I am a professional director, writer and coach - working in the entertainment industry for over 25 years. I am also a literature and media degree graduate (2:1) and can help you with learning the English language, with literature texts and with media studies - from television to film, photography to design.
Hello, I'm Kimberley and I'm trained with an English degree and also QTS. I am available to give lessons to anyone wanting to learn. I am very friendly and approachable and can tailor my teaching to the learner. Please contact me for more information.
I am currently studying performing arts at UCW I currently have BTEC in Childcare and a BTEC in Health and Social Care. I also have an OCN Level 1 in Disability Awareness and have been DBS checked and have completed a course in child protection. I specialise in tutoring children in primary school providing extra support if and where needed both with and without mental disabilities.
I am an experienced primary teacher who is up to date with the new curriculum. My teaching style encourages children to perform to the best of their ability. I am always up for a challenge and a tailor made curriculum for a child, incorporating a favourite topic, book or character will help develop a passion that can change attitudes to learning.
I teach English Language and Literature at all levels from Primary to Undergraduate. I am also studying for a Masters Degree which combines the study of neuroscience and psychology with education. That is my approach to teaching, too. I teach in ways that work with my students' minds and brains to provide them with the best education possible.
My name is Maciej,(pronounced Maji), but just call me Maj. I'm a very easy going person who understands 100% what it's like for Y11's going through their GCSE's.I'm currently studying a Business Degree at Huddersfield University. Despite this, I've always loved English. I excelled at it on school.
I'm 23, so remember the demands and stresses of school. I hope to put my tutees at ease, whilst challenging them academically. My classes range depending on the age group; all classes are tailored to the individuals preferences, needs and requirements.
I will design the teaching packing to fit the needs of the student and plan this with the parents. Each student is an individual and it is important to match their needs. This helps them want to learn. I believe tutoring not only helps improve education it encourages confidence and well being.
I can teach younger students and aid with their 11+ studies as well as teach english and GCSE level content to students struggling at school.
I quickly assess needs of pupils and we focus on those need in each lesson. I work closely with the student, being sensitive to what they want to work on but can also be flexible within a lesson to give priority to the greatest needs. I’m approachable, friendly and professional.
I like to teach at a delightfully slow pace. I make my students revise their lessons every day. I give them information bit by bit and do not dump it on their heads all at once. I always have a pre-planned journal in which I write the lessons for the day.
My teaching is tailored to the individual student. We all learn differently, so different approaches will work for different students. But no matter whom I am teaching, I find it helpful to inspire interest and excitement about the subject in my students, as that is the best way to learn and to retain information.
Firstly I like to understand what my students are looking for. Are you looking to write better with better grammar? Do you have an essay which the college has asked you to write and you need some help writing it? My approach is very much led by the student, and I conduct my lessons patiently and informative.
I can give lessons to high school students, help them proofread and give them advice on university applications. I'm from the American system so I know the advanced placement system well and also got into several universities in the UK.
Given my recent degree achievement, I am more than capable (and confident) to tutor students up to the age of 18, however I have most experience with younger students (aged 9-14 years).
With a Primary PGCE and 8 years of Primary and Early Years teaching experience, I aim to deliver: -A child centred approach -Listening to your needs and working from there -Making learning fun, hands on and accessible -Using a range of resources -Age appropriate
My teaching method is proactive and I like my student(s) to constantly give me feedback on what they do and do not understand during the lesson. I am happy to go back over something I may have previously gone over just to ensure that it is understood by my student(s).
I first and foremost look at the curriculum the student is studying. Then discuss (with parents also) their goals and what they wish to achieve or gain from tuition. It is important to adapt to the students style of learning; and make sure they find the task at hand exciting. I try to make all my lessons fun; as a bored student will never put in 100% effort.
I adapt my methods for the child. For example for a teanage boy with ADD, I'll make things fast, repetitive and fun. However for a quiet shy girl with trouble reading, we would go slow and steady. If your child requires a tutor, you want them to have that extra help, my methods allow me to adapt to your child's needs. Education isn't a "one glove fits all" situation.
I like to meet pupils where they're at and find out what their passions are to build lessons around the things they love. This approach builds confidence in the areas where students feel motivated and provides a springboard to tackle areas that pupils find challenging.
I aim to make the learning process of English as interactive and relatable as possible. I want the student to really gain an in depth knowledge of whatever we are studying, and encourage interpretations and ideas that may be off the beaten track.
My approach to teaching English is creative. With specialist training in dyslexia awareness, I believe reading and writing can be de encrypted through poetry, rhyme and song to make learning not only educational, but entertaining and fun.
I approach the teaching field as very interactively and as participatory as I can. I have mostly taught younger children (5-12 year old), however I would be more than willing to help GCSE/A level students with any applications, studying for exams, or essay planning.
I give lessons to anyone aged 11 or over; in particular, I work well with people who are struggling, as I have a patient, friendly nature and love to help students make progress. I like to work with students to identify areas of development and create resources to help scaffold the student and rapidly encourage progress.
I follow the National curriculum and ensure that my sessions are fully focused on what the individual student needs help on, as well as some advanced preparation for what they will be or should be studying at school.
I aim to tailor my tutoring to my students, concentrating on issues that each student struggles with in their formal education and using a variety of exercises to suit individual learning styles. I want to create an ongoing dialogue with my students, to encourage interest in the subject alongside academic proficiency without condescension.
I will often work through a task with a student in order to understand their individual needs and to help them improve on their weaknesses, while allowing them to understand their strengths at the same time. Very short yet effective homework tasks will also allow me to find out where a students weaknesses are, allowing lesson times to be more effective and efficient.
I have a degree in Primary Education. Each lesson is tailored to individual needs. I use fun resources and games to ensure chlldren learn different concepts. Throughout the lesson I will constantly check pupils understanding through asking different types of questions.
I focus on the following topic areas: writing, reading and speaking. My initial aim is to teach you the grammar and the vocabulary. I tailor my lessons to target your weak spots and reinforce where you are already skilled at. I also teach English literature, covering the skills on how to analyse a piece of written work.
Personally, my teaching methodology is based upon what I have observed regarding my peers studying their GCSES, what works best for the majority of people and what worked best for myself.
