I like to try and explain mathematical ideas before then working through examples in order to try and develop the student's knowledge and understanding and to help them be more likely to recall the information in their exams. I try to develop the student's way of thinking rather than getting them to just reciprocate information.

I like to introduce topics by verbally asking questions to judge the student's understanding of the topic, as often they may be able to answer some of the mathematical questions required of them in the exam but there may not be an underlying understanding.
I like to break each topic down into its simplest parts and then show the links between each part to develop a full understanding. I find that it is easier to learn if you have a solid understanding of the basics to build upon, which is often rushed in class.
As a current student, I easily can teach my peers in a relatable way, making the lessons both enjoyable and productive. I cater my lessons to each individual as we all learn in different ways, and will tailor my techniques to guarantee the best results.
It is important for the lessons to be a journey in which the students can discover for themselves the applications of mathematics and develop a thorough understanding about the roots of their methodology, as well as easily remember theories through their own journey which can then be put into practice in bigger mathematical problem.

Maths is a subject people often struggle with, so I do my best to tailor teaching to the student and what they need. My teaching methodology consists of a certain structure which is the following: Re-cap of previous lesson, new concept, examples of new concept, practice questions for new concepts, advanced examples, brain teaser to finish! The re-cap at the start of the lesson will ensure that everything being taught is recalled as I am a strong believer in repetition being the key to perfection.
