Motivated and organised independent maths tutor, focused on creating a positive and engaging environment to facilitate learning and aid confidence. With over three years' experience tutoring UK students. - Which subject(s) do you teach? I tutor chemistry and mathematics to GCSE level or equivalent.
I use notes, presentations and try to use simple analogies to explain a concept. I also feel practice makes perfect and so I would encourage my students to keep practicing as many problems as they can to understand the subject. I also like providing short, concise notes on a subject with short-cut methods.
I am a fully qualified mathematics teacher with over 17 years' experience who is available for tuition at Key Stage 2, Key Stage 3, GCSE and A-Level. - Which subject(s) do you teach? I teach both mathematics and physics up to A-Level including Mechanics, Statistics.and Further Maths I also teach Chemistry at Key Stage 3 and GCSE. - Tell me about your qualifications.
My teaching method is based on getting the tutee to understand the base concept first and then be able to apply that to questions. This is vital in the new style of GCSEs as they require a lot more thinking for yourself and applied knowledge, having done them myself I will be able to provide key tips and techniques.
The typical lesson will usually look like this: First we review with the student what was done in class, I then help the student fully understand the lessons while helping with the homework. Occasionally we will have a training lesson over what was seen in anticipation of a test. I believe that every student has a great potential which just needs to be unleashed.
I provide 1 to 1 and group tuition to all subjects at GCSE and A level. To make sure students are happy with my teaching I provide a free 1hr trial. I prepare notes, worksheets and mark questions outside lesson to make sure that the 1hr is 100% utilised in teaching.
I first like to ask my students what they struggle with or need work on, then find material that is specific to this topic. I can also help with homework and if I feel the student is confident I will try to introduce further material and help the student to push further on his/her studies.

During any session I will identify the problems the student currently has and find relevant questions (past paper or otherwise) to help explain, and eventually, overcome the problem. I primarily will use questions and past papers but am open to any techniques the student believes may be helpful.
For me, mathematics and physics are entirely about the clarity with which they are taught. Every student should go into their maths and physics and exams with a strong intuition about the subject, and this comes from having a topic explained by someone who understands the subject in depth.
I would mainly choose to answer questions or help with particular issues you are struggling to understand, or need help with cracking. I don't have lesson plans as such, but could provide examples and should be able to backtrack and build up to the specific subject, to encourage your foundation knowledge.

I graduated from Reading University with an MSc degree in Network centred Computing and from Cardiff University with a BSc in Physics. I started teaching after completing my PGCE at the University of Swansea.
All of my lesson observations show that I 'teach to the top'. I give all students the A* lesson quality they deserve, for any students that need a bit of support I am prepared to enable them to reach the upper grades with fully differentiated work. I have taught SEN and students on the spectrum. I take personal pride in ensuring my lessons are fit for purpose.
I adapt my teaching to the individual and create a natural and supporting environment. I will try every approach (audio, visual, kinesthetic) until I find a method that suits the student. I am well practiced in simplifying complex material and then building from the foundations upwards. I win when you win.
My method relies on helping the confidence of the student and making students feel understood and comfortable. Maths pr Physics can be difficult to deal with mostly because students feel powerless! I try to understand where the lacks of information is in the previous experiences and start from there.

I always start by explaining the theory and the concepts behind the topic, understanding the basics is very important !!!
I am able to give lessons in Maths and the Sciences up to GSCE level. In teaching I believe it is important to make each student feel comfortable enough to take risks and make mistakes in order for them to learn and understand the content in a way that most makes sense to them. Each student is unique and I hope to reflect this in the way I approach teaching.
I connect and try to understand my students, individually, first. This, I believe, plays an important role in finding out what path I may take to make sure I get everyone to achieve an A grade. My patience is key to getting each and everyone in my sessions to fall in love with the subject.
I always try to focus in the main student problem with maths and develop different techniques to improve it. I focus in give the student all the tools to solve any math or physic problem by teaching the principles of basic algebra, equations, geometry, etc.

I have most recently taught degree level classes and I am also confident in teaching A level and GCSE as well. I take a practical approach to my tutoring.
