My aim is to raise attainment, stretch ability, build self-confidence, encourage independence and resilience, promote study skills and foster aspiration. CURRENT AVAILABILITY : SCHOOL TIME ONLY, MONDAY AND WEDNESDAY.
My teaching method is to be visual, to make sure that students can see other ways to learn. I like to work with students to see where and what they struggle with, I also like to make sure that students can show me what they know and I can help them progress. I really enjoy helping.
I am a primary school teacher, who specialised in mathematics in my undergrad. After receiving a 1st class honours degree with QTS I have decided to tutor whilst completing my Masters in SEN Education. As I am new to tutoring from whole class teaching I have a small but growing number of students who are showing their true potential and determination to make progress.
During any session I will identify the problems the student currently has and find relevant questions (past paper or otherwise) to help explain, and eventually, overcome the problem. I primarily will use questions and past papers but am open to any techniques the student believes may be helpful.
I am able to work with various teaching methods, depending on the students preference, however (with maths) I tend to start with whiteboard work and work through questions and methods together, then allow the student to try for themselves with my support available if/ when required.
I have an innovative teaching method, ensuring that my methods are suited for each individuals' needs. I break key concepts down, ensuring the basics are understood to build upon and develop a sound understanding. I make sure that I have a varied methods to teach specific constructs to ensure there is something for everyone.
For me, mathematics and physics are entirely about the clarity with which they are taught. Every student should go into their maths and physics and exams with a strong intuition about the subject, and this comes from having a topic explained by someone who understands the subject in depth.

I believe that every child's natural state is to love learning and I see it as my job and personal mission to create that experience for all of my students. This involves overcoming any blocks that might hold a student back in their learning.
I will start with diagnostic tasks and questioning to find out where we're at, then follow up with some appropriate learning tasks. I will then use deliberate practice and interleaving (mixing questions up) to ensure the new knowledge is retained and that it is learning and not just performance that has been improved.
I would mainly choose to answer questions or help with particular issues you are struggling to understand, or need help with cracking. I don't have lesson plans as such, but could provide examples and should be able to backtrack and build up to the specific subject, to encourage your foundation knowledge.
I base my classes on what I feel the student needs. Every student is different and so will need a different approach. For example, some may need someone to check over answers while other prefer to understand the theory behind the acquirement of some solutions. Either way, I believe I am well equipped for both.
I am a mathematics tutor based in Acton and offer tutoring services in the surrounding areas. I've been told that students find me patient and personable with an ability to explain concepts that they are struggling with in a way that they understand. - Which subject(s) do you teach? I tutor mathematics from Year 5 up to GCSE level.
My teaching method involves going through past paper questions in detail, identifying areas that students find difficult and then carefully explaining the key concepts of that area with example problems until the student is able to confidently answer similar exam paper questions without aid.
In the past I have only tutored children around the age of 8-12; However, I can teach both younger and older. With that age group we worked through their homework together, and discussed anything they we're confused with. I also asked them to show what they discussed that week in class, and then would quiz them if they answered correctly.
Every child is unique and deserves to be treated as such. I believe that there is nothing a child cannot learn there are only teachers who are not able to adapt their strategies in order to support the pupil. Whether it is through play, worksheets, projects or trips within the local area, there are always ways to appeal to the child's interest so that they are enthusiastic about learning.
I am an Oxford graduate with >7 years experience. The first lesson is free. I have an MSc in Biology (Integrative-Biosciences) from the University of Oxford with more than 7 years of tutoring experience. - Which subject(s) do you teach? I tutor Physics, Chemistry, Biology and Maths from KS2 up to A-levels.
Do you need an A for you course? Or just simply because you want to aim high ? Well look no further, because I am here to save your grades.
I adapt my teaching methodology to every person individually. I would start the lesson by asking you what you enjoy outside of Maths which might help later draw parallels. Most important is for me to understand what you struggle with and then take you step by step to approach the problem and see where you get stuck, breaking it down as much as needed.
I approach my lessons by understanding the students learning style and their strengths and weaknesses. Then tailor my lessons from this understanding. Starting with the basics and increasing in complexity as the student understands more. I try to approach topics from multiple angles to ensure the successful understanding of the material. My grades: A-level Psychology A, Biology B, Chemistry B.
My teaching method is going through all the concepts in a topic and focuses on the understandings of the concepts. Then I proceed by creating my own question that I know will test the understanding of all the concepts in the topic.
For areas such as Maths and Science, I see constant repetition as the best method, and attempt to make this as fun as possible. With subjects such as Sociology and the Humanities, I believe being able to visualise theories/timelines/processes is the most beneficial way to learn.
I primarily focus on the topics that my students struggle with the most, to ensure they are confident in all aspects of the subject. I do my best to ensure they can do all the different questions that could come up independently, and frequently use past paper questions to help them improve, as this is the best way to prepare for exams.
I like to break down the whole syllabus and specification so we can go through key aspects in detail. I firstly explain concepts and give the key information that need to be remembered such as equations or graph types. Then to recap i give mini tests to check that you understand the topic.
I am currently working in a secondary school in Buckinghamshire teaching maths from year 7 to ‘A’ level, where I hold the position of examinations officer. I graduated from Reading University with an MSc degree in Network centred Computing and from Cardiff University with a BSc in Physics. I started teaching after completing my PGCE at the University of Swansea.
Understanding is always better than memorisation. True depth in understanding eliminates the need to remember facts/processes/tricks/examples as much, which makes an exam a whole lot less stressful! (I talk from experience!!!) My aim when tutoring is always to foster this depth in understanding and not simply to get a student through an exam on their capacity to retain information temporarily.
My teaching approach involves asking students how much they know about their topic first so I know what to cover and what not to cover, thus saving time and spending more time on struggling topics. I also tell students to read their book and explain to me what they learnt which also tells me what to fully cover.
I always begin the first class doing 2 things: 1) getting to know you- this builds a strong rapport between us, 2) giving an initial assessment to see what level you are at and what specific topics we need to work on. After that, all lessons are based on previous classes and what you personally feel you need to work on in that particular lesson.
