers and quite importantly...
During my undergraduate studies, I tutored GCSE Maths. I have taught over 50 students and had them achieve well above their expectations in Maths GCSE and A-levels. Prior to my postgraduate position, I taught English as a Foreign Language in the UK, Ecuador, and Peru to children and adults, in small groups and large classes.
I mainly focus on helping the students understand the maths notions, if possible show them the application so that they do not doubt what they are learning.
I received MChem in Oxford in 2017, followed by a 4-year DPhil programme. I have been teaching secondary and high school students Math, Physics and Chemistry. I am fluent in Chinese. I am keen to share knowledge with students in all levels. The method that I use during teaching is to combine concepts and exercises together, covering the foundations and exam tips.
I am a recent Psychology graduate from the University of Oxford looking to teach any Primary or Secondary school students, up to GCSE level, in Maths. I am very flexible, can tutor alongside any school lessons and can tailor lessons to meet students needs.
I am forthcoming Chemistry PhD student at University of Oxford keen to teach Chemistry and Mathematic at all levels from primary school to A-Level. I try to make my teaching fun and engaging for students.
I teach by a problem solving approach. I use a lot of past paper questions, I let the student take the lead with the first problem and provide support if they get stuck. Then I take another similar question and let them answer one on their own, before going back through it and giving them feedback after they have completed it.
