I am a friendly and patient tutor with a strong academic background and a passion for writing and literature. What do you teach? I teach English Literature GCSE and A Level. I also provide tutoring to improve creative, essay, academic and practical writing.
I'm a fully qualified teacher and have lots of experience working with school students from 11-18 years of age. My classes are very much driven by each, individual student. In each session I like to have a set of objects that we can complete to ensure our sessions are targeting the areas where you need help.
I focus on the needs of the individual and try to find methods to make study engaging. For me, I think it is critical to understand concepts before learning how to apply them. Where possible I will use visual aids to assist with learning.
My teaching method is simple: the more work you’ve put in, the more you’ll get out. With my subject being English Literature and Writing, we can thoroughly go through texts together and I can guide you to your own conclusions.
I will work with the students to plan lessons that suit their needs,I am happy to tutor a range of younger students from primary school up to A Level level.
I like to understand what stage of learning my students are at. This helps me create a plan for them to follow. I believe practice make perfect. So my approach to teaching and learning in General is very practical.
I believe you learn better when you not only understand what you are being taught but also enjoy your lectures. I focus on making every lesson student centric, where my students engage in communicative activities. I am a storyteller by profession and make sure my lessons are creative filled with knowledge, fun and laughter- and also loads of learning.
My teaching method is taking things slow and making sure my student clearly and fully understands the topic. I understand that it is imperative for students to tackle things in a methodological way and I can be a great aider in that.
I believe when it comes to teaching it is essential to understand the student; whether it be their way of learning or understanding the specifics of what they struggle with. It is important to stay patient and ensure confidence in the student so that they can leave the lesson feeling as though they have accomplished something.
My teaching method is completely dependant on the student as everyone learns differently. I believe in learning through practice and so independent study is also important. I feel as though I am very supportive and enjoy seeing other people succeed.
I split my lessons into categories that focus on different aspects of English Literature, for example one lesson could be exploring themes and character, another on essay writing, another on critical analysis, wider reading, comparing texts... However, while I will have structured lesson I would always like to ask the students what it is they feel they need extra help with and want to focus on.
I am patient, I feel like a learning environment should be stress-free and not harsh. I did A-Level Psychology specifically so I understood the cognition of a child and the way they remember and learn so I could reflect this when I become a teacher and when I tutor.
My teaching methodology is to create content rich and exciting lesson plans to encourage the students to enjoy learning. My background is Business related having a business degree prior, however I have found my passion working with children in Hong Kong following completing my Tefl certificate to teach English abroad.
I believe that letting students approach me with their work and what they feel their weaknesses are is the best way to help them. I create highly individualized lesson plans depending on students' needs, using an arsenal of tools from my time as a teacher.
All lessons are bespoke and tailored to the individual needs. An overview of what your learning needs are identified, appropriate teaching content & learning resources are then put together and executed using multifaceted teaching techniques and learning tools.
My teaching methodologies are 1) I will make sure my lessons are simple and direct 2) Engagement of both students and teacher in the process of teaching and learning as I don't support either teacher-centered or student-centred learning ...
I approach each topic by first asking the child what topics they struggle with and give simple questions to build up confidence and once I start seeing flaws I explain where they go wrong. I then set questions at this difficulty and slowly encourage them to start doing harder questions once they get the hang of it.
I give lessons to primary and secondary children who need that extra support in their subjects and I am willing to learn with them on specific topics that they may struggle on which enhance my knowledge further whilst teaching them.
Depending on the age and skill of your child I try and make the lesson fun and engaging by playing educational games
Using evidenced based interventions and data to track student progress and identify student need. I intend to provide lessons for students of all ages. Lesson usually revolved around completing reading, writing and math activities, and then administering short assessments towards the end of the lesson to double check progress.
My style of teaching is to talk to the student and try to find how best they learn, as everybody learns differently. I can teach all kinds of students, even those with learning difficulties and of ages anywhere between 5 and 18. I am a team player, I'm very patient and understanding and take great pride in helping others to achieve to the best of their abilities.
My teaching methods are suited to the student; all students learn different so I make my lessons adaptable. I have taught primary and secondary, up to GSCE level. I can give particular help on essay skills in literature. I am patient and will take lessons at the appropriate pace for the student.
I am an Undergraduate Psychology student but have also worked as a Teaching Assistant at 2 Secondary Schools where I taught my own small classes of students or aided them with their work within class. I have taught up to GCSE level English and Maths- I also got an A* in both these subjects at school.
I make sure that the maths and English topics I teach are suitable for my student’s learning technique by teaching them in different methods to see which fit their learning needs. I am passionate to teach students with different abilities and I want to develop an understanding for my students so I can give them the right material for their learning.
My teaching method is simple, approaching the topic according to the understanding and comprehension of each child as they all learn differently - in their own unique ways. I tend to prepare the lectures beforehand, however, after delivering a lecture with basic skills, I attend to the children individually to mould my words to their understanding.
My teaching method is not the average boring teaching techniques but through an interactive and fun innovative way where the student are fully engaged throughout the session, this will help them not only learn in a fast paced manner but enjoy the subject. When a subject becomes fun they will automatically do well, my priority is to make them understand and have fun at the same time.
I have taught both in the UK and abroad and have lots of experience making learning fun. I believe in helping students become independent learners, helping them find methods that work for them.
I will first get an understanding of the types of learners that I am teaching and thereafer develop a strategy that will align with their interests. Creative strategies will be employed such as videos, songs as well as other fun and exciting activities.
I typically work towards the pupils strengths and weaknesses, planning lessons that no only build confidence and articulation within the subject but also provide knowledge on how to use this information and manipulate techniques to achieve top grades. I am patient and firm and will give as much aid as I possibly can, going above and beyond to suit the needs of the pupil.
I can adapt myself to your level, and create personalized exercises to overcome your difficulties in French (or Spanish). The methodology of work will change depending on the objectives of the student, if your goal is to pass a test or to simply improve your French, having a tutor can make the difference.
