My name is Lee Reps and I am a secondary school maths teacher. I have been tutoring mathematics since September 2011 and find that working on a one to one basis with a student extremely rewarding and beneficial to the student. - Which subject(s) do you teach? I cover all aspects of mathematics from Key Stage 2 up to University level. - Tell me about your qualifications.
I'm a Maths and Computer Science student currently studying at University College London. I tutor all ages and abilities from Key Stage 1 through to A-Level. I ensure that my students have a strong understanding of the core knowledge of their subject before focusing on the more practical techniques. I use lesson time to convey material and then homework to cement and solidify this material.
I am willing to tutor in Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Maths, English Literature, Geography and History GCSE subjects - all of which I achieved a 9 (A**) in. I am also glad to help KS3 students prepare for KS4. As well as going over the whole syllabus, I will find where the student needs guidance in their subject, putting emphasis on developing skills in this area.
1. Gap Analysis, Identify current student level and knowledge 2, Identify areas for improvement 3. Identify how best the student learn or absorbs information 4. Adapt teaching method to the above 3.
First each class would begin with an introduction. Also include some history to bring the concepts closer to home. Then get the student to answer some conceptual questions. I would encourage the student to do homework so that their progress so can be tracked easily.
I believe that lessons need to be tailored to suit a students particular needs, so in the first couple of lessons I try to evaluate the level of the student of what specific topics they need to work on. I regularly go through exam questions so that students are more capable and confident when they take their exam.
I am a maths graduate enthusiastic about learning and maths and hopefully this is infectious! My previous career was spent motivating and managing technical teams to achieve their goals and this, together with a good degree in Maths, stands me in good stead to assist learners achieve theirs.
I like to understand where my students may be lacking and fill the gaps until they become strengths, because I believe in order to get good grades you need to be able to have consistency across the subject. I encourage my students to work things out using their own mind instead of just giving the answer I will push students to explore every possible alleyway for the answer.
Learning should be an exciting, interesting and positive process and understanding my pupils learning style is key. I aim to nurture and foster my pupils to become independent thinkers and learners whilst working hard and aiming high. - Which subject(s) do you teach? I teach Key Stage 1/2 and 3 English, Maths and Science. Keys Stage 4 English, Maths, Business, Biology.
My teaching method is to create a checklist of what the student would like to cover in the next lesson so that I have time to compile resources for the student in the lesson. My mum is also a maths teacher so I use her input to help me access resources for lessons.
I am an experienced teacher and understand how important it is to build confidence by experiencing success. I am methodical but patient, and I tailor my teaching according to the age, ability and preferences of my students. I focus on building confidence and make sure I periodically revisit topics to ensure what has been learnt is remembered.

I like to teach following the school curriculum, but i love to give live examples, specially in Physics.I encourage my students to challenge the principles, laws and theories, and then come full circle in realising why they are actually true. This in my opinion helps establish fundamentals as the students buys into them, rather than just accept it on face value.
I am an enthusiastic, approachable and patient tutor who enjoys making science easier and more comprehensible for A-level, GCSE and Key Stage 3 candidates who urgently need extra tuition in Chemistry, Biology, Maths or physics to boost their grades.
