I approach each topic by making mind maps, PowerPoints and flashcards to produce the basic points and then to create more detail over time. Lesson will last an hour, throughout that hour we will go through basic points of each topic then go into more depth via powerpoints and mindmaps.
I am passionate about literature, writing and learning. I aim to make these subjects accessible, engaging, and fun. I am new to tutoring but have previously worked as a nanny and a children's bookseller, and feel excited about the opportunity to support students during their studies. I encourage my pupils to foster resilience, embrace their learning and take charge /responsibility of their learning journey. I am a resilient person and I believe in a 'can do' attitude and I believe that anyone can achieve given the right support and guidance.
It is understandable that not every parent has the time nor the willpower to help their child with their homework. I am willing to walk them through every task whether it is to draw a portrait of themselves or to write a short story. Children can be so insightful and may ask a million questions while the parent is trying to concentrate on something important.
My teaching method is based on building my students confidence on grasping the basics of any given topic and ensuring there is continuous practice repeatedly in order to work up that confidence and smoothly move on to harder challenges.

Whilst my lessons are structured and well planned, each lesson is tailored to the student's weaknesses. I believe that one will benefit from enjoying learning at an early age which enforces a good foundation in their speaking, writing, reading and numerical skills.
I base my classes around the aims that the student wishes to achieve, focusing on problem areas to enable them a better understanding and overall comprehension surrounding the course they are undertaking.
My teaching method would be to find out what the student is interested in.
