I am very patient and understanding. I motivate and inspire my students so that learning is fun. I love to help people conquer their fear of maths. - Which subject(s) do you teach? Maths - GCSE and A level. - Tell me about your qualifications.
- Classes Every student has a programme that is built just for them. They concentrate on getting to grips with topics that they are covering in school whilst also working on a parallel thread that is put together to fill any gaps that may exist in their core skills. * The MagiKats programme supports the National Curriculum. * More than tutor 'hot-housing' and more than learning by rote.
My teaching methodology is based on the fact that every student is an individual and can achieve great things. As a tutor I have been described as reliable, approachable and friendly. I believe students do their best work when they are both supported and challenged.
I am a recent graduate from the University of Bristol, gaining a BSc in Physics. I believe the best way to learn is through practice, and so most of my lessons consist of practical application. This also helps greatly with exam technique, and "exam stage fright" which I know many people suffer from.
My teaching methodology would always be surrounding the student. I'd find out how they work best and what kind of learner they are, (ie, visual, more spoken etc), so i can help them learn to the best of their ability and improve the fastest and most efficiently.
I enjoy Maths and love teaching. I was the Mathematics head teacher in a private school for 9 years and have been tutoring for 20 years. I am a fully qualified Maths teacher and run Kumar Education. - Which subject(s) do you teach? I teach Maths and English. - Tell me about your qualifications. I am currently studying Philosophy, Politics and Economics at Oxford University, with an interest in educational development and teaching. I am a friendly, patient individual, with over 2 years tutoring experience. My lessons would initially involve an introduction period (usually around 30 mins) in which the level of the pupil is identified for maximum progress.
- Classes Classes run on a 'drop in' basis and parents should allow 30 minutes per subject. The children will be given homework to complete daily, which should take between 10 and 20 minutes per day. Fresh coffee is available, free of charge, for the parents waiting for their children while in class.
Normally my first lesson/ or meeting will be discussing the level of the students' knowledge on the specific subject and which area needs work on. Then I will be able to prepare fully for the future lessons with practice papers and worksheets. I will always be communicating with their parents after lessons or once a week to show the progress of the students.
My approach is to teach you the content through examples. I believe maths is a subject which you can only really fully understand by doing questions. Where required I will explain you the content to solidify your understanding, and after that I will go over lots of questions until you feel ready to conquer some questions independently.
My teaching methodology is based initially on getting students comfortable with the basics. Within maths, a lot of more complicated problems rely on being able to spot the starting point to a problem. Once students are more at ease with the subject it seems a lot easier to tackle trickier problems.
I like to be organised in my teaching and aim to cover every topic. This is because everything in Maths is connected and even a topic that seems to be very simple and easy can cause problems in the further topics. My main aim is to help students actually understand what they're doing.
Hi, my name is Jack, I am currently studying for my undergraduate Bsc in Physics at the University of Sussex. I am looking to provide help to those looking to further develop on their skills, techniques and grades in mathematics and Physics.
I hold a degree in Physics/Applied Mathematics from the Science faculty in Porto, Portugal and a Master's in Geomatic engineering from the same institution (both highly regarded internationally). I teach all levels and I like to use a simple approach to problems. If a student can't solve an exercise, I break it down into simpler versions he can understand and then add everything up in the end.
I have a fairly relaxed teaching method. I will first ask what it is you find difficult and concentrate on those areas until you feel confident, then give tests to check for any weak areas.
I have tutored kids of different ages and is currently hired by my university as a tutor as well. I use a a variety of techniques, including some mathematical games that I have learnt from my training. From my experience as a private tutor I have had very good feedback.
I am a university student looking for primary or secondary school students that would like to be tutored in maths. I tailor my method of tutoring to the pupil based off of if they need to spend extra time on certain topics, whether they are a visual, auditory or kinetic learner, and their age.
I am an enthusiastic third-year electrical engineering student, and I am a tutor for first years students at the university. I enjoy tutoring students and helping them build confidence in their ability to achieve. My teaching method is to find the method that best fits my student. Being dyslexic I appreciate that some methods just don't work for everybody, dyslexic or not, and so will spend time to try and find the one that best fits you.
I have been teaching for four years. I have to my credit seven students whom I accompanied in their studies. One of my students did not spend in second general in his first trimester of 3 rd (he had among others 6 in mathematics, 8 in physics chemistry). Today he is in second and finished his year of 3rd with 16 of average in mathematics and 12 in physics chemistry.
I can teach maths and further maths to anyone up to A level standard. In my lessons I alter my teaching style slightly for each student but I always make sure to test and challenge them in a way that keeps them learning and improves their skills. I go through topics of concern and keep it enjoyable by sharing my own techniques and ways I found it easier to learn.
I'm a Masters student and i give my lessons to anyone at all. The technique I use in teaching is I go through basic lessons with you based on the topic you have requested and then i build up on it gradually to make sure you understand every bit of it. I take questions while teaching and give assignment on a regular basis to ascertain some feedback.
I am going into my second year of Bsc Mathematics at Sussex and am looking to help primary and secondary school students pass their exams to a high standard! I am friendly, enthusiastic and keen to ensure all topics are covered thoroughly.
I am qualified to teach GCSE and A-level Mathematics (and Statistics) and equivalent, though I am happy to provide support to anyone up to undergraduate level. If we were revising for a specific exam, my preferred lesson structure would be to break down a specific question, reminding you of what you need to know to answer the question (with mnemonics if relevant).
As a visual learner myself, I like to find practical examples which I can to relate concepts to in order to make them simpler and easier to understand
