Hello, My name is Emma and I'm a journalist and writer based in Leicester. I've been tutoring for about 6 years now and previously worked as a live-in tutor and au pair for three children aged 4 to 11. I tutor in Maths and Science up to GCSE level and can tutor in Philosophy, English, and Politics to A level.
I am I very fun person who finds the best way to learn English is not by sitting in a stuffy classroom but by making the lessons enjoyable.
My lessons will depend on how the student learns best and what they want to achieve. If it is exam prep this would involve past papers, flash card revision and more depending on what will work best. I am flexible depending on what is required.
My teaching method will always be based on how my students prefer to be taught, yet when it is necessary I can teach them using a different method if I feel that they would benefit more from this type of method.
My teaching method is adapted to each individual student I have. I am able to liaise with my student and work out an approachable way to help my student obtain the information and knowledge being learnt at their own pace which they feel comfortable with.
I like to focus my sessions on supporting Pupils with their academic work and areas of interest, refining their strengths and supporting them with areas they find more challenging. I also encourage people I work with to make requests as to what they want to work on and am more them happy to provide extra support with any school work. I also try looking at different topics in a variety of ways.
I am a 20 year old Law student at De Montfort University. I am from Leicester and have A Levels in English Lit, Psychology and Business. I am happy to tutor at home or in the library. I will help with any assignments or essays, and will go over any topics which you may need help with. I am happy to structure the lessons to suit your needs and your way of learning.
I am a first year English student at De Montfort University looking to teach GCSE and A-Level students through sessions based on academic writing, text analysis, assessment objectives, and anything else that needs to be tailored to the student, their level and the texts they study. I achieved an A* in both GCSE and A-Level English.
Media and PR play a pivotal role in our everyday lives, they shape how we live and view the world. I am passionate Media and PR person. I am also currently working in the field for a well known university. I teach English and key aspects of Media and PR and currently studying for a Masters in the field myself.
(All ages and abilities welcome!) As a university student, I understand that learning one-to-one is important. Each of my students therefore receives a personalised study pack, adapted to each student's needs and requests- whether it be for literature, language, or exam preparation skills.
The classes that I taught varied from year 5 to year 7 students at school that struggled with English as a subject. My lesson structure consists of going through basic information and then allowing all students to express their own individual ideas.
I am a second year undergraduate student studying Psychology at the University of Leicester. I have achieved GCSE's and A-Levels and performed well in both receiving an A* at GCSE English and an A in A-Level Psychology (the levels to which I will be teaching) I can travel to you or offer home tuition lessons, depending on what is preferred and works for us both.
I feel confident tutoring all abilities from primary school to degree level. For me, it is important that the student looks forward to our sessions and feels engaged. I do this by ensuring a variety of learning techniques are used and a comfortable atmosphere is created where the occasional joke is appreciated.
I pride myself on helping my students exceed their educational goals. - Which subject(s) do you teach? I teach English Composition and Rhetoric, and Reading. - Tell me about your qualifications. I hold and BA and an MA in English Literature and I am currently working towards my PhD. I am also certified as an Advanced Level II Certified Tutor from the College Reading and Learning Association.
My teaching method always varies for each student, as every student has different academic abilities and preferred learning/teaching methods (one student may benefit from learning via visual notes e.g. mind maps, whereas another student may prefer learning though making detailed essay plans). For each topic being taught, I always provide the student with personalised notes, tips and tricks.
My teaching method will be catered to your ability and how you want to learn. If you find it easier learning by repetition, writing, listening or speaking, we’ll work together to help you get to the level you want to be.
My teaching method is fun but effective, teaching without the stress gets students a lot further. I base my classes on how i was taught and find that is the best way to learn. As a tutor i am easy going and will secure your results.
I approach the classes from very basics to intermediate to a high level teaching and understanding. I focus more on pronunciations.

Hello, My name is Sue Poskitt and I am a qualified Early Years/Primary Teacher. I believe that learning should be fun, thus use a variety of activities in my teaching. All lessons are planned for individual pupils, to ensure personalised learning.
I modify my teaching methods to cater individual students . I use visual teachniques , graded student texts, and discussions to help a student improve their writing . I believe that marking student work will always help consolidate their knowledge .
- Classes Every student has a programme that is built just for them. They concentrate on getting to grips with topics that they are covering in school whilst also working on a parallel thread that is put together to fill any gaps that may exist in their core skills. * The MagiKats programme supports the National Curriculum. * More than tutor 'hot-housing' and more than learning by rote.
I aim to break down barriers to children's learning and release their potential. I communicate well with parents and listen to concerns they may have. I put the child in the centre at all times to ensure higher confidence and improved self-esteem.
My teaching method is not the average boring teaching techniques but through an interactive and fun innovative way where the student are fully engaged throughout the session, this will help them not only learn in a fast paced manner but enjoy the subject. When a subject becomes fun they will automatically do well, my priority is to make them understand and have fun at the same time.
Lessons at my home or local public place such as a library etc. I would approach the tutoring lessons by first identifying the strengths and weaknesses of the student with their help. We will then go on to improve those areas using appropriate methods and resources such as practice papers, reading around certain topics etc.
Im a passionate and hardworking teacher who likes to make my lessons fun, practical and interactive. I am specialised in early years /KS1 primary school teaching and have also worked witn special needs children and children with different languages.
I teach English Language, English Literature, UCAS statements, Oxbridge entry ELAT/BMAT and essays, University Mock Interviews. I teach GCSE, Common Entrance, 11+ and primary SATs. I teach able or underachieving students. I personalise all learning. I am about delivering success.
I believe in teaching to each student as an individual . I will help you develop skills in critical analysis , synthesis, evaluation and formation of evidence based arguements. I feel the student and teacher work best together as a unit allowing the student the development of Trust, as we develop your academic skills to underpin your clinical practice .
I like to teach in a way most suited for the individual, whether that be teaching them a catchy song to remember what the fruits of the spirit are or whether that be sitting with the child and a whiteboard going through each challenge step by step. I think its extremely important for both the tutor and the student to know what level they are working at and what they need to do to improve.
I'm an undergraduate at Loughborough University studying English and Drama, I'm planning on becoming a prep school teacher so I'm very excited to get all the experience I can at tutoring.
