I teach by firstly asking what the student would like to learn (e.g. performance based work) and then find out what they know/can do already so that I have an idea on the level they're starting lessons with me at. Then I'll teach them different skills, techniques and knowledge that they will require in an engaging way by incorperating them into songs that the student would like to learn.
