Hi! I'm Katie, and am offering tutoring in KS3 - GCSE English. My teaching methods can be adapted to the students needs, but it is typically a combination of audio, visual and practical learning. I focus on providing constructive feedback, positive reinforcement and growing confidence in the students ability.
I can guarantee the provision of thorough and stimulating tuition needed to improve any students grades, having experienced and understood first hand what is required to achieve the highest results.
I have experience in teaching English literature A-Level classes, and in leading critical thinking classes to pupils aged 12-18. I have also tutored Oxbridge hopefuls in interview practise.
I am happy to tutor anyone who's studying for GCSE or A Level English (language, literature or combined). My teaching method will depend on the student. I am very adaptable and i know how hard it can be to keep interested within class.
I adapt my teaching style and content depending on the age and needs of the client. But deal with English Language and literacy development from associating phonemes to letters for very beginners all the way through writing structure, grammar, and similar used in English Language. My Master's training developed knowledge from basic English language through to extremely advanced skills.
I'm a big believer in making the learning as exciting and engaging as possible. Children learn best when they are interested and enjoying their learning. To ensure this, I use a wide range of resources and methods to explain concepts, making it as easy to understand as possible.
I have just finished my A Levels and I hope to pursue a degree in English Literature. Lessons should be engaging, and each person is different in how they learn. So I will be specific to each pupil to ensure they have the best experience.
My passion for teaching English is undimmed after over forty years experience. I gained my Graduate Teaching Certificate in 1970 and have been involved in developing communication skills ever since, mainly with Secondary School pupils but more recently with adult foreign students.
Over the years, I was taught that if you do well in school then you will have the best chance to get a good job and earn a substantial amount of money. This is partially true. However, how many A's you achieve in school, does not necessarily equate to the amount of money you make in the future.
Looking to give lessons to current A level students looking to improve their learning. I teach online through pre-recorded lessons or chat method so there is no need to meet in person or use a webcam. Just inform me which subjects you would like to go over and I will record a lesson and prepare exam methods. You can also send me essays that you have written for me to mark and improve.
I base each of my classes on the curriculum according to the age of the student also I set a 1 to 1 session with each student to discuss their strengths and weakness within the subject. Once I have complied the necessary information , I create a personalised learning plan for each student. This learning plan will detail a week by week schedule which will cover all areas curriculum.
Initially, i will start the first session as a 'Taster Session' where i get to know more about the student's strengths and weaknesses by giving them a sample paper for me to asses their ability so that i am aware of the areas in which they need work on and which areas they can develop further in.
My teaching method is based on the type of people I am teaching, I can be a slow or fast as the individual/people need me to be. I bring props With me to make my teaching experience more fun.
I teach in any style, depending on the student. I am happy to tutor online if that is necessary, as well as in person. I tend to revise with flashcards and notes, and teach with these methods too. I tutor my younger sister so am used to teaching people younger than me and have experience in this.
My teaching method is to test the students upon first meeting them to identify problem areas and then build activities and demonstrations on such topics to build and test the students understanding at various intervals. If there is no improvements, then alternative activities and methods will be introduced.
I take a personalised approach to tuition, so my method with each student is tailored to suit their learning style and strengths. I like to be clear about why my student is wanting tuition, and what he or she wants to get from it, and I will regularly check and update this conversation.
I hope to be able to benefit senior school students most specifically but I am also open to assisting pre honours University students. My approach to study is thematically based and I believe that from this basis, it is possible to narrow down focus to style and form, and thus come to deconstruct a text.
My teaching method focuses on developing confidence in exam performance by giving detailed explanation of exam structure and analysing example exam papers. I aim to provide real life and up to date examples of high level work and will work with my student to build up to a higher grade by setting weekly goals and small tests to monitor achievement.
My teaching method utilises my own handouts to help with concentration and fun. I class myself as an immersive tutor who will tailor my lessons to each individual so they can get the most out of each lesson. I am willing to put the work in to help each tutee gain exactly what they want from the lessons.
I am a student who will continue learning at university come September. I plan to teach at a Secondary level in the future. I believe the best way of learning is to have a discussion about the topic; each person will try to question the other person's knowledge and conclusions that they have made. This challenges both the tutor and the student so that both parties are able to learn from each other.
My teaching method covers all aspects - oral, written & practical for all students. I make sure that my lessons are fun, interactive and informative all at the same time. I base my teaching and my lessons on Core Topics of a particular subject such as English/Maths; and furthermore, on specific topics my students most struggle with, to help and benefit their learning.
I can give English lessons at a primary, high-school and/or college level, to those who love the subject and want to improve or to those that struggle with it and need that extra push to help them achieve what they wish to achieve.
My teaching method is firstly getting to know the student and what works for them. I like to introduce the topic to allow the student to get a feel about it so we can then go forward with it. My lessons go from primary school level to A2 Level English.
I like to talk through my thought processes, and how I interpret certain aspects of the novel/play/poem, as well as look at other aspects that may contradict mine. By talking it through it creates an open environment where people become more open and confident with their thoughts.
I tailor my teaching style to suit your child as every learner is different. I establish excellent working relationships with my pupils based on mutual respect and, often, a love for Harry Potter, Disney and football. To gain the most from sessions, they must be fun! Children learn best when their learning is interactive, stimulating and enjoyable.
My teaching methods are rather new, but I enjoy making the lessons seem fun and with experience, I can explain the work in a way which will make it seem more understanding for the student. I would prefer to give lessons to those studying for SATS exams, or help with Literacy work.
I aim to be a fun and creative tutor finding things that appeal to each individual student. Tutoring various ages (15-18), I believe it is important to adapt my style and language to suit this. I ensure the chosen texts are read and thoroughly understood before moving on to exam preparation thus building the confidence of my students beforehand.
I prefer for tutees to pose the questions as a form of active learning, rather than listening or being lectured at on a topic, active engagement with considered and effective prompting allows tutees to realize their own potential and to engage with the material in a far better way
I have completed my A levels and I would like to help 11+ students, GCSE and A level students (for English, Biology and Classical Civilisation). I am friendly and like visual tools learner and incorporate this within my lessons. I use practice papers and the new syllabus structure to plan my lessons.
I will study past papers done by the student and highlight areas for improvement, then focus on these key areas using exam board resources. Tuition will be relaxed; progress will be made without excessive intensity. Clear, tried and tested advice will be given and written down so that progress is not lost.
