Hi! I am currently a first year student at KCL, studying Religion, Politics and Society. I have previously tutored in Maths, English and Scoiology and have a wide range of experience working with pupils of many different ages, in small groups or on an individual basis. Through this, I have also been told that my approach to teaching makes it enjoyable for my students.
I give lessons to all levels for English Literature and Language, I like to take a personal approach to understanding the main difficulties of the student.
I am a teacher who likes to use her enthusiasm and expertise working with students of all ages and levels within the 4-11 age range. I have a lot to offer in terms of teaching experience. I am patient, knowledgeable and have the ability to motivate students to fulfil their potential.
My approach to tuition is not limited to teaching you course content, but to train your mind in the methods of revision, and information retention. Depending on your level, I will tailor my methods accordingly in order to get the best out of you.
My teaching method is based on interaction, fun learning and patience. With regard to languages, I also think it is important to practice it by speaking, watching movies and reading books. I am also open to tutor via skype calls.
My teaching method is structured and organised but also listens to what the child needs so that I am able to be adaptable in order to ensure the child's concrete understanding of the subject and that maximum progress is made.
I prefer a combination of guided discovery and teach-practise-test to ensure students are taught essential skills, encouraged to think for themselves, and that their progress is monitored.
I believe that the best lessons come from understanding our mistakes from a positive perspective. Therefore, my lesson structure is dependent on the needs of each student to create a calm, fun and encouraging environment. However, this could include discussion, practical help (e.g. essay planning and homework help) guidance and classwork assistance, if required.
I am willing to teach students of all ages. I've previously taught children with learning disabilities and aided in their basic reading, articulation and comprehension skills. I've voluntarily mentored young adults studying for their 11+ exams and have also helped students with GCSE's and A Levels.
My teaching method is to get the kids in involved as much as possible because the best way to learn is by doing it yourself.
I am a very patient compassionate person especially with children.
My teaching methods are based on discussions and interpretations as well as debates and annotating the prescribed texts together. This will also include past paper questions which will be marked and used as a guide to track progress if required.
