Hi! I'm currently studying in my third year at university doing a BA (Hons) English Language and Literature degree, to which I will follow up with a School Direct course during my fourth year at university to become a qualified secondary English teacher. I believe that the best method to teach is to not feel as if a teacher is purely talking at the student and hoping that they will understand.
I have completed an English Literature Pre-U (A-level equivalent), in addition to an A-level in drama and I will have a Psychology Pre-U in the summer. I also have an offer to study Drama, Applied Theatre, Education and Writing for Performance at the Royal Central School of Speech and Drama in October 2018. I'd be happy to help primary school, GCSE and A-level students.
I currently teach English Intervention in CCYD and find that most pupils tend to miss out on marks from the higher marked questions on Unit 2 and Unit 3.
I have a passion for English and would like to share that passion and help people expand their knowledge. I’m studying A Level Literature at the moment and would like to support others. Willing to offer support and resources to improve grades.
I’m Steph, I attend the University of Exeter (studying Politics and International Relations) and I teach English to students right from primary school through to English Literature A-Level. Lesson structure is very much based upon the student and their aims: from guided reading through to discussion of textual interpretations and assisting with wider context.
I have been a primary and middle school teacher for over 10 years. I have experience with SATs and preparing for the 11+ exam. I now work from home tutoring online using Skype/FaceTime etc. My lessons are structured, efficient and focus on the areas students most need to work on.
I am a sixth form student, currently studying science and maths but with a keen interest in reading and creative writing for fun. I have always loved writing, especially in the fantasy genre, and would like to share this with primary and secondary students as an extra-curricular activity or in preparation for English exams.
I recently graduated from the University of Derby with a BA in Creative Writing (2:1), and am currently studying for a Master's degree in Writing for Performance. I give lessons to ages 14+, all the way to undergraduate level. English Literature lessons are taught simply and methodically, whereas Creative writing lessons are more freeform and activity-oriented.
I’m currently a first year English literature student. Reading and writing has always been a major part of my life and something in which I have been proficient since primary school.
Lessons to primary students working towards SAT's and high school students working toward GCSE's. I believe that s good routine and the right attitude will always lead the process of learning. My ethos is that when it comes to learning, you way is the right way.
I am biomedical science undergraduate student. Tutouring secondary school students in English and Biology. In terms of lesson structure I tend to focus on the content and then do exam style questions to solidify learning . It's also based on what you as an individual needs most help with.
I am a doctor of education. I specialise in developing confidence in learning no matter the age or ability of a student. I am practical and holistic. I use students’ culture and personality to help them to develop their skills.
I have just recieved two nines in my English GCSEs, and I'm now studying A level English Language and Classical Civilizations. As a result I understand what the new GCSE examiners are looking for better than most who are older than me. I also have experience working and communicating with primary level children.
I am moving to Limoges, France for 5 months in order to improve my basic level of French. I hope to be able to encourage and tutor anyone who needs a bit of help in English and/or proof reading for any essays or exams. I give lessons to those with a basic level of English and want to improve, or those hoping to focus their skills.
I am currently a second year English literature and history student at University of Glasgow. I am available to tutor in English and/or history at any level up to Advanced Higher, with the ability to assist in questions related to other humanities subjects (e.g. art, modern studies, politics, RMPS, politics) - although I do not tutor specifically in these subjects.
I am currently doing my A Levels. I am in Year 12, and I achieved all Grade As or A*s (7,8,9s) for my GCSEs. I particularly enjoy English Literature and find myself attaining good grades in the subject, which is why I chose to teach it. Lessons with me would comprise of a starter activity, then to be followed by the bulk content of the lesson.
I'm a radiography student willing to give lessons to pupils up to GCSE level in english including both reading and writing skills. I'm a kind, happy person that has a positive attitude towards learning and helping others grasp areas that might confuse them. I use both an online and text book approach to teaching using all the tools availble to me to help you learn in the best way.
I am currently studying for an undergraduate degree at the University of Chester, which means that I can very much so relate to student's needs. By bringing a fresh and joyful method of teaching I will use my patience to listen to your needs, and make the most of our sessions as I am aware of their value and importance. The lessons can be planned out by myself as well as by yourself.
A mature, friendly and approachable High School student looking to tutor primary and secondary pupils at any level of English as I have excelled in my SQA National 5 and Higher English exams achieving an A on both. I believe that as a tutor I possess great interpersonal skills and have the ability to put people at ease.
Being a native speaker, i have always loved the language (la langue des amoureux), i am very keen on helping others achieve their dreams of speaking French fluently. I am passionate, caring and hard working person, i will do my best to make the lessons as bearable as i possibly can. I can give lessons to anyone who is still in secondary school.
We all learn differently, in school I was always afraid to ask questions in case it was the wrong question. How can a question be wrong, when you are asking so you know the answer. I learnt from my teachers in school that I would never make a student feel as i did. You would have the time and freedom to ask questions, you feel are relevant and important.
Teaching isn't an easy job and it certainly isn't a job a person can always opt for. Living in a world where English has become a global language is quite tough to be honest but if I can do this as a non-native English speaker then so can you. You just need a pat on the back and I can be the person to pat your back everytime you succeed at something in English.
I am a qualified primary school teacher (aged 4-11 years) with 18 years of teaching and senior management experience in school. I love teaching and believe that it should be fun and interesting. I offer tutoring for any age in all primary school subjects and English and History for KS 3 and 4 and adults.
My name is Fern Shaw and I'm a proud wife and mother of 2, living in Lincolnshire. I have worked with children with additional needs for 11 years, predominately in mainstream primary school, helping those who face challenges to meet their full potential.
My name is Aliye Uzun, I am a sixth form student who is currently studying English Lit, Psychology, History and Sociology. I am very passionate about English Lit and I would love to help out a GCSE student as I have similarly faced the pressure and stress.
I am a 19 year old university student who is happy to help primary and secondary students. Please feel free to contact me even if you're older than secondary level. I understand that everyone learns differently and some people aren't as academic as others. I believe in catering every child's learning to their individual needs, including using their interests to give examples.
When at college I participated in peer tutoring, which I enjoyed a lot: I like making friends through teaching - discursive study is a much better approach than simply telling someone to go over things.
I am a sixth form student who has recently done my GCSEs and so my teaching method will be based on understanding individual the individual students' strengths and ares of improvement. My particular focus will be the analysis within English.
English literature is hundreds of years old and continues to be one of the most popular courses of study in high schools and universities around the world. I believe that English Literature is a challenging subject in which many children are struggling with due to the new GCSE standard required by its younger generation.
My lessons are clearly planned over a on hour period covering all the essential points in the lessons. I would make sure that when I am teaching students in their own homes that they would clearly understand each point and topic before moving onto the next topic.
