I earned my BA in English Literature from Providence College in 1968. I hold a MEd from Boston University, a Master of Divinity from the Episcopal Divinity School and a Master of Theology from Boston College. In my tutoring, I try to build on a student's current strengths as a first step to improving their academic performance.
I prefer to teach one-on-one. Having planned and conducted tutorials for groups of 20-25, I find that doing face-to-face work lets me understand my students' needs in a much more efficient manner. I also prefer to work via Skype/online, mostly due to travel constraints, though I'd be willing to negotiate this based on transport/distance. My classes are quite structured, but not rigid.
My teaching method is to make it as fun and entertaining as possible. I use metaphors, games, mnemonic devices, and the student's personal interests to help make meaningful learning connections that will last.
I always adapt my teaching method to the student and context. I believe in meeting individual students at the level they've already achieved and affirming, naming and congratulating them on their current skills sets. I present myself as a compassionate co-learner who just so happens to have the knowledge the student needs.
My teaching methods are typically intended for elementary and high school learners. It includes demonstration, easy to learn methods of teaching-learning process, interactive games, practice test, knowledge test, which are highly recommended for students with individual differences. I am a very approachable and patient teacher.
I approach each topic with the intent to make learning exciting and fun. Keeping each student attention can difficult at times, especially after being in school all day and then has to attend a tutorial session with me. I make a game out of it with incentive prices after a couple of weeks of successful sessions with me.
I care for my students' frustrations, I listen, and create the best possible course of academic progress after getting to know them, so that I can relate to their mode, and see what is going on with my students' objectively, and then finally I eliminate all negative factors/and or other influences or factors which may hinder their progress and successful education completely.
I love to use hands-on strategies as well as connect everything with critical thinking - allowing students to apply their knowledge to their lives and thus becoming more productive citizens. I believe the positive reinforcement and scaffolding are key to making sure students learn at a good pace while retaining all necessary information.
My teaching method is simple and easy. I make learning fun through examples, tricks , practice papers etc rather than burden. The more you practice the more you learn faster.
My teaching methods are via Skype and will be a one-on-one session for an hour, commencing with the proper basics of grammar, writing skills and the content that needs to be covered. Proper tips and methods to acquire mastery assured.
Since I am a recent grad I draw from my own experience. When helping students with written assignments and research projects I like to get an idea of what their class is like and what expectations the teacher/prof has in order to help them achieve the best result possible.

I love the written language and all of its conventions yet share an equal interest in Literature taught as a record of mankind's experiences through our own voices--not the voices of textbook writers. However, my true passion is in secondary pedagogy. Flexible yet persistent, patient yet rigorous and with a meticulous and creative eye, I'm a well-rounded teacher.
I am an engineering student, I have 4 years experience in private lessons. In the first class I do an x-ray of the student to know the main problems and apply the best solution method. My classes are dynamic and always try to keep my students motivated.
I do not believe in a particular methodology as every child is different and requires separate methods of communicating when it comes to utmost retention of what's been taught.
I believe in curiosity. I just keep feeding the curiosity of the students as long as they keep on thinking on their feet (and out of the box, of course). I believe in teaching the students the importance of curiosity about the subject first, then I delve into the mundane work of getting in the subject.
Teacher graduated in Portuguese / English UFRGS gives school tutoring (Portuguese, English, writing, literature) for the various grades of primary and secondary education and for students paying entrance exam. Assists in exercise and offers more activities, if necessary. Each lesson is planned in order to bring it as close as possible to the reality of each student, facilitating the learning.
I believe that students need to be excited by their learning. If there is something that they are not enjoying I believe that there is always a way to make learning exciting. Learning and school should be fun, exciting and should meet the student's needs.
My strategy are determined mainly on the subject matter to be taught. I aim to see that every student learns and understands the subject. I have been taking tutions to middle school students with 2 batches of 7 students each. I am dedicated and proactive with a strong commitment in high quality educational standards that develop the potential in every child.
My teaching method is based on positive reinforcement and encouragement paired with practical assistance and proven study strategies. My aim is to provide guidance, increase students' sense of accomplishment and overall capability, provide structure to study activities and keep learning tasks engaging in order to unlock potential.
My teaching method is to make sure the student's needs are being met. Before I begin working with a student, my desire is to understand what needs they have first to prevent from waisting time. After that is established and I know what is needed, my goal is to provide a structured but fun, successful learning environment.
I teach English composition from a writing about writing model. I teach my students how to identify and study genre conventions so they gain transferrable skills for future writing projects. I provide one on one conferencing with each student on all of their major projects.
My teaching methodology is to engage the student into the lesson. Starting off with a flexible schedule in order for the students to build trust and gain confidence with the tutor. I often use real life examples during lessons, in order to maximize an engaging lesson. I enable student to bring past work from schools, so the lessons can reflect the school lessons.
I have an MFA in poetry, a BFA in English, and a CELTA certificate, along with teaching endorsements in English, ESL, and GT (gifted and talented). I am a law student at the ULB in the first year of bachelor. My teaching method is sweet and suitable for everyone. We set goals and we reach them at your own pace, whatever your level. I give classes to primary and secondary students but also to adults who wish to have a training.
My teaching method is majorly conversational. I effectively interact with students to make them comfortable in the language and increase their confidence. My math teaching skills are orthodox but effective. I was taught in a certain way which I feel was useful and I intend to pass it on.
My way of teaching is unique by giving practical examples, and by studying student's field of interest and comparing or relevating the topics to be taught with the concept which student's are aware of, and making it easy to understand.
After three years of teaching high school English, I returned to grad school to get my MFA in Creative Writing. In addition to dozens of published essays and stories, I edited a literary magazine and currently also run a small press. I am at work on my second novel.

Over the summer, I co-taught a creative writing class for elementary and middle school students where I worked to provide the tools for learning, as well as structure and guidance.
