Lots of my work is based around creative writing, as this is the best way to put concepts into practise. I like to find organic ways of thinking through whatever grammar issue or structural element my student is finding difficult.
I am wholly committed to student-led teaching (even when that means that I take the lead because the student is unsure of how they would like to move forward). What this means in practical terms, though, is that I work to get to know the needs of the individual student and I prioritize meeting those needs during each session.
I like to focus my sessions on supporting Pupils with their academic work and areas of interest, refining their strengths and supporting them with areas they find more challenging. I also encourage people I work with to make requests as to what they want to work on and am more them happy to provide extra support with any school work. I also try looking at different topics in a variety of ways.
I can tailor the lessons around what the student wants, whether it be grasping the basics, explanations of complex concepts or going through exam questions. I try to understand the preferred learning style of all my students so that they are able to remain engaged and learn in a way that suits them.
Throughout my teaching I have gained experience that has shaped my pedagogy and practice with children. Furthermore, I have been able to improve my practice through working in the childcare industry during school holidays and while studying at university.
My teaching methodology when it comes to giving lessons in English is interaction, academic videos, role play, creative writing and reading. All these methods will be linked to the topic being studied with the student. There will be a time table given to the student on a weekly basis.
My name is Callum Hardwick and I am currently in my third year of studying English and Scottish Literature at the University of Glasgow. I am comfortable teaching from primary-secondary levels and I aspire to attain a TEFL + CELTA qualification subsequent to completing my degree. I am a grade-A student, and while I would not say I am particularly intelligent, I definitely know HOW to study.
I am an interactive teacher. I have always been slower to absorb content and understand concepts - so will take work as slowly or quickly as the pupil wishes. I will discuss with the pupil how they learn and what they hope to improve on.
My approach is simple. The text needs to read and read in a way that is easy to understand and interpreted. The beauty of Literature is it can be interpreted in several ways. I will look into your interpretations and encourage you further and help you structure it.
In the past I have helped with GCSE students but as I am now at University I would also be able to help with A Levels. I would want to know which areas of study need addressing before coming up with lesson plans to target these areas.
I use clarity of expression of words and sentences. I used task-centered methods and a concept called memory pictures. My pattern of tutoring is based on a structure of clear objective, subject matters, research, discussion, evaluations, feedback, and the use of an appraisal journal.
When peer mentoring, I assessed the student's needs and developed a flexible structure based on their individual needs. I have not done formal tutoring, but when doing so, I would plan out what we should try to achieve each week with an end goal in sight. I'm friendly and approachable and would be able to tutor for English, History and essay help to A level standards.
I am looking to give lessons to children between the ages of 8 and 17, the use of these lessons will be decided upon by the individual with a focus to improving their academic studies of English.
My teaching method is engaging students and sparking a passion within them for English - not only is it necessary and extremely important to employers, but it is also something to be enjoyed and something that can shape you as a person. There is an easy 6 - step method to learning and mastering a subject, which is: to Audit, Understand, Memorise, Organise, Apply and Repeat.
I have had a considerable amount of teaching experience - both at primary and secondary school levels - and am currently undertaking a PGCE in Secondary English Language and Literature at Oxford University. Therefore, I am aware of all the recent changes in the grading of GCSEs and in exam questions, and know what is needed to achieve high marks.
I am an extremely passionate teacher who wishes pupils to find the same passion in the subject. Have loved English since I was at school. I write poems; songs and perform live. I work with pupils from 11 - 16.
I base my classes on the fun and understanding factor, with these two combined the student will get the grade and enjoy the lesson. The lessons will include different games, videos, challenging exercises too.

I have achieved two A*s in English Literature and Language at GCSE, and have experience to help students achieve their potential in English and think creatively. I conduct one-to-one style lessons tailored to students' specific strengths and weaknesses and also give out independent work that can help enrich a students' learning.
I offer students a flexible, adaptive teaching style that adheres to iterative methods. Repetition, questions, and solution-finding are the keys to teaching students the skills required to explore their education in an attentive and guided but self-motivated practice.

Qualified primary teacher to postgraduate level (PGCE) with an undergraduate degree in English with Media Studies with honours. Strong belief that learning needs to be a nurturing experience and one where the child feels comfortable in expressing problematic areas of learning.
I gear the content of my lessons towards the individual student. I am have experience working with SEN and gifted and talents. I provide my students with detailed and constructive feedback on their assignments as well as face-to-face learning time, as I believe this is one of the best ways to learn and improve.
Willing to come to pupils home around London within a 6 mile radius from me. I am an A level Student currently and have given my GCSEs. I can tutor at Primary level as well as Secondary going on to GCSE. I prefer to teach English (language and Literature), but can extend to the Sciences: chemistry and Biology up to GCSE level.
The content of English varies vastly from school to school, so I tailor my teaching to the individual. I will ask students to look at unseen passages for literary devices, as this will help them think quickly under exam conditions, and will go through past exam questions and model answers to highlight what examiners are looking for.
