Hi I am qualified with a first class honours degree in fashion. Since finishing I worked in London as a freelance designer and pattern cutter. I have a broad knowledge of patterns and pattern cutting and am willing to teach how to build blocks to suit your own body and shape. I am also pgce trained and for the past three years have worked within a secondary school as a textiles teacher.
My teaching method is focused on delivering a basic introduction to sewing skills. This course aims to teach you how to create a simple block pattern and stitch garments together. We will learn different methods of stitches terminology and skills.
I believe students learn best by trying, having a go at something to figure out what works best. Starting with some idea as what to make, or what materials to use and working from there.
I specialise in UAL amd UCA curriculum. My main subject is Fashion and Textiles my second subject is Fine Art: Painting and Sculpture. I teach all ages and have had experience with 5 year old and adult learners. I can teach you or your child in your home or my Fashion and Textile design studio in Battersea or my Fine Art studio in The East End.
I have assisted a sewing group instructing with sewing and pattern cutting for individual custom makes. I have guided and checked the progress with arts and crafts projects. I have worked freelance on a number of designs for clothing ideas.
After studying textiles at A Level and spending a lot of my free time practising my skills in the field, I now want to help other people to further themselves in this area of study, either for academic or personal reasons. I can provide lessons on the theory surrounding the subject such as fabric construction, the history of fashion and industrial practices.
Teaching would be fun and casual, based around following a pattern if the student is intermediate or advanced. I can also teach absolute beginners who have never even touched knitting needles before by starting with how to cast on, knitting and purling stitches.
I believe practice makes perfect, everyone has a creative ability and I want to investe time with people to help them achieve their potential. Weather it is to achieve a top grade, develop an existing skill or just a start to a new hobby.
I am a current degree student studying textile design specialising in surface design and wearable art. I am able to provide help with GCSE textiles, A level textiles and any hobbies you’d like to start learning or develop.

I believe that every person learns differently, whether that's by reading around the topic and discussing it or by demonstrations; either way the lesson will result in a physical task to make sure that you absorbed all the information and can put it to good use! I think that the best way to learn is to do: my lessons will be practical and hopefully fun!

I have a thirty-year experience in the clothing industry started by opening a ceremonial dress making workshop that I distributed throughout Sicily. I personally took care of designing the collection and pattern making, of finding all the necessary and managing the workers. At the end of this adventure I continued sartorially making wedding and formal dresses.
I learned knitting before writing, using a sewing machine before moving my patent and design my own dress to my tray. Strong of these experiences, I would like to pass on some. I can offer professional development workshops such as workshops for beginners, group or individual.
Depending on the branch that interests you, you will learn the basics and tricks to potentialize that talent that still needs to be polished. A different way of taking a theoretical or practical class, taking the exercises to the real world and everyday life.
