Headstart English specialises in providing private English tuition to students in Nailsea, Clevedon, Portishead, Backwell and surrounding areas. I am a highly-qualified and experienced examiner and teacher of English with over 8 years of outstanding results at KS2, KS3, KS4 and university level.
I am an enthusiastic student studying psychology at university. I have a passion for supporting students helping them excel in all aspects of education by giving interactive and fun lessons. I achieved all A's at GCSE level. I am confident in delivering tutoring for primary school, secondary and GCSE students.
I am a passionate and enthusiastic biomedical science student. I currently graduated with a first class degree in Biomedical Science from UWE Bristol. I enjoy tutoring and have some experience teaching students of differing levels. In the past, I have been able to help my students excel in the various subjects I tutored.
I believe that recognising and nurturing a child’s strengths is just as important as supporting them with the aspects of their learning that they find more challenging. I think tutoring should be a fun and engaging experience rather than a chore, so I like to incorporate children’s interests into tutoring sessions.
I tailor my teaching to individual students, as everyone has their own ways of learning. For older students at 13+ or GCSE level this can be more of a structured conversation, to ensure students understand the content as well as learning how to pass their exams. Enjoying your subject is a fast track route to excelling at it, so I try to understand what makes it interesting to everyone personally.
My teaching methods depend largely on the individual, their needs and learning styles. I hold a positive and engaging energy, and love to get creative whilst teaching. Most of all I have a great willingness to learn and enjoy helping others to learn. My teaching style displays enthusiasm and encouragement in creating a warm and consistent environment in which learners can thrive.
I am a bilingual student who has lived in Italy, Sweden, England and China. I am a native Italian and English speaker, but I also know some Swedish and speak Mandarin fluently. Languages and literature have always been amongst my biggest passions. As a Chinese and English literature student, I try to always read widely and consistently.
With over 12 years experience teaching children from 3 years old to adults starting with basic Phonics at a level that suits each student. I produce all teaching material myself with skills gained my design background. Each lesson is taught at a speed to suit each student as we all learn differently but with a structure to follow to ensure the information is understood.
I always personalise my approach to teaching based upon the needs of the child or children that I work with. I have a knack for being creative. The first thing I set out to achieve is a positive learning environment.
My teaching method is tailored to your own needs. I will help you to figure out your weaker areas within the English subject and then help you to improve on the skills needed. I will also start lessons with a quick chat about the way you like to learn so that we can find the most efficient way for us to work.
I am articulate, approachable, and energetic. I love to have fun communicating, and think work should be an enjoyable experience. I like to understand my students' requirements, and will treat each student with respect and care, adapting my lessons if I feel a student would benefit.
My teaching method is entirely up to you! I believe some people learn best with a more focused approach, whilst others prefer to learn through fun! Whatever your preference, I put time and energy into tailoring each lesson and teaching method to each student to ensure maximum progress and engagement.
My teaching method is to asses what connects best with the student.
I would be willing to mould my teaching around the topics that you most need to focus on - whether it be close reading, analysis of literature, or creative writing. One major way that I could be of help is to proof read any essays before you hand them to your teacher.
I plan to give English lessons from basic primary school level up to A2 at A level and plan to give law lessons up to university level. I plan to structure by lessons on a person by person basis as a different structure will suit different students and their strengths/weaknesses differently.
My teaching style incorporates patience and firm structure. Lessons will be structured and follow the curriculum that you are desiring to learn. I am happy to improvise and come up with creative and fun ways to get a lesson across and relish the challenge to keep a student engaged.
I have a unique method of teaching which accounts for all types of learning. I approach every lesson differently, for example not every lesson will be taught behind a desk, some will be outside, some will involve learning from a video or an E - Book as i believe that understanding how a student learns and giving them multiple opportunities to show their knowledge is key.
I believe in a hands on learning approach that is suited to each persons needs and learning styles. I believe that self confidence is vital and set tasks that allow this to develop. I believe that in order to fully understand new content a student must have time to practice and try out new methods for themselves.
I base my tutoring on the individual needs and wants of each student, providing as bespoke as service as possible. I teach from age 11 up to A Level, and I believe that the older a student gets, the role of the teacher becomes more to support them in their learning rather than to spoon feed.
My teaching method combines obtaining knowledge on literature analysis, while simultaneously cultivating yourself by understanding the meanings of texts, and expressing your personal views and beliefs on them.
I have a very relaxed yet focused teaching method, the key to successfully teaching a child is to make the lesson As engaging for them as possible, I base my lessons around my pupils style of learning and cater to their needs in order for us both to get the most out of every lesson.
As I would like to tutor an array of students, I will approach every student's lessons individually to suit their needs. After discussing with the student and/or his or her parents about the student's difficulties with the subject matter, I will come up with a lesson plan.
I generally teach students in middle school or at GSCE/A level. I allow my students to find their own way of attempting a particular problem. I feel that it is best for students to not be tied down with certain methods if they do not work for them and that fear of punishment is no way to motivate students to do their best work.
With six years experience researching and studying Linguistics I have worked with various universities in Kent and London on paper, projects, and conferences. I hold a masters degree in Language and Cultural Diversity from King's College London where I graduated with a Merit.
Relevant education. I have to meet and understand your child before finding out which approach to learning is most suited. It will be a very proactive class, with children relating what they read with their own experiences.
My teaching method is based upon completion of several worksheets that focus on grammar, punctuation, sentence structure and content. These can be tailored to the students level. The completed worksheets then give me an idea of areas that need working on. In the next stage of my lessons I will work through these areas causing trouble to best suit the individual needs of my students.
I base my teaching style on learning being engaging, fun and relevant as I believe that is the best way for anyone to process and most importantly retain information they need for a class.
Usually I will ask the student if they are studying any literary texts and then we will analyse a passage together. Also I give the students writing exercises to ensure their spelling, punctuation and grammar is accurate. Moreover, I give advice on essay ad exam technique. However I can be flexible.
I base my classes on your needs. We will begin by determining where you are struggling and proceed to tackle the problem head on one at a time. We will go at your required pace.
I am very friendly and approachable. I have an unlimited amount of patience, which lends itself nicely to teaching younger children in preparation for SATs. If based locally, I am able to travel for tutoring, or online if this is easier.
