The foundation of my teaching method is based upon expanding on the student's preliminary ideas about a certain piece of prose/ poem/ title/ question (usually from past paper questions). I spend the first 10-15 minutes guiding my students to develop a concrete sense of their own ideas.
I give lessons to those studying English Literature/Language at high school level, and adults who are studying English as a Second Language. My teaching method is entirely up to you! I believe some people learn best with a more focused approach, whilst others prefer to learn through fun! Whatever your preference, I put time and energy into tailoring each lesson and teaching method to each student to ensure maximum progress and engagement.
My teaching method is through worksheets and also personalized quizzes for the student who I shall tutor. I am also open to helping students with their homework and also happy to take student's requests in what they would like specific help in.
I approach each topic that I teach by dividing it into sub-categories and teaching this to students in depth with use of a textbook, revision guide and flashcards made by myself. A recap quiz is done at the end of every lesson in order to check that the student has learnt what they needed to learn that lesson.
My teaching method is to go over the subject. I prefer to also do exam questions, to give students preparation. I find exam prep very important as it gives good practice and also a taste of what sort of exams you'll be doing.
I tutor with the philosophy that if you enjoy something you will excel. My aim is to make my lessons fun, engaging, unique, and often spontaneous, with a clear and focused goal in mind. I can communicate on all levels, making it easy for me to explain to the child and the parent why we are learning what we are.
I use more of an interactive approach to teaching. Rather than spewing out information and memorising nonsense I like to get the student involved. Interactive learning is a hands-on approach to help students become more engaged and retain more material. With or without a form of technology, interactive learning helps students strengthen problem solving and critical thinking skills.
My teaching method is flexible and can be adapted to the certain needs of individuals. My specialist subject is English, however, I can also teach any KS1 and 2 subject.
I approach the topic by sectioning them into, Speaking, Listening, Reading, Writing and Literacy skills.
