I have been teaching for nearly eight years and worked in various educational settings. I have previously worked as a teaching assistant in primary schools and managed a tuition centre for children between 5-14. - Which subject(s) do you teach? I tutor Phonics, English, Maths and prepare students for their 11+ and SATs exams. I also tutor Italian at all levels.
I base my teaching on the ability of the child and I aim to break the subject down as much as possible so that it is easy to understand. The structure of the lessons I provide would be to use a diagnostic test first to identify specific areas of weakness and then I would work from there, however it is dependent on every child.
I provide lessons for up to GCSE level Maths and would offer help based on students' individual requirements and necessary of improvement. A short summary question paper will be provided at the beginning of each lesson in order to identify these areas, which will then be worked on in detail to attain a better score on another short paper at the end of the lesson.
I like to break down subjects to their basics to ensure a full understanding of it. I like to use videos, drawings and abbreviations in order to help understanding and memory of the subject I'm teaching, and have no problem with going over a subject several times in order for it to be understood.
I will ensure that I fill in any gaps in a students knowledge. Moreover, help them through difficult concepts and then give short exam questions. My main aim will be that students get the best grades. As a tutor, I will start of by forming foundation then lead on to building a stronger foundation by giving students questions at different levels of difficulties.

- Classes Kumon provide individualised Maths and English programmes. Attendance at class is on a "drop-in" basis during class times as each child works on their own individual development plan. Children take approximately 20-30 minutes per subject and attend class once or twice a week.
