I intend to assist students in Scotland (Aberdeen) at National, Higher and Advanced Higher levels in Mathematics, Physics and possibly Chemistry (to Higher level). Whilst a good theoretical foundation in a subject is essential, I believe, and my method of teaching is such, that the best way of understanding complex problems is to extend them to scenarios that a student finds interesting.
I am a very patient person who is never defeated so if a student does not understand immediately how to approach a problem I give them the tools to work through the problem and with patience.
I base my classes on student needs and try to use the expeditionary learning method to help understand some difficult aspects. I believe working on questions is really important for understanding the science, and have my own techniques for remembering harder content.
As a tutor, I take the same approach that I aspired my tutors to take, when I was a student. This means a lot of student interactions, starting from the fundamentals and then moving on. I aim to involve the student a lot in the subject, by giving them routine home tasks. I find it very interesting giving lessons to Secondary and Highers students.
I found from my experience that people learn things differently and at different paces; when students struggle with a subject, it’s usually because their learning style conflicts with the style or pace with which it is being taught. Tutoring one on one gives the opportunity to learn at the student’s optimal pace.
My teaching method varies depending on the individual, I like to structure it best around how they learn. The main idea is to provide the student with an understanding of the topic so they can tackle any question they are faced with.
In my opinion, teachers emphasise memorizing formulas too much and rarely explain what they actually represent. If a student knows what formula means he/she can implement it on any problem. All of the sudden physics and maths become fun scientific fields which help you to understand the world around you.
I have been trained by the most inspiring science tutors and this has greatly motivated me to help others understand seemingly tough science concepts in a creative manner that suits the student's learning ability. My tutoring approach is to understand my student, emphasize on his or her strengths and patiently work on weaknesses.
Hello everyone, I am an MBA with the degree in an Electrical Engineering, and my teaching is based on practical and logical method, effective learning for the students, explaining students with the live example so that the student can grasp more and more. after teaching some quiz type short quick test to analyze the understanding of the student. Three principles in which I work as 1.
I am comfortable giving maths and physics lessons to all levels within secondary school and undergraduate engineering degrees. I am a patient person that tailors my lessons to the individual. In my lessons I will simplify the topic you are having difficulties with to a level that you feel comfortable. I will then provide assistance as we increase the complexity to exam standard.
My Teaching Method is to simplify the subjects so that anyone can understand it easily and fast. It is also a method I use for myself. I had a couple great teachers that made the subjects interesting and got me into them. I found kids learn best when they can use the things they have learned in everyday activities.
I'm an engineering student at the university of Aberdeen seeking for a challenging career in a progressive organization where I can acquire current and relevant knowledge and develop effective skills to maximize individual and organizational productivity. By helping other student I'm also helping myself to recall previous knowledge.
I give lessons based on what the student needs and for that I like to have them understand in a visual and computational way the tool they want to use for an exercise. It is like I am showing the paths and the follow each path until they find the right one.
I am a German physics student in Aberdeen. I give classes up to university level. For my classes I like to use simple examples from the daily life to explain abstract concepts, as they often appear in maths and pyhsics. I like to use simple explaining methods and exercises, especially in maths following the concept learing by doing referring to examples, as mentioned.
Hello student, I am Nicholas. I hold a Bachelor of Engineering Degree in Petroleum Engineering with First Class Honours, and a Postgraduate Diploma in Education. I am currently doing my MSc in Petroleum Engineering at University of Aberdeen. I provide tutoring service at GCE Advanced and Ordinary levels, as well as Science and Engineering Undergraduate level.
I base my classes on solving specific examples that picture the methods in clear and understandable way, also make use of Khan Academy materials for support.
I have a PhD in Genetics and following an academic research career, I have more recently been self-employed as a private tutor, coaching local (Aberdeen, Scotland) primary and secondary students in person on a 1 to 1 or small group (2-3 students) basis. I also tutor students online who prefer this mode of coaching or are not in the immediate vicinity.
“Education is not the learning of facts, but the training of the mind to think.” - Albert Einstein. The above quotation was my inspiration to become a scientist. I base my lessons on training a student's mind to think and come up with solutions and beyond the idea of going to school and learning just facts.
PhD researcher and I give lessons to primary and secondary school pupils. Very organised and patient with my work, I do thorough research and explained the subject matter repeatedly to my students. I plan my lessons effectively to ensure that the standard of students are met. I am Competent, intelligent, good demonstrator and effective communicator.
I explain the concepts and formulas first and then problems in a categorised manner, so the student can be easily understand and build with the complexity of problems. Always provide sufficient number of examples, and I also give supplementary handy notes material.
PhD candidate in engineering, with experience in both one-on-one and class tutoring for maths, physics, chemistry and general engineering courses. I tutor secondary school students and also undergraduates. I deliver my tutorials by breaking down the complex into the simple. This is done by pinning relationships between what is being taught and what the student experiences in their everyday life.
My teaching method is combining the idea of 'practice makes perfect' with a fun approach that keeps my students interested and keen to learn more.
I can firstly explain required topics to the student, and then use examples and exercises to ensure student's full understanding. Most of the work is student's job - he is the one who needs to understand, I can just navigate his/her thoughts to reach the highest level of understanding and to achieve necessary goals.
In initial lessons I will monitor you and how you methodically solve problems in order to discover your problem areas and develop plans on how to improve how you learn. As a tutor I am here to help you to achieve your goals, wether that be improving in class or aiming to pass your final exams to get into college/ university.
A PhD student in Engineering at Rorbert Gordon University. I give Maths, physics and Chemistry to secondary, and GCSE students. According to the saying, "Practice makes Perfect", I always try to get students to practice a lot as this will help them to make less errors in the exam.
I'm a student from the U.S. studying at the University of Aberdeen working towards my BSc degree in physics. I personally have always required a deeper understanding of academic material in order to truly succeed in my studies.
I can teach up to advanced higher level, or sometimes higher. Tailoring my lessons around the needs of the student, I take time to understand a students difficulties before providing the right work and motivation to eradicate their previous weakness.
My private lessons differ from the once of many other tutors because am always open to questions whenever they arise, make students not just learn the subject but truly understand it by providing many real life examples. Always ask how and why! This is my slogan and key for success. My lessons are interactive and students really take part in them, not just listen.
Lessons are designed to provide clarity and simplicity to what can be a daunting subject to get to grips with. Each student is treated as an individual with techniques and strategies tailored to their particular strengths; in order to make the learning experience both successful and fun.
