Back to Basics. I believe that somewhere down the learning line that a link may have been missed and that by going back beyond their present ability builds confidence to approach the more difficult learning that they currently struggle with. This scaffolding approach has been tried, tested and proven to work.
My teaching method derives from my own experience in the classroom and lecture theatre: really apply yourself, devote yourself to studying and you can get the grades you want. Nothing comes for free, therefore I would encourage my students to study deeply for many hours and practice what they have learned in the classroom so they remember it.
I approach each of my lessons on English it can include different topics such as: -Poems -creative writing -reading -news report -speaking and listening -writing -grammar, punctuation -full stops -capital letters -moderation texts I can also, do different subjects such A: -maths -science -welsh -welsh baccalaureate -religious studies
I have the mindset that the pupil needs to feel valued before they are keen to put that extra bit of effort in.
I am recent graduate from the University of Glasgow where I gained a First Class (Hons) degree in English Literature. I am happy to proofread essays and give one to one tutoring from primary up to first year university level.
After meeting with a student and discussing their strengths and weaknesses with regards to study skills, I tailor my lessons to each individual student's needs. I always use a range of differentiated teaching styles to keep the students thoroughly engaged.
I approach each topic by breaking it down and making it relatable to each students specific needs. I aim to provide grids, structure samples and ample feedback to get the best out of my students. I have a wealth of resources to share with students to help them make the most of their learning.
My teaching methodology is subjective to each student and their needs. In general, I would base classes around a core text and ask questions to develop a conversation and help a student develop their own unique interpretation of the work which then can be used to aid assessment. I would also focus on essay structure and exam to technique to help each student achieve excellent results.
I strongly believe that children learn in different ways and great teaching is about finding the way that works for each individual and encouraging that. I love to make the learning process creative and fun, but also challenging and achievable.
I follow the structure outlined by the SQA and break topics down into bite sized chunks. I’ll clarify the subject areas students need help with most and use day to day examples which young learners can relate to and understand. Lessons will be drawn to a close with a recap of the issues raised during the session and summary questions will encourage critical thinking and reinforce understanding.
I teach using a variety of methods (discussion, projects, games, Q&A, etc.), the methods that I use depend on the student. All my sessions are tailored to the individual and group sessions are differentiated so that all students are supported. I teach up to A-level English.
I always go one step at a time and try to make learning fun. I encourage people to feel comfortable saying they do or do not understand something, which I think is important with tutoring as often times the student will just one to move on to the next topic.
I approach each topic by working on the strengths and weaknesses of the pupil. Each lesson would focus on two things; one thing that the pupil is struggling with and one thing that the pupil is strong at, in order to boost their confidence. General structure would be, some reading and comprehension exercises.
I have a child centred approach, with a strong belief in each student learning through a range of methods that are best suited to them. It’s important to stretch pupils so they are successful and feel positive with their learning.
I use my love of books and literacy to inspire future readers with a fun and exciting approach using the children’s interests
I enjoy teaching students age between 7 to 15 years old. Given that grammar is important, I like to give various short exercises after covering a topic to ensure that the student has a good understanding of the topic discussed.
I have experience of studying Latin at GCSE, IB and undergraduate levels. I have a good understanding of Greek and Latin grammar and am also able to assist in English studies having studied it at as one of my highers in my IB.
I enjoy teaching to individuals and groups of learners. For the past two and a half years, I have been teaching English and Maths to students frequenting the Isobel centre, Isle of Wight. I teach in a calm but enthusiastic manner and I wish to pass on my love of the novel 'Jane Eyre' to others.
My teaching method would be whatever the individual finds easiest. I would go through each method and see what the individual finds easiest. Making notes, spider diagrams, highlighting and using a dictionary/thesaurus are all extremely important and useful to learn and understand. I would begin with what they find the hardest and finish with the easiest making sure they understand.
I am currently studying English Literature at the University of Cambridge and am really eager to help students anywhere from 11+ up to A-Level to engage more with literature and to achieve the marks they are more than capable of getting!

I teach people by speaking to them and opening their minds to new ideas.
My approach to teaching would be to encourage students to think outside the box. Many students studying English Literature tend to restrict their thinking. During lessons, I will be more than happy to look through essays and show them how to improve their essay writing skills. I will also help them develop their ideas and help them write more coherently.
I base my lessons on the student/s, firstly I see in what way they like to be taught and their learning style and then I base my lessons upon that. My characteristics as a tutor would be firstly getting to know the student and asking them many different questions on school and what they like.
Since I am young myself, i get along with kids really well. I try to bond with them and get along with them, understand how they learn and whats best for them. I try and make them get really comfortable with me so they can tell me what they are comfortable with and what they are struggling with.
My teaching method is to first establish what best suits the student, then establish a good work plan. I can teach students tips and tricks on how to easily pass Higher English with a good grade.
