I am a graduate from The School of Oriental and African Studies, having completed a BA [Hons] in Religion and Politics. My approach to academia was transdisciplinary, and considered Sociology, Law, Anthropology and Ethnology in the Study of Religion.
I am graduating this year in English and History BA Hons and can teach both subjects up to GCSE stage. I am friendly, chatty and easy-going. My lessons are structured around the student, how they like to learn and what they want to learn. I am very practical and like to get students thinking outside of the box with constructive criticism to help them see their work progress.
I am an student Student in my 4th Studying Business Administration and i can provide lesson for kids, primary level, secondary and undergraduate level as well. Am an easy going person and i connect with my students as if we are best friends, so by that it's easier for our communication to be effective.
My teaching reflects the needs of the student. If it is fun and hands-on you are looking for, I can provide this, but also, if there is a need for exam revision and a more serious tone, I can adapt to this as well. As I have experience in primary schools, as well as teaching English in summer camps and schools abroad, I enjoy finding unique strategies to tailor my teaching to your needs.
My teaching methodology, is learner centred learning finding a style and way that suits them. So if it means having a walk by a canal or up a hill to find out about the natural world for History or Geography or Science to being in a classroom researching information on the internet or from books.
The way in which I teach depends on the level in which I assisting with. For example, with younger students I will lead the session more, preparing tasks and activities that I will bring to the session. With older students I think it's more helpful for them to advise me on what they require help with. I find one of the best ways to revise is to plan an essay and then get it marked.
Patience, explanation, encouragement and praise, even for the smallest of improvements. New students often gain confidence as they study . I encourage students to talk about their work. Also, to make considered observations on the texts that we'll be studying.
Offering sessions to GCSE pupils Will proofread creative writing pieces and work with the student to improve them Past papers, essay marking and confidence building exercises I will encourage students to do their best and believe in their own potential. Hopefully, I can teach students to love the subject.
My lessons are structured, usually starting with a skill-based interactive starter, a focussed main task (such as closely analysing texts together or working on essay plans) and a consolidation task to finish, which is always rewarding for the student.
My teaching method is based on careful reading of texts in order to pick out key points. I encourage group reading/reading out loud as a way of absorbing information better. As for analysing texts, I believe engaging in tasks such as building mind maps and character studies is integral to doing this. Finally I believe that practising as many example questions as possible is the key to exam success.
My teaching method centres around the ability and competences of the student combined with the goal towards which they are working - be it a particular exam or simply a higher level of language skills.
Each of my students is unique and I tailor my lessons accordingly. Not only do I teach but I ensure that my students become emotionally healthy and positive in themselves. I pay particular attention to performance anxiety and stage fright which no other teacher addresses, to my knowledge.
I believe in using current, real life situations to help place a question into a context which is interesting, engaging and easier to understand. I use practical situations to teach the basics in problem solving and basic English skills. I am a passionate teacher keen to work with individuals who wish to improve their literacy.
My areas of expertise are poetry and prose analysis, particularly of romanticism and war literature, possibly helpful for GCSE or A Level students. Creative writing wise, I have won poetry competitions and offer inspiration and guidance to new and experienced writers.
I am a Post-graduate degree holder and I give English lessons to kids ages 5-8yrs from countries who are willing and open to learn English as a second language.
For over 15 years, I have worked with 11-18-year-old students from a wide range of backgrounds, including students in an international school with English as a second language, and I have a proven track record of motivating the most reluctant learners and stretching the most able in the classroom as a PGCE trained English specialist.
I teach English language to non english speakers or those who want to perfect their fluency in English language in order to build your listening, speaking, reading and writing skills. My methods of instruction are Lecture and discussion based as well as brainstorming and pop quiz.
My teaching method is tailored to your strengths and weaknesses, following basic guidelines of your requirement and timeline each session will involve segments of clearing doubts, reviwing previous material and focusing on current task. I try to provide relevant anecdotes that make it easy to relate and understand instead of just textbook learning.
I am flexible in my approach to tutoring and proofreading, and will happily tailor according to your needs and goals as an individual. Just message me and we can discuss the what will help you gain the most from tutoring/proofreading.
I approach each topic by asking my student what they feel they are struggling on and what they might feel is best to overcome this. By knowing how my student feels about that topic area, it gives me the ability to use the right resources and techniques to ensure my student is feeling confident about that topic after attempting ways to achieve that area.
I would try to take a student-led approach whereby they inform me what they believe are their strengths and their weaknesses and from this I can determine where focus should be. My lessons would be targeted at younger students who are struggling with the basics of english, whether that be reading and writing, or higher skills along the lines of thinking creatively, analysis and evaluation.
Providing help and guidance with school work in english, literature and subjects related to sociology and anthropology. Willing to read and discuss texts and engage students in critical analysis of literary novels. Also offering proof reading and editing services for essays or written work.
I can give lessons and tutor on how to successfully revise and pass upcoming exams. I think academia is very important as good grades can compliment your future but I also maintain a focus on mental health as this can be the main reason for whether you pass.
As aforementioned I have taught key stage three and key stage four classes. There are a whirlwind of teaching methods available, however, I strongly believe that each student is individual therefore I adapt my teaching style to suit individual students.
Carefully prepared lessons plans based on student level. Using practical exercise, games, listening exercises, video sessions, dialogue, every day situations. Used approved text and student support reference such as English File. Have excellent accent and calm voice reassuring voice.
I like to teach at a delightfully slow pace. I make my students revise their lessons every day. I give them information bit by bit and do not dump it on their heads all at once. I always have a pre-planned journal in which I write the lessons for the day.
I like to balance speaking, listening, writing and listening skills as I believe they're all important to helping you become a well-rounded English Language speaker. I love grammar and think it's really important but I also love conversational English and like to help my students achieve a natural sounding proficiency of language.
I am very adaptable in my teaching method, i find what best works for the student, rather than sticking to a set why. i have found that every student learns differently, whether they are Primary school level, secondary school or even college.
My goal as a teacher is to help you with your unique struggles as a student. I approach each student as an individual and tailor classes to help you reach your maximum potential. I am patient, and will try a different approach if you do not understand me the first time. Bring me what you are concerned about in your studies and I will help you.
I am completely open to adapt my teaching style to the preference of my students as I believe everyone learns in different ways. Thus, the preferred learning technique of my student would be the one I will uphold. I am currently in my first year of University and would be open to teach either those completing GCSE's or A Levels.
